    Ive ignored Fallout Series that time it came out...

    It was the most retarded thing ive ever done..

    This game is so brilliant!!! I realized where Fallout 3 really came from!


    Killapp thanks so much for ur effort, work and sweat you put into this!

    And still your working on v1.3 rp...

    Question 1:
    ive been using 1.2 for now, just started some hours ago...
    will the savegames work with 1.3? ...

    Question 2:
    i got the US version of Fallout 2. All i did was installed it and put the RP1.2 over it.

    All is in english but i want to see, if i have more fun with german translation. Is there a way to get this english version with english rp working on german? Ive seen a translation for the RP, can i install it on top and everything then is german?

    Nvidia 8800 G92 official most recent driver

    No problems on modes 1024x768 / 1280x1024 @ 75 hz.

    Playing on standard resolution results in drugvision colors in videos, menu and gamegfx.

    I'm pretty sure only the text files that come with the RP is translated, not everything. So if you install German RP over an English game you will get a mixed language.
    Anyway, I believe it's doable. Just give it a try. If it fucks up you can always reinstall. :)

    got no problem with mixed language, thought so that this will happen.

    Anything else i need to make sure before mixing the cocktail?

    Ill backup the whole folder... sometimes size does not matter ;)

    Or what files i do need to backup?

    Is 1.3 worth replaying the first parts ??? I do not want to read all the 134 pages... Is it mostly bug fixing? Any new content?

    Yepp, if you are using the translation installer it will create the folder "German" in ...\Fallout2\DATA\Text\. You will need to rename that folder to "English". The old "English" folder is what you need to backup, or rather just move it to somewhere else.
    I tried it quickly and it seems like the whole game is translated, not just the RP content (or I was just lucky/unlucky with who I talked to).

    Edit: Actually there is no need to do any of the above, just edit fallout.cfg. Where it says "language=english" change it to say "language=german", or if it doesn't say anything about language just add it there yourself.

    1.3 will have both bug fixes and new content, though I can't say what that is. It will also have German as an option in the installer.
    I think it's worth replaying the whole game only for RP 1.3, not just the first parts. The question is more if it's worth waiting to play until it comes out.

    Just one thing really missing in this game:

    ITEM HIGHLIGHTS!!!

    Ive downloaded some ones work, called item highlightning or so...

    works! Items have a yellow border, i can find them much easier now..
    maybe Killapp could integrate this as well... does not take work and
    i guess there cant be bugs.. just a small gfx change!

    I always thought it'd be interesting if the PC was given the option of toggling item highlights on if he has a high enough perception.

    You're asking for something that already exists. sfall already lets you assign a key to toggle item highlights. (edit: although not in the version included in 1.2, so you'd have to update it yourself. 1.3 presumably will.)

    really? i was just going to search for hotkeys today... do you have any url for me :) ?

    edit: i coulndt find anything related to fallout 2 hotkeys at google etc.
    but found one here in the forum.

    It does not tell about specific item highlightning by sfall.

    How do i activate this function with sfall ? Im using Fallout 2 with RP 1.2, does it have sfall integrated? Can i update RP 1.2 with sfall without crashes...

    and how to: Adjust or remove the 13 year time limit

    i have too many questions... i know i know :)

    If you read and understand english, I suggest you to read the file called ddraw.ini in your directory of installation after having installed RP1.2.
    This contains all settings to modify a lot of thing in our game.
    We call this...
    Sfall.

    exemple:

    Sorry i've translate it in french but you have the same inclued in the RP1.2

    For your light, use the software call Mapper (the official one) and go to scenery and take the 140th one.
    It's a blue one (virge) but coresponding to a light.
    If you want to adjust the light of the total map, go read this tread about mapper:

    And Id say play 1.2 cause u dont know when 1.3 will come out. Plus, from what Bear dude said, 1.3 will have so much new goodies that it will be like playing another mod and not just 1.2 RE-done ;)

    Wow, thats a great feature! I did not know about it even thought I have been following sfall development closely.

    I'll wait for RP 1.3 for my next replay but what key is 42 on keyboard? Also would it be possible to implement this feature to sfall for fallout 1 also (currently replaying it)?

    Hello everyone!

    I'm pretty new here, but I'm a big fan of the Fallout universe, so that's why I tried Fallout 2 with Restoration Project 1.2 after playing Fallout 2 (not to mention Fallout 1 & Tactics) through dozens of times over the past years.

    My problem is, that I browsed many hours on google and on this forum about the famous elevator crash in EPA, but still can't figure out the solution for it.
    I know this is an old story, but I still can't figure out, what's the problem, after trying many confirmed solutions found on this forum and via google.

    - I have a clean install of Fallout 2 and Restoration Project 1.2, no other patches, etc.
    - I tried the "too many items" bugfix too, didn't do anything.
    - I even checked the list of scripted items (around page 35 of this forum, by Darek), and I don't have any on me of those nor my companions when I try to use the elevator.
    - I even tried it completely naked with no items, no companions, and nothing & nobody else on the map when leaving, still not working.

    @ kamikaze66, what do you mean about famous EPA crash? You must be more specific if you are having a problem, or no one will be able to help you out. I never get any EPA crash, but that doesnt mean it aint happening to you, so we will figure it out, I'm certain.

    Shit! Is this a gameplay issue about the fucking elevators?

    Nah it's nothing to do with the elevators, it's some map corruption that looks like the "too many items" bug, but vad's program says it's not so I dunno what's up. EPAMAIN.MAP and EPAWRHSE.MAP are broken for sure though.

    kamikaze66, you can sort of fix this by going into your savegame slot and replace the broken map saves with ones from a working save slot. You must have been to that location in your working save first though, otherwise that map will not exist in that saveslot. In case you don't have a working save, start your game, push Ctrl-R at the title screen, load up the map you need and save game to any available slot. It's not an optimal solution but better than nothing.

    As for the "too many items" bug, if you've already broken a map it doesn't matter if you try to go in naked. It's too late. So if you did have many of those scripted items before, please do tell. If not I don't have a clue either. I mean you got two broken maps, so something's up.
