I know how it works, been tracking RP for 3 years already. I meant this upcoming update has taken way too long time than it needed ever, considering killap's prediction :P made in several months ago.

I have this somewhat irritating problem. Though you did sort out the vendor restocking bug in a previous update, the San Francisco vendors seem to stop restocking money properly, and it happens around the time when the restocking bug would normally occur (after a number of years). The Flying Dragon 8 stops restocking money all together and Red 888 Guns stocks ~1500 coins at only one of his tables.

Another bug I encountered is that I can't attack Kaga in the final encounter when he is wearing Advanced Power Armor, attempting to do so causes a CTD.

Here is my current save in the year 2249: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76002399/SLOT05.rar

It seems the fix for restocking bug doesn't work, gonna report it on the wiki page. And for Kaga issue, I'm not sure what happens to your save, trying to put the targeting cursor on him result a CTD without any error message. But in my saves his final encounter works normally (except his HP is wrong, displaying 800/441).

Must be honest about this... I´ve played Fallout 2 original version, on it´s time. Also first RP and RP 1.2. Ok, it was cool get a lot of bugs fixed. Now i tried last RPs from Killap. Well...
The last RP 2.3 doesn´t work. At start crashes with a message "error loading cities", so i tried RP 2.1.2b Ok, let´s face it, bugs fixed - nice. Some cool changes in character using armors - nice. Added cities... in Abbey at least i finally got a use for the light.
Slave camp to save Sulik´s sister - nice.
EPA... boooring and bring nothing to the game story. as the shi submarine. Useless content that brings nothing new to game story, just some more missions to do.
But the worst of this RP (wtf Killap????) is the major changes in graphics. This was probably made by some "The Sims" huge fan who filled the game with rugs, lamps, etc, changing the original game into something... ridiculous. The basement on the Oil Tanker... OMG!!!!!!!! nd those stupid rugs everywhere...
I laugh with the changes in Navarro when i saw the deathclaw i have to kill in a room with beds, a punching bag and other crap.
It´s just like piking up Mona Lisa paint and draw some flowers on her vests and draw some sun glasses to make her look cool.
So, next time, leave the game as it was originally created (visually).
By the way, to play that EPA booring location... better play Wasteland Merk.
I see that there's a lot of work in there but next time, instead of some "The Sims" change and aditional content make some "new game", as i said, like it was done with Wastelend merk.
Playing fallout 2 with RP 2.1 i just saw a masterpiece ruined by useless crap.
Sorry for the comment. Some people may like, some don´t. But it´s the opiniom of someone who played Fallout 1 and 2 when they appear on the market!
So Killap, if you have the intention to make another RP, remember: you´re not playing the Sims, don´t fill it with stupid objects. Respect the original game, Interplay and Black Isle. Bugs fixed it´s more than enough!!!!!!!

You can just install the unofficial patch, which only fixes bugs and nothing else.

Did you descend to the lowest floors? There's a lot of informations from the Fallout Bible, which adds some interesting lore-wise content IMO.

You get out of it what you put in. I honestly can't play Vanilla F2 anymore. I wouldn't call adding a few new environment pieces (which if I recall were already in the game to begin with) a big graphical overhaul. I think the RP stays true to the source material.

But to each their own! Try the unofficial patch and see if that's more along the lines of what you're looking for.

It's a minor mistake. The trouble in all these scripts is just that the local variable is never reset after use-- in other words the fix does in fact work, one time, but never again after that.

The larger question on the seven year time warp, that I've never seen addressed, is: how exactly is the bug expressed? Does the time flop negative, then continue to run backward, or does it reset to a maximum negative value and then start running forwards again?

The latter, the game ticks will become -2147483648 (0x80000000) at 12:19:25.8, May 16, 2248 in game.

This is yet another amazing release of Restoration Project! Congratulation and thank you killap for bringing us another compulsive re-play of this wonderful game:razz:. I would like to express my gratitude toward all the new play-able characters and custom object arts that were introduced in this version, making the game refreshing giving a new but not so new experience. Anyone who says other-wise should simply go play the Unofficial patch instead.

If only the time consuming dialog animations of talking, bartering, changing npc combat preferences etc can be disabled and made instant, it would be great. The animation is totally needless. And if both the player and merchant inventories are scroll-able, it would be so much better. I am a bit tired of clicking through merchants inventory while shopping. Thanks killap and all those responsible for this RP.

    @Imgoatlike

-- To make window animations instantaneous look over here. Or just copy ddraw.dll from this archive to Fallout2 RP folder and add two lines mentioned in Novarain's post to the end of your ddraw.ini. Adjust the settings to your liking, play the game.

-- To scroll through merchant's stuff, press and hold Ctrl while using mouse wheel.

Drobovik, thanks, I'd seen the solution about replacing the ddraw.dll before but I really don't feel like messing with the installation just yet. I think I will just hope for it to be implemented in the subsequent RP release. And the ctrl+scroll thing I will give it a try. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if I can get a list of known issues/bugs for RP 2.3.3?
I'm mainly interested if there are any heavy CTD bugs (some concerns I see) meaning I should stave off for a future version?

It wasn't really a mistake as much as a 'can't be bothered overdoing it'. As NovaRain said, time goes from positive to negative and then back to positive again. That should give you around 21 years which is longer than I've heard anyone ever play it for. I mean most of us don't even hit the 7 year bump.

As for Slippybro's problems, the tables in San Fran works exactly as first intended (as does the fix). There is only that one table that spawns $1000-2000 as it should be (and always has been).
What isn't working is the $2000-5000 the merchants are supposed to spawn in their own inventory every 1 to 3 weeks, and that's cause the fix was never applied to their scrips. They were simply forgotten.

    @ SorgFall
I wouldn't wait for fear of CTDs, the only known ones left that I can think of are 'super stimming someone and then leaving the map' and 'saving in combat if a party member has just died', and they are not likely to be fixed. Kaga and the Melchor fight also seems to be a bit more prone to crashes than other areas of the game, but as no one knows the cause of that it can't be fixed. We also have save game corruptions (thought to be mainly related to saving in combat), but those are far less frequent than reading these boards might lead you to believe. Other than that you may run into a couple of seemingly random crashes during a game. I mean this is Fallout, it will never be 100% bug free.
All that said, it is possible to go from start to finish without a single crash, I've done it a few times myself.

None really, I've gone black screen, eventually resulting in a crash in fighting ring events, but it isn't consistent so just save before you go into a ring.

Killap, you should win some sort of world-recognized prize like the Nobel Piece prize or something for the sheer amount of effort that you have put into this game over the years. Much love from a fellow Pennsylvanian <3

    Hey everyone. Happy New Year!

I'm stopping in again after a few months of hiatus. I know I did the same back in September and then disappeared until now, but hopefully I'll actually get to that update. As you can see, my absences are becoming longer and longer, but I do want to do another update and fix any lingering issues. Hopefully the wiki is busting at the seams with issues to fix. ;)

Hope all is well with everyone. And good to see @Darek and @NovaRain still alive and answering questions. :)

EDIT: Also, what all did I miss around here?

EDIT2: I'm sad to see posts in this thread of people complaining about bugs. I hope people realize that half the bugs I fix in each release are actually vanilla bugs and not bugs from the RP. And remember that this is an enormous game and thus you could play through it and never actually see a bug that someone mentioned. Lastly, the wiki list may look daunting, but that's because people are verbose in the reports (which is good) and it also looks like there are a ton of grammar/text correction reports, which inflates things. But whatever, I've learned long ago that many gamers are ungrateful and I've been doing this selfless work for 10 years, so I'll keep at it and keep giving you all what I hope to be a fun, extended experience in the Fallout 2 universe. For free I might add. And remember that there is always my unofficial patch which just fixes vanilla bugs.

Umm, well the RP was made possible thanks to the enormous help of several people. As for the text error reports on the wiki, well, guess what they seem to all be from the vanilla game.

Anyway, I'll be going through the wiki and fixing (or debunking) whatever is posted there. No timetable but sooner than later.
