Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Three more issues:

-You get a "You see a man in ropes" dialog option, when you initially talk to shaman in Primitive Tribe.

-There is a shovel on the ground next to Anna's diary in Den and again one shovel in bookshelf next to it. At least the ground shovel should be removed (leftover from testing?).

-I had a VC patrol vs. slavers encounter near Vault City. Both sides attacked a loner dog and after it was killed, both sides just stood rest of the rounds until I closed the combat mode. After that, combat mode initiated automatically and slavers attacked me, but the patrol units just stood there yelling combat floats.

I've never had a crash or an obvious glitch so far, but I haven't tested as much as the rest of you. Perhaps the "randomness" of crashing/etc is because people like me were lazy and installed the Expansion on top of a mish-mash of fan-made patches?

Only glitch I found so far: After exiting the temple map in Arroyo I went to speak with Cameron (who is guarding the entrance to the cave that leads back to the temple at the north of the main Arroyo map, right?) and during the conversation there were no characters in the picture, just the scenery. But this just feels like your regular random minor Fallout 2 glitch...

When talking to the crazy shaman in primitive village one of the two initial dialogue options is "you see a man in rags". It does the same as the other option.

Also, Is Vic's inner door in Klamath supposed to be trapped and locked (it wasn't in the last patch version) and Is everyone at the Primitive village supposed to be pissed at me when I first meet them (seems strange since I'm buddies with Sulik and all)?

I used installer with Kiddie patch, ammo fix and B-team mod. I have a savegame at the village if you want.

EDIT: Dang. Skynet beat me to the shaman problem

Killap's mod

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: THANK YOU :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Your name will always be remembered by the fallout comunity.
Maybe after the final version and some rest, you could do the same to FO1, with the conversion to FO2 engine mod.
Again, :notworthy: THANK YOU!!!! :notworthy:

Great killap...it worked...looks like the problem was the strondous gun sound for fallout 1 that was causing the problem...

Thanks.

Really? Ok, interesting. I will have to note this. Can anyone else confirm that the FO1 gun sounds cause crashes.

The door being locked is new. I did it only out of suggestion since getting the radio for Vic was just too easy. You always had it when you got to him.

Send away.

**EDIT**
Also, just as a reminder for future posters (those of you right now are doing fine) please include in your bug reports to me how you installed the expansion (installer or manual) and if installer, what extra features you chose. This helps pinpoint the issue to my work.

Big thx for keeping the mod up to date and including additional fixes!

quick question to all of you who restarted playing or are about to : do you use anything special to play this game on a modern 16/10 flatscreen monitor ?

The aspect ratio seems rather messed up on my monitor due to it being a 16/10 one and not an old fashioned 4/3 crt

Any chance of including some sort of aspect ratio fixer/higher resolution patch/fix

It indeed was glitched and I tested the fix with your save. Everything works correctly now.

Actually, the tribe starts off uneasy about you. If you read what some of them say, you learn they don't trust outsiders. Plus, they are isolationists. So, there is no bug here. Just earn their trust.

All right then. I just assumed something was wrong because my town rep starts at neutral.

As a side note, I attacked a villager for the heck of it and got the entire village hostile. This caused Sulik to attack the other villagers which I found strange considering it's his home village and that he turns hostile if you make trouble in Klamath.

I will have to check this. Sulik should turn hostile. He may not be correctly changing teams...

The 'stop the molerats from attacking the guards' quest (from VC) can be picked up in the middle. When talking to Brain about Renewal you can't leave conversation until you make the request to stop the attacks, and then when you go back and talk to McClure, you finish the quest. Only problem is, you can do this before you even pick up the quest in the first place, or for that matter go to the VC shantytown at all!

Distressing to hear, but noted. Thanks and report if you find anything else.

I don't know if I'm beign ignorant here or what, but, I can't get out of the temple.
When I get to the part when you have to use the explosives with the door this happens.

"There are no scratches left on this door at all."

Is there some problem or there is other way to pass through the door?

I installed the mod with the installer and with all the extras, except the extra with the children frms.

And by the way. Good job.

@Azrael-Arkangel
This was reported before with my patch. It sounds like you still have some older mod left over (like New Vision, or Mega Mod) You should do a fresh install of Fallout 2 and start over.

Finally posting after being a long time lurker and fan of everything Killap has done for Fallout.

I did a clean install of FO2 with the expansion and all the options, and am getting random crashes that begin with trying to exchange the flint for the sharpened spear in Arroyo.

It crashes every time I try to talk to the villager to get the spear, and after abandoning that quest it also crashes at random times in Klamath.

I can send a save file if you need it Killap, but I think I'll try and reinstall everything without the ammo patch to see if that is the culprit.

Thanks for everything.

is there anyway to get into the cave, on the costal side of the primitive tribe, the guard is always blockin my way

cheers

I have a few issues regarding Kaga, the not-so-chosen one.

Lastly, I once tried to run away from him instead of attacking. It worked, but immediately after that I had another encounter in the middle of the desert whith nothing else around. Kind of weird.

I had the same empty encounter issue after he fleed from the battle (first kaga encounter). Could not reproduce it though.

Happened again today (second kaga encounter).

EDIT:

Another issue found,

(Vault City) I saw Connar in one of the cells in servant allocation center. When I talked to him, he cursed me for what I had done and then dialog was reset and he asked why I was killing those monsters. Problem is that I never visited or heard about Village outside Vault City before.

EDIT2:

For some strange reason, I haven't had Frank Horrigan killing family encounter at all during my current gameplay.

i have used yur installer, and everything was boxed,
