DLC Play order.

Play Dead Money before Old World Blues, some of the stuff in OWB seems to assume you already went through Dead Money (like you being able to make a reference to something Christine said while in dialogue with one of the brains). Also a lot of the stuff that happens in Dead Money might not make sense if your character already knows all the stuff you learn at the Big Empty. It makes a lot more sense for the character to hear Elijah talk about the Big Empty, then go out looking for it himself.

Also, has anybody beaten OWB on hardcore mode?

Yes, but I did turn the difficulty down to Easy since all the enemies you encounter at the Big Empty seem to be bullet sponges.

How in the hell did you beat the final boss? Since stimpacks don't heal instantly...

Fully modded LAER killed him in about 5,6 or 7 shots, granted I had energy weapon skill at 100.

To be honest, I was shocked that he died so easily with it.

I reloaded the save I made before and tested out other weapons on it, they did not do shit.

I also killed the legate in about 4 shots from it, likewise with Deathclaw Alpha Males and Mothers.

The LAER is very over-powered.

By picking the terminal password next to the drones and then disabling the Giant Roboscorpion without firing a single shot?
I only play the game including OWB in hardcore, very hard settting. And with Project Nevada.

I'm actually having a hard time choosing when to play HH, because playing Dead Money first, then OWB, seems to be more coherent.
HH kinda feels out of place now.

Let's wait for Lonesome Road, perhpas this arc tie the whole DLC togheter.

I just ran up to it and started punching it in the face. And then it died.

Call me skeptical.

What's Project Nevada?

A Mod for the PC version that rebalances the game, adds some new features (like enhanced Vision modes with certain pieces of armor, food now has lifetime) some new equipment and makes the game more challenging, and all of that can be personalized.

That's why the PC version is better.

And you can download a mod that makes everyone in the wasteland dance non-stop.

I'm surprised PC vs. Console debates are even a thing at this point.

Well, the console allows me to lie back in my chair, controller in hand with the television at a less-cause-damage-to-my-eyes distance, television screen is also larger.

Basically, the PC makes the game itself better yes but in my opinion the consoles make it more enjoyable to play.

Yeah I know, mine was a joke too. It's pretty clear that the PC version is better when you can make everyone in the game start dancing.

A decent sneak skill or a stealth boy means you can wander around activating the enviromental hazards that help you deal with it.
If you have a stealth boy, you can go over to the protectron holding cells and find the de-activation terminal password, then up to the de-activation terminal, to kill the giant robo-scorpion without shooting a single microfusion cell. Also, if your science is at 100, you could just hack the de-activation terminal.

back to topic: I played HH first, then DM, then OWB. In my current playthrough, I am doing OWB first, then DM, then HH.

Quick Question, I started up a new play though, and never played the DLC.

What level should I start each, I going HH -> DM -> OWB

Since the DLCs difficulty scale to your level to a certain point, I'd say you can start whenever you like.. Maybe around level 10,15 or so. Depends what difficulty you seek in your experience.

Except for HH they all suggest a level when you enter them. OWB suggests 15, DM 25. I did it in the order OWB, DM and then HH, but narratively it's better if you do OWB last.

If you want to start with HH, I'd advise about level 15 or so, up to 20, depending on your difficulty settings. Dunno how well it scales if you jump in earlier.

Is this "Last Boss" the Giant Roboscropion from the trailer? I wonder If I woulc be able to beat it with my Balistic Fist or the Paladin Toaster and lots of drugs.

There is a little edge i will give you that is incredibly usefull if you have the perk, Robotics Expert. Just like on any robot, it also works on the Giant Robo-Scorpion. But watch out, GRS will restart itself after a set amount of time has passed. Super Slam should also help alot (R.I.P. Macho Man). Also, kite it relentlessly and punch while doing so. "Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee." Enjoy :D

Yup, I had exactly this same experience. He appeared, I unleashed the bots to distract him, emptied a LAER clip into him...and he died. Very anticlimactic.

Is the holorifle+all the mods much use against the legendary bloatfly, and the giant roboscorpion.

I do HH as early as possible, around 10-12, so that the enemy Tribals have sensible weapons, rather than carry around stuff that would make Veteran Rangers pale in admiration. I know they raided an armory, but 12.7 SMGs, Brush Guns and anti-materiel rifles for everyone? Come on.

OWB and DM are pretty much interchangeable; doing OWB first gives foreshadowing on Elijah and Catherine (and closes their story arcs, to an extent), doing DM first gives you foreshadowing on Big Mountain.

Reminds me of finishing Torment for the first time. After all this epic speeking, lives ending etc. I finally approach my arch nemesis (RIP Tony Jay..) and I end him with a couple of standard D&D level 1 spells (Magic Missile) and he just dies. What the fuck, that's it? :D
