Everyone ready for the Fallout 4 awards?

So, I have steam opened, there´s a game awards sale going on and fallout 4 is the only triple A that doesn´t have a discount

Weird.

I know a lot of people say Reddit is one of the worst Fallout communities ever, but they're taking this really well. Everyone's all like "Oh, Witcher 3 kinda deserved it" or "Fallout 4 just wasn't deep enough" or stuff along those lines. It's weird. I always thought they were a haven of Bethesdrones, yet they seem to have not-Bethesdrony opinions.

I frequent the Fallout reddit a bit, and they seem allright. If you want to scrape the bottom of the fanboy barrel, I'd say you should take a look at Youtube comments or the Steam forums.

Isn't Sugarbombed like the biggest hive of Bethesda apologists? I mean, as far as I know it was set up by that Matty guy, who called F4 a "nearly perfect game", that says a lot.

I thought that site was a joke. Are you telling me there's actually another Bethesda circlejerk site, apart from their own forums?

I normally don't care for GOTY awards, and I didn't watch this one either. But when I heard that Witcher 3 had won 3 awards and Fallout 4 had won ZERO I had to giggle... Also - Pillars of Eternity won best RPG at the global game awards (W3 GOTY). Good choice.

But to be fair I think Bethesda does Elder Scrolls just fine, high and mighty high-fantasy seems to suit their style or something. So Bethesda should get a new engine, develop TES VI and then they can give that engine and tools to Obsidian and they can make Fallout 5. Probably going to be until 2020 until we see Fallout 5 with that plan (at least), but I don't see much option if we want a good Fallout game.

That right there is probably the worst advice you can give to anyone ever lol.

Well... yeah. I guess. I'd probably suck as a fortune teller, lol.
I took your advice and read some YouTube comments to a Gopher video that explains the No-voiced protagonist mod and the New Dialogue Mod. This is what I found:

"Not going to lie, the NoPlayerVoice mod is about as disrespectful as it gets towards the great work the voice actors did. It was a tremendous amount of work to record all these lines & they did it flawlessly. Muting the player character is akin to shitting on a soldier's grave on veteran's day."

That's right, there is a person on youtube that thinks disliking Fallout 4's voice acting and dialogue is the same as "shitting on a soldier's grave on veterans' day."

You say that now, but wait until Elder Scrolls VI forces you to play as one race, has no dialogue choices, and all quests are taken from MMORPGs like Fallout 4. Skyrim was the beginning of the end for deep Elder Scrolls unless they do a complete 180.

I don't think a person this retarded would be able to think and breathe at the same time, so it must be a bad joke, not a serious statement. It has to be.

I don't know, he actually wrote quite a lengthy paragraph. Even Gopher called him out for being "special." Here is more of the quote:

"Not going to lie, the NoPlayerVoice mod is about as disrespectful as it gets towards the great work the voice actors did. It was a tremendous amount of work to record all these lines & they did it flawlessly. Muting the player character is akin to shitting on a soldier's grave on veteran's day. I will never understand why people think this way. No, don't get me wrong, I understand a voiced character "breaks their immersion"; It's just that reason doesn't register on my logic-o-meter. Just a bunch of random words barely forming a coherent sentence. Something you'd read on 4chan and parrot it around. "Voiced character breaks my immersion, voiced character breaks my immersion, ka-kaw." Oh well, opinions & preferences. Funny how the work. My priorities lie with immersive voice acting, personally, not socially retarded mutes somehow saving the world using nothing but a stencil & a whiteboard."

This guy should do their marketing.

It always baffles me when people can't tell the difference between a silent protagonist (Gordon Freeman, I guess?) and one that simply isn't voiced.

Bwahaha! The excuses I see on YouTube for Fallout 4. "You just hate Fallout 4 because it cool!" Sure it is sweetie. Its about as cool as the really dorky and awkward kid in school trying to fit in with the popular girls. This is fucking pathetic! YouTube the epitome of stupid fanboy zealotry.

I must be looking in the wrong circles again, but a lot of Fallout fans didn't seem to mind this whole GotY escapade. Not for "it's not that important of an award" either; a lot outright just said that the Witcher 3 was a better game and a better RPG as a whole.

Makes me think that the analogy about Bethesda being the abusive one in the relationship is so correct. The Bethesda fans (quietly includes me) knows that their product quality is spiralling down (except for the drone troll patrol who would defend literal crap if it gave them an excuse to harass people over their opinions), yet we stick to em anywhere because they might probably will won't may definitely not could get better?

It's going to get worse. I predicted Fallout 4 would be dumbed down like this after seeing Skyrim. People always say Skyrim improved upon Oblivion, but to me the first thing I noticed was the gutted dialogue. There is no real dialogue choice in Skyrim, just like Fallout 4. The dialogue wheel is just a further progression down that road to dumbing down for mass market.

Elder Scrolls VI is going to flop unless they have a meeting and make some serious ideological changes because people are finally getting tired of their shite.

They deserved the following they got for their games many years ago but they have progressed from the Luke Skywalker of game companies to the Darth Vader, with EA as the Emperor...or something.

Dialogue was shit in Oblivion. And seriously, Darth Vader/Emperor all the way. But not in this case.
