Do you have any fears?

People, crowds, speaking in public, talking to strangers* on the telephone, talking to strangers in person, being scrutinized by others, failure of any kind, disappointing expectations (be they real or assumed by me) others have in me, being left alone in the room with only one person I don't know very well, spiders. So, y'know, the usual. Edit: Oh and hairloss, of course.

*strangers=people I don't know REALLY well. So basically most people, including some family members and friends of friends.

when my brother was little, he got a bumblebee inside his ear.

That would be very painful.

it didnt sting. it just.. got lost in there.

with insects, thats often helpful to know: insects dont really know you are a living thing. they barely even have a brain, so they dont really know anything.
you can use this to your advantage, in order to not get stung.

for example, when wanting to get rid of an annoying wasp, i touch it. if you gently "bump" into it with your hand, the wasp will be too bothered to stay in the area, but not frightened by any abrupt attack-like movement.
the wasp is surrounded by slow movements, even annoying bumps, like a branch blowing in the wind - it cant sting everything that moves.

i pushed a wasp away from me once, while working in a store. it flew away, and stung a fast-waving customer moments later.

Bux, get a job as a waiter or something. Who cares if you suck/get fired/only work for a month. You'll walk away with people skills or at least not be so awkweird. Might even lose the fear who knows. I was approaching your type there for a little while, it was from being a recluse for too long up at my mom's house in maine. I borderline forgot how to communicate and lol I had a stutter even since I was out of practice. It goes away. Gotta power through it.

^
sometimes it doesnt go away (such as in cases of mild autism/assburgers etc)

i had some odd jobs, back when i had hopes that i could do normal jobs like a normal person.
i learned.
but, my "people skills" remained just as awful.
i finally decided not to torture myself with it, its like trying to force a monkey to levitate, sometimes its better to let go, and realize its not a possibility.

obviously, i tried first. ive been sickeningly social at most, but what clued it for me, was that no matter how social i forced myself to be - it never felt natural, and most importantly - i never enjoyed the company. it always felt like a tiresome chore - in contrast to most normal people, who enjoy being social, and have fun at parties.
"wait, you mean you guys actually have actual fun?"
"YES!"

(i do enjoy some company now and then, but it has to be people im comfy with, and for a short-ish ammount of time. once i reach my limit for the day, my tolerance level plummets through the floor, and i almost get catatonic with the sole obsession of getting home and away from everyone. im such a charmer!)

These days I can't be social or outgoing anyway. Everyone is always staring at their god damn cell phones all the time. So neither of you guys are missing out trust me. Thanks for the enlightenment though, If i looked like "Its easy! Anyone can do it!" guy, my bad.

Not my fear but one of my friends has one worthy of note:

Chickens, he cant stand them he celebrates every omelet made as it's one less chicken to worry him and thanks KFC for working on "The Chicken problem".

I have a odd friend.

dont worry, im surprised at how rationally you take it. the "its easy!"-approach is very common, and im long since used to it.
(in fact, overly optimistic people whos job it is to assist me are probably, inadvertedly, on their way to make my life near-unbearable the next year, when they optimistically send me to university for the 3rd time. i tried refusing. my refusal bounces back with a delighted "SURE YOU CAAAN! You only have to believe in yourself!")

only speaking for me now tho, since i dont know buxbaum, but in my experience - once people have spent at least 10 consecutive years indoors, by the computer, on forums - that is usually a symptom not a result. i have noticed a very high percentage of forum-goers tend to be mild-autism cases "by default", since normal people simply do not see the point in all this foruming, prefering real life interaction, mingling, or fast-paced twittering/facebook updates.

I don't think so. I also have a fear of people who put two spaces after their sentences. So stop it or go away, please. It's very irritating. Why do you do that? The second space doesn't show anyway because browsers ignore consecutive spaces in HTML code unless you use a non-breaking space (maybe). And who would type ALT+0160 twice after each sentence? Seriously. So just stop it. Really, stop it. I mean it.

So true, but you can tell it like a thousand times "don't wave like crazy, don't "snip" them" just move slowly and they go or don't even act at all they will lose interest anyway, what the hell do they expect from those insects anyway? I never heard about cases where wasps/bees "eat" from humans we are for them not much more then a tree or something like that. Still ... people get in panic. If you have some phobia I understand that. But if you are just a usual person freaking out because of it? What the hell ... who is the creature with a 5 Kg brain mass here then ... the wasp sure does know what its doing.

Just don't breath at them (thats where they can become crazy) and don't wave around or try to hit them. Yet people act like they get attacked by a bear or something.

Sorry, I could see how someone with no social ability could be mad at the world over something as mundane as *omg* two spaces after each sentence! Get over it.

i know, ive explained this to my brother on multiple occasions, and he will still freak out, and tennis-slap the wasp towards me (or any direction, which doesnt help anybody)

you can also notice how tolerant a wasp can be, when watching a cat poke at them :D
the wasps main concern is getting away from there, stinging comes later, and is much more associated with physically hurting them, such as people sitting on them, or accidentally giving them a surviveable squeeze.
as you say, some other effects may aggravate them, there includes also strong perfumes and odd vibrations.

dont vibrate! :D

though I have to agree that wasps can be a real pain once they dissolve their hives. But here wasps are seen as pests and it is allowed to exterminate them while bees and hornets are usually protected. Wasps can be quite aggressive at the end of summer when they fly around without hives gathering food everywhere ...

dont you have your guns for that?

What I'm afraid of is there is no hope for civilisation if you people are the future of the human race.

So no, there is no gun for that.

Bugs, exoskeletons, loud noises, crowds, evil living toys, death, talking to people I don't know(IRL and on the phone), change, strangers, growing older, parties, meeting new people, being hated, pedophiles, rape, being around people I don't know, creepy music, going to sleep between 11pm-3am, being up at 4am, ghosts. I also get scared easily.

Being different, getting laughed at, big dogs, moving, being abandoned, internet going out, not having purpose, being seen naked, killing someone, getting robbed, losing anything at all, not being able to find something, having my deepest secrets revealed, losing my D&D books, having real friends
