Re: Can not reapair well (Primitive Tribe)

Try as I might I can not repair the well in the primitive tribe area. I used the rope on the well but when I attempt to use the bucket my character just runs up to the well and does nothing. I tried putting the bucket on Vic and have him repair it and I also tried putting the bucket in my inventory and using it that way. Niether of these tries worked.

What is the problem exactly?

thanks,
runic

Had the same problem and tried everything I could think of too but no go. Just left the quest unfinished. Couldn't finish saving the hunter quest either as after I'd saved him and healed him he'd run out and end up lying down inside the cave wall if I came back.

Was he not lying at the shaman tent as well?

Edit:
Or did you mean you weren't aware of the damage mod to begin with?

Side note:
There are two options for the damage mod now in the ddraw.ini - one option tweaks the original damage formula but does nothing to change the affect of ammo, the second option both tweaks the formula and changes the affect of AP and JHP ammo.[/quote]

That's what I meant. I'll in the ddraw file then, thx.

BTW, the problem with the encounters persists, I'm using the old patch until someone helps me, I won't be able to play having an empty encounter every 3 seconds of walking and NONE real encounter...

PS: And killap, you're awesome. XD

Wait, are you saying the updated 1.1 installer I posted a few days ago (not the original 1.1) is what caused your recent encounter problems? (ie this was something you did not experience before?)

Dude, sorry! I saw what I did wrong now! OMG, I'm so going to kill myself!

I installed the Restoration Project and was playing allright, but THEN I saw your sig and when I read "Latest release: January 5, 2008 (1.02.22) " I must've read February 5 and downloaded it!

Man, where the fuck my mind was...Sorry again, guys...

Edit: Ok, now I know what to do. Next time I level myself up, I'm really going to put some skill points in Science so things like this doesn't happy anymore. (The perk Gain Intelligence will do fine too, but I don't think I'm leveled enough for that, yet...)

Edit2: Question: Can I install the unnoficial F2 patch and after that install the Restoration Project? Or are the bugs that were corrected in the unnoficial patch already corrected in the MOD?

Restoration Project contains the unofficial patch and all fixes within.

I found this funny bug in the 1.1 version. I had saved in random encounter map that has the cave in the mountain wall. And because I kept dying in other encounters I had to reload to this save often. About half the time my character would teleport inside the cave ( full of deathclaws  ).

@ killap

About Navarro...

I've read the scripts, although I only understand it partly, I think I get the picture.

Now, how do I open/tamper with the vertibird? There is no hand icon and using any skills just results in a " you cannot get there" message.

Where is the air traffic control terminal? I can't find a "functional computer" anywhere.

CCMASTER.int - it looks like an alternative quarter master. Is it ever being used? If so, when/how?

Are these events bugged or do I need to unlock them somehow?

Using the heart pills on Cassidy only gives a "that does nothing" message. - Was that confirmed as a bug? Maybe the talking head or npc appearance mod is interfering?

The poison hypo - It's only working on myself and maybe Westin. Is it supposed to be this way? I mean hey, it's poison, should do damage to everyone.
I remember using it on doc Johnson a long time ago, but I probably remember wrong.

cheers

ps. Still using vers. 1.1 from mid jan.

Hello Killap!!!

I use the 1.1 version of your Restortaion Project, whit the fixes and the early fix for knock out (ddraw -file only). I have not downloaded the newer fix for encounter rate/etc. becuase it is perfect for me and I am wery happy as it is! :)

I just wanted to post my thanks to you and also to say that I have played now to the Den and have seen no problems and I like your work wery much!

It is absolutely wonderful to be able to play Fallout 2 again after so long time and it feels like new experience again! :)

When I used the heart pills on Cassidy, he gave me a floater that said "wow, that feels different" or something to that affect. Now superstims don't kill him. I think it's normal for the heart pills to stay in your inventory, mine did at least.

*SPOILER*

But that's good, because you can give them to the monk with a bad heart in the Abbey.

He's always been able to use superstims, don't need the heart pills for that. If the floater comes up only the first time I might have missed it, but he still can't use any non-medical drugs. Can your Cassidy do that?

cheers

Is the latest patch the one of the first page of this thread?
Yes, the first page of this thread has a link to the latest version of the mod

Note that it is not patch, but rather mod. Many of you are using this word interchangeably and there is definitely confusion with people using my unofficial patch and thinking they are using the expansion.

I'm sorry, I meant to say psycho. I've used them on him but he hasn't electively used them (because of his combat preferences though). I'll change his combat prefs and check.

EDIT: yep, he takes drugs. It even says 'Cassidy uses Drugs'.

HI Killap,

U released a newer v1.1, dated 6th Feb. If I install this version over the older v1.1, do I have to install all the individual fixes and the OS fix as well?

Or the newer version will overwrite all the previous fixes?

Thanks.

The Restoration mod (any version) can only overwrite a humongous/minimal FO2 v1.0 installation. Restoration v1.1 requires all the latest fixes (including the OS specific ones) to work.

I did some testing and found out that the heart pills will not work together with the talking head mod for Cassidy. Otherwise the pills works fine.

Thanks agris, to help figure that out.

This is wierd. The problem was that quest did not get crossed out no matter who I talked and the hunter was laying down in inside cave wall. But now, using save just before going to enclave and talking to everyone did get quest crossed out (dont know who tought, no one had any special dialog about it. The hunter is still only in cave though). Also got herb quest from shaman now but it did not add quest line in bipboy...

Still can't fix the well :| oh well, no biggie. Maybe in 1.2 then.

First things first, Killap amazing mod, love all the new content that was added, can't believe you did all this work! Great stuff!

Now on to my problem, throughout the game, at random times, after a fight or a change in setting within the game (falling down the hole in the ghost farm), I notice that sometimes my party members will just start running away from battle all the time.

I tried resetting their behavior to aggressive, putting away their weapon then re-equipping it (armor too), made them leave and re-join the party, shot them! lol Nothing has really worked to make them head into battle again (and they are all at full health btw).

I never had this problem before the Restoration Mod, so I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I installed a fresh Fallout 2 (completely unpatched 1.0), then I installed the latest Restoration Mod 1.1, with all the available fixes that were posted.

Thx!

Edit: oops forgot to say that the only other mods along with Restoration that were added, were NPCs change appearance with armor (B-Team Mod), Improved Mysterious Stranger (Corpse) and Quick Goris De-robing Mod (ART)
