Yes. If you have news that deserves to be posted, go ahead and bring it to our attention.

We sometimes post things that aren't strictly related. We've also done some birds-eye view coverage of Wasteland 2 and other post-apoc games. It depends.

Update: If there's no wasteland , S.T.A.L.K.E.R., (ex)fallout gamedev, or Fallout or general post-apocalyptic news, there's no news on NMA. And that's fine.

The Codex is ... special though

But since Volourn became a lot more friendly, it has lost a bit of its momentum for me :|

What about some of the currently-in-development indie titles, like After Reset and such? Granted, Mr. Nixon comes around every once in a while when he wants to post an update, but couldn't there be a simple article detailing, if not specifically that game, a general overview of the "made in the spirit of Fallout" titles that are out there, or currently in production?

That's not a bad idea actually.
You should go ahead and write that.

Although @Korin should probably fix the front page first. Looks like it only has the most recent news item and the archive doesn't go higher than Dec 2012.
The fact that no one noticed could mean this is a recent issue though. Could also just be because no one visits the front page any more.

They need fresh blood.
There are so many post-apocalyptic games this days.

I am writting the news for the french community of Fallout/Post-apocalyptic fans website and there at least 10-20 in-develloppement/Kickstarter indie post-apocalyptic games to talk about every months. (and i almost only write about indies. There are also AAA games and to talk about, not mentionning mods)

See also the RPG codex for RPG games. There are at least 5 news every month.

The informations are there. You just need someone to look for them, translate them (you don't have to do that here), sum it up and post it.

The problem isn't the shortage of things to talk about. The problem is the shortage of people making the research and posting the news.
(which is time consuming)

For instance, the Fonline servers should definitely have coverage.

Post-Nuclear news has been a bit dry recently.

Hopefully it will speed up a bit in the wake of Fallout 4's announcement.

well many of the people here that have been very active have simply ... dissapeared.

I think I can remember for example that we had more than just Tagz and Sander as mods posting on NMA.

There has for a long time been plans to update the rest of the site and get it ready for Fallout 4, as well as implement some new community features and ways to generate content in addition to news but they've been on hold for a while. vBulletin 4 sucks and I haven't decided whether I want to sink anymore/time money into it or if I want to try moving us somewhere like Xenforo but then that's a whole big time sink too. I think the front page in general sucks actually.

Please, don't do any forum software switches unless it's strictly necessary. In my opinion the site lacks nothing but a way to take back rads. I was satisfied with even the old forum.

I don't get it. .

I "read" the front page by reading the news threads on this forum. I can barely visualize what the site looks like from a normal visitor.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller
