I suspect that every updates which You made in past are included in installer, right??

And my secound question, probably you will have no clue about it but still worth to ask.
Is there translating pack to polish language for RP 1.2??
I just found one for 1.1, will it work on 1.2?? :x
The RP 1.2 installer version is multilingual, polish language is included.

ooo tyvm :D

Alright, next questions strike:
Will your patch work on polish version of game?
i have a lil strange bug: when im going to diffrence location on map i have something like random meeting, but im just on empty desert, and it is like that per few centimeters on map :x

@ killap,

That slott01 save I sent you don't seem to be able to produce the crash (not using the poo script fix), and I don't have any other good saves from before I've entered San Francisco.
My own save where I manged to get the crash was not from that save, and I was already in San Fran.

But looking at Golan2072's save, it will crash the game pretty much every time if the shit is not shoveled away (even with the poo script fix). So I would say it's not working unless it's only effective if it's in use the first time you enter Chinatown. But I can't test that unfortunately.

Did you do any testing, and if so, did you find anything?

What is missing from my slot01 save to make it crash? I don't think it's about party members, cause I was solo in my save that would crash. Maybe because I haven't been to Navarro or the military base? Meh, it's annoying.

I haven't been to SF this time yet, but been downloading every fix I noticed, even so. This 'zibrapoo.int' is the only one that has not asked me to overwrite an existing file, so I'm wondering if I am missing something else?

zibrapoo.int was only in the master.dat file before, so you are not missing anything.
But if you have a nice save for me, where you've been to the military base or Navarro but not San Fran, you can make me happy. :)

Thanks Darek.
I thought somebody wrote that killap had fixed this with one of his patches, but must have been a question and not a statement.

Sending you the saved game via PM link. Just arrived at Military Base - No visits to SF or Navarro yet.

Is it possible to get a guesstimate on the amount of items (I'm assuming it is a certain amount of item types, i.e 90000 pistol rounds wouldn't cause it) which causes the bug?
No idea. Just don't fill your trunk with every item you find out in the wastes.

Also: Do special encounters reset their containers? If not, I suppose they will be where I keep my hoards.
If by special encounters you mean ones like the Bridgekeeper, etc then most do save the state of the map. Many do not though. I am not sure if this is a complete list, but the following special encounters won't save items placed on the map:

Woodsman Encounter
Unwashed Encounter
Holy Encounter 1
Guardian Encounter
Toxic Encounter
Mad Brahmin Encounter

See, this doesn't make sense. The code I added is supposed to run when you exit the map. Code was already in place to run when you enter the map. Only code that is in the start procedure or after the map_first_run function will run when the map is first entered.

No, I haven't tested anything yet.

I was re-reading Per's guide regarding the too many items bug and the crash we are experiencing is exactly what is described.

Per's guide said:
The bug triggers upon leaving an area, and means that next time you try to enter that map, your computer will lock up completely. Many people have reported this behaviour; you'll notice how the "orbiting rocket" mouse pointer shows up on the screen, but doesn't animate. The hard drive might buzz for a while then fall silent. Depending on your system you may have to turn your computer off entirely.

The thing is Golan's save doesn't seem to have that many items. Then again, I didn't look at the NPCs or if he had the car (and it is stuffed to kingdom come). So it seems the poo is the cause of the crash here.

TwinkieGorilla's crash may be the result of having too many items. He has a carrying capacity of 999 and 2 npcs with him. I didn't see if the car is there stocked with items - but I will assume it is. The fact that his game didn't crash when he came alone is very telling and seems to fit my hypothesis here.

Info:
-Windows XP
-UK, v1.1, Humongous installation
-F2RP 1.2,Windows Installer
-no other mods or patches

Right after the splash screen the screen turns a wonky shade of white and an unreadable(because of the weird coloring) error message appears. Clicking on the error message closes FO2. Exiting FO2 causes the error message to disappear. I've never had anything like this happen without F2RP installed.

I can not express the sheer awsomness this means to me :). As a long time fallout fan (I got fallout 1 when it first came out, same with F2), I have played with a fan made patch before, but this seems to be so much better on so many levels :)

One question tho: Do I need to do anything appart form installing the game and the Fallout 2 Restoration Project ?

Alos what is the difference of "My unofficial Fallout 2 patch" and "Fallout 2 Restoration Project"? do I need the first one?

Otherwise, great job, looking forward to testing it :)

Nope. Check http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/F2RP_Technical_Info

Nope. The patch just fixes alot of bugs. The RP also adds alot of content.

@ killap,

Talking to Juan and Vikki is not needed, in fact, going down to the Hub base is not needed at all. Man, that was a waste of time.

I'm starting to think it's some form of the too many items bug, as well. What do we know of it?
Is it the total amount of items, or only the total number of unique items that are on the map?

On my crash save I've noticed the following:
To have more than 1 of every item in my inventory seems to make no difference.
Where the items are (inventory, NPC, car trunk), seem to make no difference.
Have narrowed it down to some 70 unique items, but am far from done yet.
On a save that won't crash I had more than 80 different items, so it seem to matter what items I have. (if it's gonna fit my theory at least)

Hey do you know if the Miria Enhanced Patch works with your Restoration Project, Killap?

It won't work, as is. However, if Morticia sees this (and if you are very nice to her), then she can give you step by step instructions to get it working. Be advised, you will also need a critter editor to do this, but it is simple.

Killap, thank you for all of your hard work on this! I've got a bug.
Another episode of the missing car.
This is a post-fix error. I parked my car at the NCR, went to the Slaver's Camp with the Rangers, triumphed, went to the Tribe with Sulik's Sister, walked out to the woodlands to find no car. Walked to the Slaver's Camp, no car. Walked to the NCR, no car.
I've reinstalled your June 11th car fix, but that's done nothing.
I may have to go the game without the car, which I can do. It will makes things take much, much longer, especially since I'm getting encounters with raiding parties of 12 marauders! Half with H&K Caws and PC90s. It's impossible.
What to do about the car?

Using Miria mod is on Vault-Tec wiki since others asked about it.

http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/Miria_mod

Works fine for me so far, but no guarantee it won't break or crash something in Restoration Project, so don't bitch at killap if it does!

@accqrd,
Did you get the fix for this from the first page of this thread?
