Documentary films

Yep I hate Michael Moore, just because he is a fat bastard and his presence disgust me. The sanctimonious dick. As for some of his arguments, well aren't his documentaries black comedies. Anyway it's America, so crazy shit happens. :roll:
 
I watched coundown to zero. sigh... This is the thing i've been talking about two pages ago. Large portions of this film is trash talking the russians. So much effort has ben put in making them look like incompetent drunk hillbillys.

The other thing this film is desperately trying to accomplish is making sure im scared. I just don't see the purpose in this.

I know this world is filled with morons but a prime example that is willing to unleash a nuclear disaster upon his fellow man simply doesn't exist.

So what if iran or our dear leder has a few nukes. Do you think they are so stupid to launch them.

Those arsenals are going to be deployed on negotiating tables only.

Also The Atomic Cafe, Food Inc., yadda yadda yadda. Gonzo is good if you care about Hunter S. Thompson and/or '60s and '70s politics.

I mostly just watch music related documentaries and biopics.

Now I am mildly intrigued and curious about this one, but at the same time well warned about the stupidity of it. I don't like wasting my time too much :D

Propaganda is still real btw, and that's the purpose you asked for, why make these kinds of movies, to instill so much unecesary fear? Propaganda. Someone has need of your fear. Strange timing tho, but not so surprising "choise of enemies" (Russia, Iran, PRK) I guess.
 
Propaganda movies can be really good though. Casablanca, Battleship Potemkin, the list could go on.

The problem with Michael Moore is that he is a lying fat sack of shit who presents fake bullshit as the truth, misrepresents, misleads, and generally takes up oxygen that would be better utilized by a down syndrome baby.
 
everyone interested in moore should see the canadian documentary about him (Manufacturing Dissent). The people doing it started as moore fans ... and the more they tried to get in contact with him and the deeper they searched for informations they became less of a fan.

Moore is a manipulator. Not even making "documentaries". He is either, like DB says lyng or taking things completely out of context. He might have here and there a "point", no doubt. But its meaningless because at the same time he is "lyng" about other things ... so its nothing worth. Like talking about the issues which lead to Columbine, but at the same time showing guns and the people behind it in a completely wrong light. Thats outright defamation.

A friend of mine gave me How the universe works.

Nice graphics in that one episode i watched.

Aside from graphics it's a crappy documentary. It's crappy because it's written for dumb americans. I'm not an american i'm european and i'm intelligent god damn it.
