Emil is the best

It's funny how you already made a post to tell us we're a biased and horrible news source in late 2006, zeroascension. If we're so horrible, I have to wonder what keeps you around? You'd figure that since we're so horrible you would've found a better source for Fallout 3 news by now. Wait, what was that, it doesn't exist? Right you are, sir, right you are.

for a website who claims to be a reliable news source, all your reported stories contain a biased, argumentative, and inflamatory slant.

If only.

It's funny how whenever I (or per) decides to let loose a bit in a newspost because something has become too ridiculous to ignore - which I'd estimate at 1/10th to 1/20th of our total newsposting if that - someone jumps in to tell us all our newsposting is biased or argumentative.

What, are you guys waiting in the wings until we make a joke again to pounce in and wave the biased flag?

you should be happy you got even a skirting mention in a major publication.

Man, I wish major publications would give us less coverage

don't pull pud on someone else for letting you taste your own medicine.

Taste our own medicine?

Tell me, exactly how many times have you seen NMA use newspost to slip in stabs at organization in general? Sure, we reply to specific points at times, but I'd like to you see you dig up a newspost in which we go "it doesn't matter what nonsense Next Generation spews, this game will suck".

Because that's the kind of "neener neener" they're aiming at us here.

Whoa, BN!

Answering him in such a serious manner will certainly confuse him more than he already is ;)

Nah, he'll just disappear for two years to pop back in and tell us we're all really biased and should stop posting news in such a shitty manner.

We should be more like professional journalists like GameSpy, and tell people we disagree with that they should die, or more like Next Generation, and just dismiss any facts that disagrees with us as nonsense.

That's good journalism :ok:

I am really glad you finally start to develop this site into the right direction ;)

What I'm afraid of is that it'll be in a thread about Beth making
Fallout 4.

Geez...

It can't be as bad as Fallout 3..... can it? I mean... what are the chances....???

Could it????

Jeez, don't you get it? Fallout 3 is just the beginning!
In Fallout 4 the BoS will battle Supermutants exclusively with Fatmans and all supermutants will have evolved to the point where they blow up in a pretty mushroom cloud whenever they die!
Gaming news sites everywhere will say "You think Fallout 3 was awesome?! Fallout 4 will up the ante and blow EVERYTHING to bits!! And NMA suxxorz!!!"
So I'm drunk, sue me. :drunk:

I would actually play that for the brutal honesty and the humor.

In fallout 3, if bethesda wants to fuck with us, they sure are doing a half-assed job at it.

well the ranking list there is quite okay and they also wrote it's only about what's hot NOW

but it's only about next-gen consoles so most people here wont be bothered....

However, i think it's stupid just to name certain persons and not the whole development team... it's always about several individuals, not single ones. And those single persons they mentioned aren't even outstanding, well-known, or the only reasons why their games got successful.

Most of those mentioned games (Halo, Bioshock, ..) were imo just successful due to their marketing. And exactly the same will happen with Fo3: Hype, hype, hype and the blue eyed game journalists follow the hype, give good ratings and the gamers do the same, and when they hold the games in their hands and play them, they don't even notice the flaws and bugs they have, if they aren't super-obvious, because the hype still lasts in them.

Meh.

Flaws and bugs have always been a part of gaming, that I cannot fault them on, but to get so much critical praise for Oblivious when it is such a painfully boring story, not to mention it's handling on anything but a server grade PC on release leaved much to be desired.

Plus the various bugs, I have no problem seeing past bugs, if there's substance to the game, but it's just not there with Oblivious...

oblivion is much more enjoyable if you see it as some kind of tech demo that has embedded mini games.

what I don't get is why people come here again and again just to post that they don't like NMA. I don't really understand the logic behind it. NMA members* could be either biased (so it'd be senseless to discuss with them) or they're objective, which would make criticism unnecessary. So why argue about it?

* i don't entitle myself to be a member (yet), not enough contribution, just lurking around...

Never enjoyed oblivion, thought it was boring and kiddy. Morrowind was soso but i still found it below average, looking foward to see what Beth will do with fallout 3, not expecting alot so hopfully it will surpass my expectations.

I principially got no problems with small bugs too, but bugs, especially obvious ones and such which greatly affect the gameplay or destroy the feeling of a game...

But, if Oblivion was so substanceless and so on,as you say, why did it get so popular, often-bought and -played? I'd say it's the marketing.
