Hi! Since you are here. Are you going to fix Miria for Real! mod? The leveling up problem seems to come out not only on my pc (as in wiki), but I never had any Vault City problems as some other gamers mention-I'm still testing Tungu's version-except model problem(Miria turned into primitive women) no problems so far(however he supposedly too have a Vault City problem).

BTW - Are you in contact with the translator group, that is right now translating the Restoration Project newer versions into Czech? They use partly RP 1.3 translated files (1.3 has been completely localized into czech if i remember correctly) and use a Notepad ++ to trace all changes and differences. Kinda nice. :mrgreen:

In EPA, level with imprisoned, deformed people. There is vent, where you have "hand icon", but whatever you try doesn't seem to do anything. Is it bugged or I missed something?

I found there also a drill item (which is probably leftover from previous versions of this mod), and doesn't seem to do anything.
Also found "small piece of machinery" item, and this also doesn't seem to be needed anywhere.

This room, with toxic wastes... I know, that in previous versions of this mod, you could find gas mask somewhere on surface. Now there is no gas mask. Also it seems that this room has no purpose right now...




And now, biggest bug I found (still it's not THAT big bug.)

Yeah, so at this autodoc, where you can change appearance, there is bugged text.
The lowest choice is "Leave conversation"
Other 3 are for changing appearance (don't remember which one is which).

For your first line of "bugs", like the vent and a "missing" gas mask, you should check this walkthrough http://hem.bredband.net/darek1/f2rp_wt.htm#epa

For the character changer, this error has been already reported.

For the ideas, these should go into a Suggestion RP thread.

I'll do a Miria for Real! mod compatible with the newest version, if more than Five people send me an email to Templayer@seznam.cz . If they do, then i'm going to wait for the new, more bug-free release (Christmas ! YAAAY) and then do some kind of magic. 8-) :mrgreen:
 
Hey I don't know if this has been asked before, but does the restoration project only work with new save files, or all save files?

Voting status: 3hree votes for making the Miria for Real! from Grandson of Sam compatible with the future christmas RP edition !!! :mrgreen:

Killap, Christmas'2010 (and NY 2011) is near - maybe also the new almighty fabulous 2.2 mod with good Multilingual (especially Polish) support... please.

Then get a group of english-to-Polish translators and start translating the files. And if there already is such a group, then join them. :silly:

Because you cann't think that Killap will translate into many languages alone, he can maximally contact the groups and make the RP more language friendly.

BTW it wouldn't be such a bad idea to make a list of RP translating groups, so we (normal users+developers of RP) would have a list of what languages will be in the multilanguage support. :mrgreen:

After all bugs of this release will be squashed, then i think you could finally do a 2.2 version. Or a 2.1something and then a 2.2 version. :notworthy:

(Making a Van Buren Restoration Project?? Calling it Fallout 3? Too bad, it is just in my dreams :twisted: ) :roll:
 
I would like to see Van Buren Restoration Project as well especially since the game was almost completed. Unfortunately that files are copyrighted and they will probably be never released :(. As far as Polish translation I could try to contribute as well but there are two things unfortunately. Firstly I'll have to get rid of my computers in near future and I don't know when I'll get another one. Secondly I'm not a programmer just a simple user (ok-I was working at help desk for almost a year but still don't know anything about those hex's,compiling,runtime's and other weird stuff ;)) so if I get a text or doc file I can do some more or less accurate translation to another text or doc file but searching,mixing or programing any .dat or other files are just out of my reach.

Edi: Btw.After I read my post I guess we are going little out of the topic to this thread title. On the other hand those are quite important things.

Yeah we should stop this offtopic talk. So let's talk about about Miria for Real! glitches and bugs with Restoration Project ..... cause i think that's exactly one of the things this thread is for. RP glitches and bugs. I presume. :)


I need to ask, before i try to find using tools, how is it possible, when i change all the neccesarry things like critter lists and such, so the Miria files do not override or replace things it shouldn't, that my Miria levels up fine up until the LAST level, and upon reaching the final one, reverting into the first one ?? RP devs ? :hide:

Also the Vaut city crashes, as written on wikipaedia? Using my compatibility mod? Cause it didn't happen for me, and i dunno what link does Miria have with Vault city, that would make the game crash if changed somehow.

To others: Ok, you can end spamming my email with votes, now let's wait for next stable release of RP (Christmas version) :mrgreen:

EDIT: I will use the EDIT button a little more, 'cause it looks like someone doesn't like me posting here. My mapper is fully functional, i already checked one error with my old version of RP and my compatibility mod for Miria For Real!, but i am unable to solve it until i reinstall my game. I'm going to wait with that until the next version of RP. Miria Lovers, Stay Tuned :twisted: . BTW i still do not get Vault city crashing, as people reported with compatibility MIRIA mod. My car hoewer dissappears upon entering Vault C., and has wrong location in the savefile (solving that manually). :crazy:

Well, I have sent an email to Killap asking him to send me the installation files (Czech version using its own installer) like 3 month ago. Killap was probably quite busy at that time and he never answered.
During that time I stopped working on translation and so everybody else. This is the story. I might start with translation again after the new version of RP is out. Right now I am playing FoNV and working on something else.
Templayer, I won't kill you (not right now) but if you are really bored you can help with translation.
 
Okay, so two more bugs for me (it seems we must hurry up lol)

I played a game with a very very bad caracter and just decide to kill everybody to see what will be the movie at the end.

The two bugs I found were in Broken Hills (but I precise I didn't go to EPA and the Military Base). I started to attack rhe gards of caravan, but I didn't kill the bosses inside the house. I follow my way by the uranium purificator then I make a friendly visit to the crazy responsible of the group angainst mutants (the one asking you to get out some boys from the jail and to broke the mine air purificator).

When I kill him, a conversation windows open, I'm pretty sure it was with Chad, he was asking me what I was looking for, I answer I'm looking for proof he takes money, and he said something like he never let me do it. I didn't understand because I was far from him and didn't speack to Marcus (or even learn to enter his home).

The second bug is coming from Marcus. I killed him (and never spoke to him). Then I go to the other part of Broken Hill, killed everyone and go back to take my car. Marcus body was just missing. Vanished. All other bodies were here, just Marcus one was missing.

I will end with a bug I thing it's not RP responsability. As I said, I kill everybody. So the end movie was about all the city destroyed... but after explaining the death of all the citizen in the Vault City, the movie speack about Gecko, saying that Vault City was tired of the contamination (I didn't repear the plant), and they killed all the gouls (but I made it), and then they were enable to survive without power and the die slowly because of their xenophobia.

That's not logical. Two different end for Vault City.

In a smallest version, the same happen with the Den, in first the movie says the den vanished because of no economy but then Miron was killed in the Den...

That's all the bugs I notice for now. I'll probably go to EPA and Military Base to check, but normaly, my bad Karma (around -6000, childkiller, slaver, grave opening) shouldn't make a difference.


Edit : other bug, still in Broken Hills, but I think it's coming from the basic game. I killed the girl who sells the guns and other stuf. Then I took the complete stock (the container the closest of her room) and leave. But every few days, the container fill up again with armory, guns and stim. Pretty great bug no ?
 
The Chad bug is because he doesn't check what map he is on when he reacts to map variable 25
On Broken 1 map it's Jacob is dead, and on Broken 2 map it's if you enter Chad's house.

Should just add 'if cur_map_index == 79' in there I believe.

As for Marcus disappearing, it's not just him, all party NPCs behave in the same way (whether they are already recruited or not).
I did notice that dead NPCs didn't vanish from the surface EPA map, but they did in all the old locations I tried (broken 1 and 2, Sanfran and New Reno).
I think it's something in the engine and not a bug, though I haven't looked into it much so I'm not sure.

Regarding the game endings for an evil character: I had the same experience with Fallout 1. I was killing everyone to "preserve the secret existence of the vault." Several of the endings were contradictory. For example:
[spoiler:7fd712fbde]I wiped out everyone in Shady Sands and killed the Khans (raiders). The raiders then were no longer an effective force in the wastelands. The Shady Sands ending had Aradesh dead, Tandi missing (her body disappears after you kill her) and the town council trying to continue without him (even though I already killed everyone), just to have Shady Sands wiped out by the raiders (who were both, already dead).[/spoiler:7fd712fbde]Both of these games seem to not be designed for running a vicious psychopath that kills everybody.:twisted: They will check for major character survival and deliver one of the pre-recorded endings for a given location, which may contradict with the ending for another location.
Correcting this in the game might be difficult. Killap :notworthy:, or someone working with him, would have to script a new, more integrated set of endings for FO2RP, and someone would have to record new narrator dialog. I doubt if Killap could get Ron Perlman. It would be hard to get someone else with a voice as distinctive as his. :boy:
 
I think the Collect tribute from Renesco quest if bugged. I manage to get a "discount" from him but instead of being able to buy all his inventory for free I am stuck with normal prices.
