Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

I mean your case is not enough to say they're bugged/not working correctly. If you attacks 1000 times and records all hits are critical or not, that would be more reliable.

Hey... thanks to Killap for all his hard work!

Critical hits - started a new character and chose these perks as I lvld up..
More criticals 1, 2 and 3,
Better criticals
Luck 9

Hardly had any critical hits while in combat...

Started again with a new character with NO critical perks and a low luck of 6... But now im getting 2 or 3 criticals every combat ! ??

Just wondering if the critical chance and perks are not working correctly. ??

What is your critical hit rate are you free aiming or making targeted shots? Free aiming reduces your chances of critically hitting. I'm not 100% sure on that. But I think that's how it works.

Never heard of it, any source?

It only says "using an aimed shot instead of a regular one increases the chance of a critical hit", no mention of any reduction of critical chance if not using aimed shot.
I don't think they have the same meaning.

I always use the 'Fast Shot' perk.
I think you'll agree though that using 4 critical perks and getting hardly any criticals
VS
no critical perks and getting at least 3 every fight is odd

Any way just though i'd report it in case there was a problem with the RP 2.3.3

Cheers

That might explain why you're not seeing them that often. I've noticed that when you fast shot enemies you don't get criticals as often but you should still be seeing them. Maybe you should try reinstalling your game and the restoration project to see if that helps any?

I am seeing them - a lot! read my posts again - I get 2 or 3 per battle

Im not seeing them as often when I have all the critical perks however.

Hello and sorry for ask again

NovaRain I changed the % at worldmap.txt but still almost no encounters. Even with 90% for common encounters I rarely see one.

Also it seems Kaga is missing.

Maybe thats the reason. I will check those rocks next time :)

I dont know whats the problem or even if its related to the low encounter rates. The RP changelog says:

"Random Encounters:
------------------
• Fixed crashes with Kaga. Most cropped up due to saving/loading during his encounter, but this should also make his encounter more stable in general as well. Also potentially fixes the issue where you would encounter Kaga but the map would be empty."

Still so few encounters despite editing worldmap.txt and no trace of Kaga. What happened to the encounter rate option at ddr.ini?

No, the fix has nothing to do with your exceptionally low encounter rate.
If your travel speed is also too fast, which might affect your encounter rate, try increasing the value of WorldMapDelay2.

Cool that seems to increase the encounter rate for me.

Is there a charisma/speech check for breaking up the Redding bar brawl peacefully? Talking to both of them leads nowhere for me, except to jail...

If you take the dialog that mentions the Sheriff, there's a Speech roll equals to your skill. Other dialogs you put them to jail have a Speech roll equals to your skill + 2*your level, so they're easier to succeed.

This forum used to have a lot more members. This makes me quite sad....

The vast majority of the people I used to converse with and find in here do not seem to be active anymore. Is NMA dying out? :puppy-dog:

There are people hidden in the shadows, reading this thread, and checking for updates and new posts. No, NMA is not dying, we are just getting older.

This is my first post, so hello everybody. As an introduction, let me just mention fallout based stuff that I know and things for which I am grateful:
Wasteland 1,2 Fallout 1,2,3,NV,Tactics. Mods: Tale of Two Wastelands, Wasteland Merc, Fallout: Enclave, Restoration Project (thank you Killap, you are the best). Games using FOnline engine: FOnline 2238, FOnline: Ashes of Phoenix. Games like Stalker, etc... And personally I feel at home here.
