There are no unarmored frames for Cassidy, so he uses that character model instead. Apparently that one is lacking weapon frames, but who's gonna play with him unarmored anyway? Your first problem sounds like ha has crippled limbs as mentioned.

That doesn't sound... eh... normal. I wonder if you are missing some frames for Sulik in leather armor. You could maybe try a reinstall of the RP Mod or wait for someone to give you better advice.
 
I vote that killap put everything available from the installer option into the manual install option. If you don't know how to install without the installer then you shouldn't be using that option. If you do, then you should have all options available.

or just to have all the files available, since Microslop Windblows 2027 sometimes fucts things up and we need to replace files from a bad installation
 
I had some problems with save games from F2 RP1.1. Now i'ts everything is ok! But...

Really, i can load my saves with RP1.2... but the damed car trunk is unusable! When i try to open it - it goes to inventory, so i can use car, but no using trunk... what am i going to do???
I use Alcohol 120% to mount .iso image of the game. This image made for me my friend from his official CD, i suppose it was an US version, but not sure... May it be of this reason?... i don't think so, but maybe... or maybe this bug goes from old save (from RP 1.1)?... also i'm not sure... ohhhh.... i want to use trunk! What am i going to do?
 
More bugs. The deathclaw in the Abbey, after being blinded, ran past the exit grid. I ended combat and hid somewhere to wait for it to come back, and it walked off to the right of the little cave, and started walking on top of the cave wall where I couldn't get to him. Eventually when he got to the edge, he disappeared, though I could occasionally see bits of him poking out from behind the wall. When I enter combat mode, I can't even see his outline.

Also, rigging Bishop's safe is still causing a crash for me sometimes. I'm running XP.

Key word is "sometimes" there. Those words haunt me as a programmer. Explosives is a problem with the Fallout engine, so nothing can really be done here.

There have been reports of the missing trunk before but I honestly have no idea what the problem is and have been unable to reproduce it. It is something we really need to get to the bottom of though.

Great job with the map! I haven't tested it yet, but I shall do so shorty.

Excellent. I shall look into what you said and hopefully fix the crash. Keep that save game handy for further testing.
 
Could the car trunk problem possibly be a 98/me problem? I've never seen this bug. Though if not, maybe adjusting the weight of the car trunk so that it's too heavy to pick up as an inventory item, like the shelves in Bishop's meeting room, would certainly help. Perhaps then they could experiment with clicking on different parts of the trunk. I remember that with the shelf I mentioned earlier, I would click on it, and my character would try to pick up the shelf rather than search it, but it gave me the "too heavy" message, and with that, I could choose another part of the shelf to click on.
 
Another test for you Darek. Does this fix the rotation crash for you? Also, I made a minor change to the map, so please test again whether it still works properly.

The types of weapons a critter/character can use is directly related to the available animations for that critter/character. So in your cases, Cassidy with no Armor or Sulik with Leather Armor, may not have the porper animations for whatever weapons you are trying to use, thus also causing the engine to not provide you with the proper options or not following through on them.

And of course crippled limbs will/may affect this as well.

I looked into this issue, it might be possible the proto file for the trunk is not set correctly. There is a "no pick-up" flag I believe that can be set and/or setting the trunks weight to something ridiculous like 999 (as Omegawolf mentinoed - beat me to it) would definitely stop the player from being able to pick-up and put it in his/her inventory.
 
I've had Sulik use his sledgehammer in leather armor, so that's probably not it. I'd go with crippled, or having his weapon preference somehow changed to range. Although I did have a slight problem with Sulik. He doesn't equip the sledgehammer on his own like he used to. I have to tell him to equip his best every time I want him to use it, otherwise he goes unarmed.

You're right that there are a few different possibilities as to why something will work or not. For your sledgehammer issue, is there any other melee weapon in his inventory?

I'm not sure but the engine might show preference for a melee weapon that takes less AP to use over one that simply does better damage when also considering skill level.

So if Sulik's Unarmed skill level is equal or higher than his melee and a punch is less AP than swinging a sledgehammer, then even though the sledgehammer might do more damage, the engine might consider more punches better or less than more powerful swings.

Would be nice if someone could tear into that calculation and tell us exactly what it's doing. :help:
 
Awwww... ;.; I just completed the vault village quest by offering a peaceful solution right off rather than agreeing to get the weapons, and it appears I didn't get any exp for the quest, or the money I would have gotten otherwise.
 
Glovz is right. I have Sulik armed with an HK90c SMG, but when he charges an enemy and doesn't have enough action points to use it, he uses his fists. Most often, until the battle ends and I can talk to him to change his combat settings, he will keep using his fists instead of the SMG or Louisville Slugger he has. Must be just the game AI.

What did you do? What do you mean by taking the peaceful route right off?

I mean when they asked me to go get weapons for them, instead of agreeing, I told them about McClure and a possible alternative instead of taking the money and agreeing to buy the weapons.
 
I have some bug reports. Sorry if they've already been mentioned, I only checked the wiki.
- The screen fades to black and the game hangs after seducing either sibling in the slaughterhouse in Modoc as a female. EDIT: It only happens if I'm sneaking.
- Graphical glitch after loading a game in Primitive Tribe: http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/7585/scr00017ny2.png Reloading fixed the problem.
- You can talk to the leader of Primitive Tribe even if the guard didn't let you in - just stand in front of him and you can initiate conversation. http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/7292/scr00018ll6.png
- Typo in the conversation with the Primitive Tribe shaman: "The so-called demon that you speak of is the ghost of a young women[...]"
- Typo in the conversation with the Primitive Tribe leader: "[...]What brings you to our our village?"
- The conversation with the leader of the Slaver's Camp can be initiated twice: first time manually by clicking on him from a distance, then approaching him triggers it again.

So you were able to talk to the old Ian look-alike guy behind Cassidy's bar BEFORE you talked to Connar in Vault Village? Or you're saying the dialogue options came up as if you had?
 
I talked to Connar first, told him about McClure, then I talked to Joe and explained the alternative to him. (When talking to him about the weapons he's the one that talks about McClure, but it went the other way around in this case.) I was able to complete the quest that way, by talking to McClure, then the Brain, and so on as normal, but I got no exp or anything when I went back and told Connar that Vault City would leave them alone.

Yeah, I can rotate the map now.

Unfortunately I returned the Win Me computer today, didn't think I would need it anymore, so I can't test anything.

I can probably get it again later if it's something important.
What did you change? Also, are there any more winx9 only related bugs?

I removed the invisible blocker you said caused problems and placed a new one a hex over. I also noticed that under the invisible blocker there were 4 scroll blockers stacked on top of each other. Perhaps that was what was actually causing the rotation crash.

I don't think so. There is still the unknown cause of the car trunk bug, but I don't know if we concluded it was Win 9x only.

I should mention that I used to 1st release of the full automatic installer and have applied manually the individual updates which have been since released. Is there anything bad which can happen if I install the files again? Is it as simple of backing up my savegames and re-installing RP1.2? Can I install over the same copy or should I do a full re-install? Thanks.
By the way, I love this mod, I've stopped playing Oblivion to play this through so I think this goes to show the longevity of a great game.

Backing up your save games (just to be safe) and then reinstalling the RP will work just fine.

Is refusing the only way to trigger the crash? The reason I ask is that both refusing and accepting take you through the indoctrination. Thus, both paths send you through the same nodes and the same variables being set.
