Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1.2b (Unofficial Expansion)

I went through a large list on the bug wiki this past weekend and I hope to get through the rest by the end of this coming weekend. Hopefully.

I still need to figure out what I'll do with The Primitive Tribe changes. I might just scrap my plans for it, but that would be a shame.

Once all the above is done, there will be another round of testing. That will be the last of it and then things will go public.
 
It's amazing how Killap is trying to improve its restoration Project which is already close to the perfection...thank you Chosen One bear :)
 
Did you get a chance to improve the Kaga scripting so he won't run for a couple turns then stop dead where the player can still attack him?
 
Just making a mandatory post about how much I appreciate killap and wish him strength and time for this project.

I believe so and the first round of beta testers haven't complained.

I always appreciate the support. While almost all my friends think I'm crazy to mod such an old game (and for so long), I'm always amazed that there are so many people out there still playing the early Fallouts. And while I don't think I'll ever be able to play Fallout 2 again, or at least for like 20 years, I do hope to leave behind a much more enjoyable experience.

I know what you mean, I've done so much with Fallout 2 it's difficult to enjoy, that's why other projects keep the "Fallout love" fresh, that or a frontal lobotomy. Any idea as for how much time before the next round of testing goes ahead Mr.Bear Dude. :wink:

Killap it's just a shame the people wont be able to throw you a little party after it's all done and dusted, you deserve one.

You are crazy! If you were my friend and I knew that for years you've been modding and fixing a game that is 14 years old that would be my sentiment.

Having said that, I think the job on this restoration project has been amazing and the dedication is just fantastic. It's thanks to you that I could play the game for the Nth time now with bug fixes or new places to go, or additional quests/dialogue.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next public build and I understand this obviously can't be some kind of life commitment.

My friend actually downloaded the current build a couple of weeks ago, so there's obviously good reason to continue.. you've got people everywhere using it :)
 
im running fo2 through wine its says that sfall is running but i do not get the SCRN button on the options. After alot of fiddling with wine cfg it seems to work ok, but i try entering the den and all i get is a black screen as if the map is non existent. I can see my character running around but cant exit the map or anything

Did you set-up permissions of data/ files only to read? chmod 444 ....
If not, fallout is rewriting files from master.dat so that would make your problem.
i think the only solution is to reinstall RP and make a new game

nope only data/proto/items/* and data/proto/critters/* afaik
 
my weapon animations now look like they did in the pre patched game. just a small bug, can it be fixed? i liked the look of my guy bringing rifles up to eye level before firing(instead of from the hip)
 
Nevermind. I forgot to talk to Mason. I did find a similar bug earlier from Broken Hills purifier quest, and I had to exit the dialogue box and talk to him again a couple of times before it appears. Marcus dissapears too, BTW.

Scrapping of any plans sounds terrible! Unless you are reconsidering your modding retirement once again, I'm begging for a full glory of the Primitive Tribe.
