How do you know that it was intentioned like this, but it makes no sense at all ?
Because if they wanted the bodies to be there from the start, they would have been there. They did not make the bodies appear after you talk to Marcus by mistake, that's just not how things work.

@ Goweigus,
You don't need more than 4 int to get the quest. Ask Marcus about news, ask if there's anything else, again ask if there is anything else and he will tell you of the missing people.

Ok, I got an interesting game crash. I am rerunning Fallout 2 with the restoration mod. My PC is running Microsoft Millennium Edition.

My problem is that the when I tried to complete the rescue of Sulik's sister from the slaver camp and move off the board, my PC screen changes into an unusual tint of purple and then the game crashes. I have tried this several times without success.

Hoping to get into the primitive tribe without going through the slaver's camp, the game also crashed when entering the map.

What's up?

Interesting thing- character movement did slow down while I was in the Den. I restarted and everything was fine.

I ran a search for the this problem but have not found an answer. Any help?

@ Welsh,
The primitive Tribe area does not work on Win9x systems. You can get a fixed a map from this post. Just put it in your Fallout2\data\Maps folder.

As for your "purple" problem, I've never heard of that before.
Any chance you could put up a screen shot, and maybe a save game as well?

Thanks for the help Darek- but I think the odd colors are just something that has to do with resolution problems. Its more of an odd red tint.

I suspect its a graphics problem as another response has pointed out- the problem of characters moving slow may be due to a graphics problem.

Interesting- but when I was running Windows 98, I didn't have a problem with the primitive tribe. Strange

I will try the fix and get back to you. Thanks.

Cheers,

Edit- yep, that did it. Smooth transition. Happiness! Thanks again for the help!

More so than you know, since that makes you the first I've seen saying that. There was something wrong with the tiles on that map, something that only affected win9x systems, but apparently not all.

Anyway, you're welcome. :)

The updated Primitive Tribe map will be included in 1.3.

No set release date yet, but I can assure you it is VERY soon.

@Darek
Thanks for helping with the various technical problems people are having. I appreciate it!

Hehe, maybe I'm just trying to keep you away from here so you can work on 1.3 :P
You're welcome, it's no biggie.

I experienced this issue myself. I was running into Becky's to finish a quest, and the game slowed to a crawl. I saved, exited, and restarted, and it was fine. It's the only time I've seen such slowdowns so far. I'm running in WinXP, not ME.

Before explaining the problem I'm currently trying to fix (unsuccessfully) I'd just like to thank killap for making such a brilliant mod - its added tons of replayability to Fallout 2 - particularly the "new" areas.

The issue I had was that when exiting the Shi temple in San Francisco the game would lockup with the "map loading" spinning world icon. After trying several other save slots I resorted to reinstalling F2 from scratch.

With a clean install of F2 (bar the savegame folders), plus v1.2.2.2 of the Restoration mod the problems got worse - now all my save games cause the game to lock up with a black screen and the following Windows error message "fallout2.exe - The instruction at 004f11db referenced memory at 00000010". I can start a new game, and load it successfully but can't load any old savegames.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I spent the last month or so playing through F2 with the Restoration mod and am really hopeful my savegames can be "recovered" so I can keep of playing with the same character.

@ lizardgun,

All the save games crashing happened to me once when I was testing someone else's save on my install. Iirc they started working after i re-installed my game. It may have something to do with what "extras" you choose in the installer. So I would suggest you try a re-install with the exact same settings you had the first time.
If you already did, then I don't know, but maybe something got screwed and a re-install might fix that, anyway it's worth a try.

As for your original problem, I'm pretty sure that is caused by the "too many Items" bug, just scroll down until you find it. It is fixable.

Or you could wait for RP 1.3, it's expected to be done within the next 20 days. (Restart necessary.)

This happened to me as well. But since I was able to fix it as you said I didn't consider it that big of a problem.

Thanks for the suggestions Darek. I reinstalled F2 and the Restoration Mod (with various combinations of options ticked) but all the savegames keep crashing. Having sunk about 1 month of solid gaming into that character its really upsetting, but I suppose from the info in the readme there really isn't any new content after San Francisco so I know pretty much what to expect.

Sorry to hear that, but if you want me to, I can have a look at one of your saves. If you could put it up somewhere or I can pm you my e-mail. Not promising I can do anything with it though.

Will it include the latest version of sfall?
Of course.

Anything included in the RP which has been updated since the 1.2 release will be part of 1.3.

Question: With this mod, is it possible to ask miria to wait on the spot after she joins me? I fint it extremely frustrating that I in vanilla cant infiltrate navarro without divorcing or killing her... :(

yes, she is..... but there is always the possibility killap will do it. he made the actuall mod for her compatible once, just hasen't don't it again. Well we can only hope :D
