Hello there. I'm new here and first of all I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who made this patch and helped us play this gem game !!!!!

My purpose here is to ask (cry) for HELP !!!!

The menu screen says Fallout II 1.02.25 RP 1.2. I have the RP installed.

And the huge issue I came across is that while in San Fransisco (I already got the vertibird plans and went through the square ring fight mission), after having visited the tanker once (only got the spleen mission, and left) I CANNOT ENTER AGAIN THE DOCKS AREA, BECAUSE WHEN I TRY THAT... THE GAME FREEZES !!!!! :? :? :?

When i try through the general map area, the game allows it BUT I CANNOT LEAVE (WHEN I TRY TO EXIT TANKER TO DOCKS.... GAME FREEZES) !!!!!

I also provide the save game slot , just in case is there a hex work around...

IDoes anybody know a aproximate date of the RP 1.3 release ???

You are suffering from the "too many items" bug. Download this program (from vad) and put it in your saveslot, where all the map saves are. Run 1.bat and that should take care of it. I didn't test your save in-game, but that program reported that some 30 maps had been corrupted. :shock:

Once you have fixed the maps you need to get rid of some stuff you, your party and your car are carrying around. Just so you don't keep corrupting your maps. You want to lose most of the things on this list.
 
I've found out why Vic wasn't leveling up correctly in my savegame. I had saved just before going to free Sulik's sister. When I did this, I got a message that me and Vic had leveled from the big exp bonus, and then we were transported into the tribe.

Well, I checked Vic and saw that he had 78/70 hit points. Then when I checked his save proto, I found out that he hadn't really leveled up at all. So, I started repairing his proto file, but then I thought "Could it be travel sickness?"

So I reloaded the save in the Slaver Camp, but instead of freeing her instantly, I told her to wait, which only gave me 500 xp. I went out, killed some random mobs, leveled up and Presto! so did Vic - correctly this time.

I'm posting about this here because there could be something about the insta-travelling from camp to tribe that interrupts the party leveling process, or at least stops it from leveling all the stats. I'll be testing this with other party members to see if there is something to it. Incidentally, I am using the "Remove NPC leveling randomness" option.

EDIT:
It looks like this problem is a lot more weird than I thought. Here's what seems to be the core of it: If I level up when I am either "downtown" in the Primitive Village (bonfire) or in the forest map at the entrance, Vic won't level up with me. For some reason, the shore map of the village works fine. Here's what I've tested and confirmed:
When I level up from delivering wood to the girl (shore map), Vic levels up with me.
When I level up from massacring everyone on the shore map, Vic levels up with me.
When I level up downtown in the village (quest or combat), Vic SAYS he levels up, but only his current HP go up, not his maximum HP or his skills.
When I level up in the forest map from killing critters, Vic does not level up with me.
When I level up anywhere else, Vic levels up with me.

I can send you a savegame to test this.
 
I updated program and bat files. Now to fix maps:
1. Unpack tmib.exe, FixAll.bat or Scan.bat into Fallout 2 directory. e.g. C:\Fallout2
2. Run FixAll.bat(fix without questions) or Scan.bat(ask about each corrupted map).

First I must say thank you for investing a lot of your time in such a great project for us to enjoy. I've recently found out about this mod and immediatly tried it because I'm a huge Fallout fan.

Unfortunately I seem to have a problem with the Restoration Project.
When I try to acces the the area with the robot and the crashed vertibird in Klamath, the game always crashes. This only happens after I install the Restoration Project, not with the original game. If I uninstall the Restoration Project the problem stays until I re-install the original game withouth installing the Restoration Project.

I've stopped playing the Project for now since I don't know which other areas might have the same problem and I don't really want to experience this problem after I've put many hours into a character only to see that I'm unable to continue.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem / is it a known occurrence with the Restoration Project or is this just happening to me?

I'm using the german version of the game.

I just got Marcus' metal armour upgrade in Abbey and Marcus has disappeared. He'll still say things to my other party members (Asking Myron to arm wrestle, etc.) and he still gives off a light radius at night, but I can't speak to him and he won't attack or anything.

Any fix for this, or should I just reload?

You are missing the frms for his armor for some reason. How did you install the game?

How did you install the game? This has happened to people before and it was caused by a bad install.

Oh come on, Mr.Wolna... the enviromental armor?; those are the best and perhaps only good looking sprites from FOT...

yes x'il and thats ecact the point!For FOT not Fallout! I do not fit to fallout, and it loks als not good in Fallout. It do not feet from the animatino and the palette is really crappy, too.

This FOT thinks are realyy the most fail in RP for me. I hope killap will maybe somedays addit not as basic pack but as an extra option for poeple who like that. Dont understand me false, please i like RP very much. Anyelse i and my "gyus" wouldn't t translate it into german. But this one little things i do not like!

Regular full install from a normal cd.

I'll be gone for a week, so I won't answer from now on, but I'll read anything written about my problem when I get back. Thanks a lot.

I have USB-Gaming's Portable Fallout 2 installation, with the restoration project installed with your Windows Installer. Also, the resolution patch.

I imagine it's probably got something to do with the Portable Fallout 2. Guess I'll have to go find my CD...

I'm pretty sure you need to get the bloodpatch. Just google for fallout 2 blutpatch or something and you'll find it.
The German version was censored and is missing some gore stuff, and since the RP uses the US fallout2.exe, your game is looking for things it cannot find, hence the crash.

You're right here. Sure, Environmental Armor itself is pretty cool, but from pure implementation problems (8 directions in opposite to 6) is looking AWFUL in Fallout engine, just like all critters from FOT. Not to mention about M-16 in rifle's animations! WTF? It's retro-future, right? Or did we travel in time? :lol:
