Of cource, it was the trap thing :D
Thanks, i waited to sleep with her. I knew there was something with those traps, have only 70.

Time to go for the Quad Made man :D

I'm having the problem of not being able to get the quest to find Jonny in Modoc, and it doesn't seem to be related to my Charisma or reputation. When I speak with Balthas, he tells me he doesn't want to discuss his personal life with strangers. I'm idolized in Modoc in my current save. I have solved the ghost farm quest, and convinced Karl to return to Modoc. I tried my save from when I first entered Modoc, but I wasn't able to get the quest at that time either.

(Sorry if this has been covered already; there doesn't seem to be a thread-search function.)

Again from The Nearly Ultimate Fallout 2 Guide

[spoiler:3574d0ae91]The leatherworker Balthas is missing his kid. To find this out you need PE 6, to offer to look for Jonny you need IN 6, and for Balthas to give you the quest your standing in Modoc must be Neutral or better.[/spoiler:3574d0ae91]
This really belongs in the RP 1.2 gameplay thread though.

well, hello there.
i certainly hate to register just to cry for help, but ahwell.

first of all, i greatly apreciate all the work that's gone into this project. i just started playing FO2 again and discovering the RP was like getting an early christmas present.

anyway, i have a problem.

the moment FO2 tries to load the "Primitive Tribe" location, the game crashes and returns to windows (no error messages).

i have no idea why.

i used the german FO2 version 1.2 and applied the RP 1.2 installer, after applying the bloodpatch from fallout-files.de (i doubt it has anything to do with this, since it only adds cut out bloody-animations and kids). after that i renamed the text directory to "german" and that's it.
i'm running the game on win98se.

i didn't encounter any other problems so far, but i'm not that far into the game yet. (just finished all Klamath quests)

so, if anyone has an idea how to fix this, if it's fixable...

my hunch is that the program can't find the map files for the tribe area. but that's just an uneducated guess.

thanks for anyone straining his brain for this.

@ bashed_monkey,
Are you sure you have RP 1.2 and not 1.1?
That crash was in RP 1.1 and affected win9x only. I was pretty sure me and killap got that fixed,
at least it stopped crashing for me and there haven't been any more of those crashes reported until now.
I don't know anything about the German version, if it's different somehow, but it sounds odd that would be the problem.
So make sure you really are using RP 1.2. If you are, try to uninstall everything (keep your saves) and reinstall and see if that helps.

Edit: Ignore this post, I'm just rambling. It's fixed for the upcoming RP 1.3 and nothing else.

hm, thanks Darek.
i'm using RP 1.2, i'm sure. (downloaded it from this thread and the installer has 1.2 in the name  )
i just reinstalled and the problem persists.

i doubt that it has to do with the german version, otherwise i'd probably have more problems.
it's probably just my system being old and grumpy.

dunno what else to try, except maybe applying the patches in a different order.

edit:

i wonder, because according to the technical wiki:

"OS-Related System Crash - CTD when entering (loading) the Primitive Tribe map under Windows 95/98/ME. - Fixed, release pending. - fixed for 1.3 (unreleased)"

so, if i can believe this, the problem is still in 1.2, but is fixed in the yet unreleased 1.3 ?

because then it would make sense and i wouldn't have to worry that my system is just dying again.

overlooked this earlier, otherwise i wouldn't have reported it.

Ha ha ha, it was even me who wrote the "fixed for 1.3" part.
You are indeed correct, sorry I got confused.

If you want you can get the fixed map from this post. Just put it in your Fallout2\data\Maps folder.

cheers

Future request...

First time i pick a character with Fast Shot
Tag: Big Guns/Throwing...

Problem with Fallout is that there aren't much granades to buy or to loot. Maybe an option for shopkeepers to sell more of them.
Vault City 2x2 granades
New Reno, NCR & SF sometimes
Only get Plasma granades by killing near SF the Hobologist & those Punks./Mauraders or whatever they be called.

Playing after ending is not possible.

Maybe I found a bug.

After I killed the boss and walked down the stairs the exploding-oil-rig-video was played twice and then the main menu was shown.

AFAIK I should be asked if I want to continue the game but I wasn't.
(This is the first time I played it completely so maybe I just made a mistake while playing)

*This has not yet been added to the installer/archive. You will have to apply this fix seperately.*
Going to the Enclave with the Vertibird would result in the ending slides not displaying correctly as well as being unable to continue playing the game. Grab fix here (Extract this .rar and copy the two files inside to your fallout2/data/scripts folder and overwrite what is there.)
Give it a try, and read the whole first post for additional info on bug fixes.

I have read the whole post.
I went to the Enclave by tanker, so I thought it should work.

Also there's a not before the fixes which says that they are in the installer now.

Oh, ok I did not know that. Then I have another theory. Maybe you are trying to leave the oil rig through the wrong exit? It's the north-west door of the room with Frank Horrigan, not the one to the south-east.
If you go the wrong way I think it counts as if you stay on the oil rig and get caught in the explosion. You die and therefore you can't continue playing.

The exploding oil rig movie playing twice is a bug, but I don't know if the bug is only that it's being played two times, or if there is a mix up, and that instead of the explosion there is supposed to be a "you have died" screen one on one of them. I can't remember how it was in vanilla Fallout2.

The last 3 fixes are not in the installer

Amazing mod!!!! Love it, 5/5

I am not sure if you are capable of doing this, but do you think that by any chance you could make the Vertibird v1.4 mod compatible with your Restoration Project mod?

Or should the creator of THAT mod make it compatible with your heh?

Once again, you made a great mod!

Hey Killap, can you like fix up this thread or make it a stick with only the essential information. I don't want to have to read through 69 pages. Also you don't really have a complete and easy to find change log.

Just wanted to add that I love this project; thank you Killap.

Is there a walkthrough for the project anywhere?

It would certainly be much more convenient if there was at least a way to search the thread.

I always went through the south-east door. Next time I'll try the other one. I've started a new game yet anyway.
