Yes but I hope you do see the difference between "not knowing" like no one ever told you anything or there have been no signs to read and the general "unwillingess of learning" about a subject.

And I hope you understand that the average citizen's education is less than stellar, and people tend initially to reject concepts that don't fit with their worldview.

In other words, it's not that they know what the government is doing and are simply choosing not to think about it, but that they have convinced themselves that the government isn't doing that because it's so unconscionable.

They simply don't know, because knowing would implicate them. And it doesn't take any mental gymnastics to understand why these people would therefore live in a state of willful ignorance than to acknowledge what is really going on.

So yes, the average citizen doesn't know what's going on, and furthermore will continue not knowing even after you tell them, because clearly you're a liberal kook who's secretly working for the communists.

the way you explain it makes it even worse. As they had the evidence in front of them but refused to realise.

Again. The point is the people had a rough idea about the subject. Also you cant compare the mindset of people today with those 70 years in the past. Not directly anyway. And I already said, there are many inteligent americans. US americans that is. Its a myth to believe most of their population would either be less inteligent or stupid compared to the average european, because to be honest the "usual" european isnt that bright either. So we all sit in the same boat. Many times they make jokes about the US citizens and their knowledge about the geography not knowing where the places are they bomb in the world though funny enough if you ask the average person here where Afghanistan is located or why the midle east is called that way they might not know it either.

Hoh yes. I never claimed that any of the Enclave citizens knew about their plans. They knew that tribes and outsiders have been treated very harsh but even many of them seen the way how Horigan did it as "nutz". So I doubt most knew about the President plans. And when I see how the enclave remenants you encounter in Vegas act is a proof in my eyes.

Remnants aren't a good example, because they were either military servicemen from the mainland or members of the science staff, both of which had access to confidential information.

The average Enclave civilian did not.

maybe, maybe not. I would not be surprised if those in Navarro did not got told everything. I mean wasnt there this enclave scientist on the tanker in F2 which left Navarro ? I think he told you that he never even visited the Oil Rig. But I am not totally sure.
