Does anyone else realize how stupid Arthur Maxson being sent East Coast is?

I mean they do literally laugh while they tell you about your "quest" to go there. And when you come back the guy is like "Oh shiiit he actually did it. The mad lad survived." And is kinda like damn, well I said you'd in if you did this and somehow you survived so go ahead.

I guess if Fallout 1 ripped off Fallout 1, sure. I was just stating it's pretty obvious that the Glow quest is them sending you on a joke mission to fuck off and die on. I don't know how people played Fallout and missed that they aren't sending you on a real mission.

I think the fact that they are sending people with absolutely no radiation protection to one of the most irradiated places in the known world should be evidence that BoS isn't actually looking for new recruits.

This actually happens in a lot in the entertainment media, specially in videogames. It's usually used as a test for the player to go through challenging content.

It would've been cool if there was a reason like the west coast being plagued by a virus before the war and so searching for an antidote they found the old secret bunkers of the capitol wasteland or a giant battle ending with enclave fleeing East so the bos follows up to end it it would be cool like 2 frontiers against each other in a chaotic viral and hopeless wasteland where friend or foe doesn't matter. But no a dumb excuse to use supermutants
