Bleeding heart Morticia (:P) said how to find that setting but forgot to tell what to set it to in her post.
I'll try to be a bit clearer.

Open your Fallout 2 folder and look for the file ddraw.ini.
Open it with Notepad.
Scroll down to the section that says:
Code:
;Prevents you from using 0 to escape from dialogue at any time.
DialogueFix=1
Change it to say:
Code:
DialogueFix=0

May I ask now how to re-enable the 0 key? I really thought that would not be possible and would have been coded or something. You can really do that?

Again, I'm sorry for my hostility... troubled past I guess when it comes to mod communities.

Maybe instead of coming in here and telling people what they should and shouldn't do with their own mods (Which I may add it's Killap work and not yours) you should read the Readme files that come with said mod.

And I think that the one you should apologize to is none other than Killap since he's doing this on his free time and not charging anything for it and it's certainly not forcing you to play with it or to even download it. Just be grateful that he is working on making a great game even greater.

And don't even bother replying to this post, as I won't say anything else on the matter.

Funny how he got so angry for fixing a cheat in the game...

Then again, I remember when I myself had quite strong feelings for removing the infinite experience computer from the game... It's just like someone said -- everyone has their own vision of how Fallout should be, but this is killap's mod and I respect it and enjoy it still.

There is no such file. I searched 3 times. :(

How high can you level with the new patch? If its less than 40 I'm uninstalling it.

And guys, that was an honest appology. Please give it a rest, don't beat a dead horse. I didn't understand why I was so angry, so I sat down for a while and thought about it and it humbled me. I am sorry, and if thats not enough... then I don't know what else to say.
 
Hm. I seem to be having a problem with the game crashing during the fight with Tyler in the Den's residential area. I'll try and reproduce the crash and scribble down the error message.

edit: now that I WANT it to reproduce the error message, it's refusing to crash at all. 12 times through and it's flawless. Damn this is annoying.

Yes there is, otherwise the "0" button trick would still be working.

The only thing I can think of is if you have Vista.

From the Fallout wikia:
A "missing" FO2 savegame directory is a Windows Vista issue. Save games and other items are placed in a hidden AppData folder, usually located at C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2. It's called the Virtual Store, and it's part of Vista's UAC. Any file writes to the Program Files directory by limited user applications are rerouted there, so if you installed Fallout anywhere apart from the Program Files folder you won't be affected. You also won't be effected if you set Fallout to run as administrator, or completely disable UAC (which is strongly advised if using many pre-Vista apps). It can actually cause a problem for people who don't know about it; if you start a game of Fallout, and then later on set Fallout to run as administrator, all your saves will vanish.

Stupid Vista may put the ddraw.ini file in there as well, though I don't know since I turned that shit off a long time ago.
So have a look in C:\Users\YourOwnUserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2

If that's not the case, maybe you should tell what you do have in your Fallout2 folder.

Also there is no level cap for the player in F2, only for the NPC's.
 
LOL! I'm really sorry. I have a backup of Fallout 2 and for some reason I accidently seached that. Sorry about that. I found it and fixed it. Oops!

(by the way, can someone direct me to a .pro editor? I downloaded a weapons redone mod because it fixes a lot of stuff I didn't like, for instance the Bozar is now a sniper rifle... not a machine gun. But the problem is now the FN Fal is severely under powered. I'd like to fix that one little thing. If someone could direct me, I'd realy appreciate it. :) I'll be searching for it in the mean time.

Eh... I think I found something but the link is broken. And the error page that loads is in Russian so I can't understand it. :(

You could try Cubik2k's F2Wedit, probably the best one around. :)

That can be fixed with the 'Fallout 2 Hintbook' - you can make it be usable more than once. I did it ages ago. Consisted of swapping a couple of files, nothing too hard.

On a sidenote,

Wow, thanks that really helped. I used to do a lot of studying on weapons, their power, stats, ammunition types of every kind in the world, and their effects for mod projects. I also used to design 3D concepts, so I know a few things about weapon damages. :D I've adjusted a few values that didn't make sense. Surprisingly enough they got the jackhammer right. Every time I play a game with that weapon, you can usually hear me cussing over how they screwed it up entirely. haha

For those of us that find level grinding after confirming that we've done everything else possible in the game to be a bit tedious, what files be these?
 
sooo first ,killap, your da MAN!

awesome mod!!this brought me to take a break from FO3 and expierence the content i missed out on in the past.

I always had the feeling there where some loose ends here and there but i would have never imagined that it would be SO much, thx man!

Unfortunatly ive encounterd some minor but annoying bugs, i clarify my "stats" firts.


-OS= Vista(the graphics sometimes are fuzzy, but if i start and restart the game like 8 times the 9 time is usually fine^^)

-Clean Install of a german version

-your patch

ive done no further modifications or tweaks to the game, except for renaming the speech folder

-Ive played up to Vault city and handeld most of the quests available till there and in gecko.(except for the tribal village wanted to save that for later)

Now on to the Problems.

The most annoying is that Cassidy wont use the 14mm pistol anymore. he had a shotgun and shells so i gave him the 14mm and enough ammo for months. In the next battle he used the 14mm like a good boy.Later i orderd him to holster his gun and took the shotgun and shells out his inventory.
THEN in the next battle he just attacked with fists!
i thought he my be injured but after i checked(doc skill 65%)my PC says he looks healthy. He also wont equip the 14mm if i order him to use the best gun! How does that come???

Another thing is that a Scoped hunting rifle mysteriously dissapeard from vics inventory! I think it happend after i purchased the car but cant clarify this cause my savestates are pretty far of from another(stupid me), but i am SURE it was there(cause skeeter did it as a reward) and i would have never sold it at this moment.

thats all for now, as said im not trough the game by now.
If anyone would have some info on the two issues i would be gratefull

He shouldn't use 14mm, because he has only animations for Spear, pistol and rifle while 14mm uses SMG animation.

Are you sure it was in Vics inventory? Maybe he dropped it in some fight? Or maybe actually you were carrying it and the kids stole it.
 
I STILL haven't been able to get the game to crash again during the fight with Tyler in Den Residential.

But I have noticed another annoying bug - In Klamath, when I help Torr protect the brahmin, I go through the usual motions of killing the radscorpions, though before I kill ALL of them I accost the Duntons. I say that I'm interested in the job, but they simply tell me to bugger off, and when I finish killing the radscorpions and leave the pasture it says I have failed to protect the brahmin.

My rep in Klamath is high and my karma is >300 thanks in part to some messy work in the Den and a bit of work in Modoc. Perhaps this might have something to do with it? If not, I'm stumped.

You can't work for the Dunton's if you are too much of a good guy.
Also I take it you went to the eastern part of the Den before protecting the bramin. That will cause you to fail the quest even if you do everything correctly. It's a bug from the original game, but Killap has fixed it for his next release.

With the RP the allys change their look with different armours, he wore a leather armour(the one given by johnnys father) at that time and used the smg animation(wonderd bout that back then).
So i´m guessing he used the animation from highwayman/raider models with their black leather clothes and thus he was allowed by the game to use the weapon?

He now wears metal armour, gonna test this when i stumble bout the right armour again. While theres a lot of things that speak against my theory i cant come up with anything else^^

Vic had the rifle for sure, its gone.
Kids are in the orphanage, way before i got the gun.
Maybe its the fault of the terrible bag´o stuff?

In earlier versions RP used B-Team Armor Mod because of which NPCs were allowed to use any weapon while wearing some armor, but now NPC Armor mod is used instead and this shouldn't happen. Maybe, there are still some parts of B-Team mod left?

Do you think it would be a good idea to incorporate this mod? Would you consider adding it if someone made the necessary changes and fixed current bugs in the mod (optional addition?)?

Well, it doesn't really make sense to put that mod. In most cases, armor is rendered useless if you unload half of the clip in a guy.
 
Wouldn't Lootable Armour (realistic though it may be) make the game a bit too easy? It works pretty well for JA2 and JA2 mods, though...(I think there's a toggle now for 'drop all' and 'drop random' loot in the NI patch)..

I also agree that the FN FAL needs improvement in both it's range and damage stats vs. the .223 hunting rifle. As is, it's pretty much useless..being pretty severely outclassed by both scoped hunting rifle and sniper rifle. I've never tried the FAL at night with the night scope, though, so don't know how useful it is for night ops.

Also: any word on when RP v1.3 ships?

Offtopic: I've never been able to get the 'sexpert' trait. Have had sex with at least 10 women (3 at Klamath Bathhuse; 1 each Den & Redding; 1 at V.C.--plus Phyllis (not sure if she counts); 3 N.Reno Cat's Paw; 2 Bishop women; Modoc daughter)..but trait never shows up. What gives? Besides, what's it good for (other than all that good, clean fun)?
 
I don't like the Lootable Armour mod, I played it in Megamod and it was way too easy. The special encouter where a rat kills a bunch of dudes in power armor, you'd get their armors for your party. Wuppiduu
