Everyone ready for the Fallout 4 awards?

The butthurt is strong in other Fallout camps today. I will agree with the sentiment that awards don't mean shit, but to the publishers and studios they do in fact matter. And I sincerely hope that Bethesda will take this to heart and look over where they went wrong with Fallout 4.

But even if they did, I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to convince themselves that "moar gunz, less talk" is the remedy.

Actually I take that back, Nerd3 is hilarious. Why isn't he on the list?

Yeah, why not? They often do better PR than the publishers themselves, and some of them offer a way more in-depth and fair look at the games they play than any review.

I watch Splattercat regularly. He's made me way more interested in indie games than I was before.

Yea I can understand that. I immediately thought of all the terrible YouTubers and forgot about the good ones.

They should give that MrMatty guy an award for best Bethesda PR for declaring Fallout 4 a "near perfect video game" the day before it was even released.

Wow man... someone needs to take their chill pills. Now, now child, even Gone Home has better writing than the retarded shit in FO4. Their basic argument boils down to FO4 having mindblowing/orgasmic gameplay while not bogging the player down with cutcenes (i.e. doesn't bog the player down with long dialogue and story). Apparently they can't stand that Witcher 3 is basically like reading a book? Reading and watching cutscenes to figure out the plot is too hard, gotta shoot all the things man.

All I have to say is...

Would have been nice to see Todds and Emils face when some in the crowd shouted "Not Fallout!" and than Witcher 3 won pretty much everything. Not that I give any shit about those awards. But it seems Bethesda does. And so do many of their hardcore fans.

What I find really sad, when I think about it, is how things have changed so much that we pretty much cheer at Fallout not winning awards as best RPG or something like that. I mean, we actually should want it to win those, to BE a REALLY good RPG. But ... pretty much everyone here knows that under this conditions, it is impossible. Because someone decided that Borderlands mated with Minecraft and Call of Duty has to be sold to the masses.

Meanwhile in Poland ...

TW3 certainly deserves that award far more than FO4, albeit my personal GOTY is Pillars of Eternity.
