EDIT: [spoiler:cf912e02fd]No, Dr. Franklin told me I had access to the room and I went in without talking to the quartermaster (this is after I solved the waterchip quest). Then I went in... and empty lockers. But, if I go back, and talk to the quartermaster then enter the room again, then I get knocked out.[/spoiler:cf912e02fd]
 
Im having problem at the water pump place.
The computer is apparently broken next to it and i can't install the water chip to it, but i don't seem to find away to repair it to install the water chip then and repair the water pump?

so how do i repair the computer next to it?
 
Just use the waterchip on the computer. If the repair skill-roll sucess, it is done. If your repair-skill isn't high enough, look around in this location. There are one or two deans electronic books somewhere. Also there must be a multitool.
 
Yeah it worked after i needed to decrease the game difficulty and tried few times, i had already read the electronic books, now i killed the Dr. Franklin and came to the desert. is this the ending of the part 1. i don't see away out of the desert you know :)

Very nice mod classic Fallout feel, I also agree on the amazingness of the Russian roulette part. I also liked the nice melding of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 gameplay elements.

My only issue, maybe I'm just terrible but i cannot get in the door in the ghoul vault. I have spent two hours looking for the key and doing all of the dialogs. Also an odd note, I hit the locked door out of frustration with a crowbar and it opened the door via the animation. However it's still closed and locked in reality. Nevermind what a classic fallout twist.
 
Go back to the upper level and then to the right side. There should be two dead ghouls. I am not exactly sure anymore... but one should have the keycard.

For me, this is pretty motivating. :P Now I got the idea again to make a kind of walkthrough or so, because there is so much stuff in the mod that players mostly will not find out while playing it the first (or only one) time.

Also I agree... again... that there are still some annoying bugs in the mod. With this videos I also saw stuff that I never realised before... as example, instead of doing the quest for the ghoul, just buy the chip from him... ah, well.
 
I haven't played this mod (yet), but I assume there are or will be laser guns in it, so expect F2WR critter protos for this in v2.0!

I didn't find any weapon more than a shotgun or SMG. No energy weapons.

You should be paying attention to this, Magnus. This is a very well done mod. I can't say it is small because there are really 12 new maps and lots of exploring and talking to do. Five quests I was able to find, and only one seems a bit bugged in the english version, but english version only.

I really hope Shattered Destiny continues. I really want to play more, and see what Dr. Franklin was up to.

Yep, the fact that you can complete the story (whatever the size) makes it really fun.

btw, the first time I played, after a little while in the shelter, I... exploded... And i have no idea why... I never hapened to me the others times... Any Idea what was the reason? :D


Ho, and you should hire the guy from the playthrought to make some voice acting, Dr franklin, maybe!:lol:

Come on, it ain't that hard :P
Just click (right/left) on the critter, click on edit, and you will see a list of script, just assign the same rat/scorpion script as in the random encounter, and zou! Now you can make standard dungeon/bunker maps. Just check it with the game thought, sometime the critter in the mapper won't attack you...
 
Forgot to mention he needs to select the critter menu in the mapper (from which you add critters to the map). Then you click "m" to change your cursor to a spearhead (easier to select things) and "m" again to return to the classic one after you're done.
 
Very nice mod Lexx I just played through it and was looking to see what progress it is going through and such. I read your post about needing someone to help "proof read the dialog" and if your still looking for someone like this I would be more than willing to help. I am very fluent in English for it is my native tongue and I have a lot of free time. As well I am a novice programmer in C/C++ but am working with it to a great extent. I would be honored to work on a project such as this in any way that I can! Please do contact me here with a message or a post on this thread! Very nice work sir!

Great work ! I'm playing it currently but I have important request concerning SD 2. In SD 1 dead bodies and/or equipment dissapears if you get off from location and take a long nap or ccome back in few days. I know that it's propably a feature but sometimes can fuck up gameplay f.e : two ghoul bodies in caves near Grand Guignol which one contained essential yellow card dissapeared after i completed this location and abandoned it. I just didn't check area near those bodies at first running for antidote and later on i couldn't visit lower levels because i didn't have access card. Uff... I hope that explanation is understandable.


Second thing : I can try to do Polish translation. Just give me details on how exactly and /or text files i would need to translate. It would be good to translate German 1.3 to English 1.3 for providing polish funs with 1.3 v but it's not absolutely necessary.
 
Hm. The disappearing bodies is a "problem" from the original game. But it shouldn't affect the items on the bodies. In normal, the items should be on ground, if the bodie is gone.

The difference between German 1.3 and English 1.1 are some minor dialogue changes. But I don't really know what has been changed since then, so it's hard to adjust it... better would be to make a 100% new translation...

Anyway...

Based on this, I made new setup files for both, english and german version of the mod. Now it's only needed to extract the mod folder into the Fallout 2 folder and then it should be possible to start the game very easy with the new desktop icon.

Also I added some updated english text files. Problem is, I don't know anymore who made them long time ago. I can't check my old e-Mails anymore and I didn't saved the name of the person... :/

I updated the english version with the new text files. Not everything is fixed, but at least a lot bad stuff. The new download links can be found in my signature or soon in the NMA files section (I am uploading right now).
 
i just tried out this mod 1.1 english version.
i installed on a new sub folder called sd,
and copy the fallout.cfg file into that subfolder.

started playing. i can't save. error, cannot save.
i got the quest from bene.. and he ask me to go church to find her daughter, hanna..

went to the church, got the quest from the preacher to deliver flowers to farmers..
but when ask him about hanna.. he explained fully and ask me to fuck off...

when i went back to bene.. i got error dialog..
so i am stuck here... PLEASE HELP..

I don't know why this is. Never saw this bug in my mod. But I wonder why you have created sub folders. I updated the installer of SD1 a long time ago. You should just need to install it into your Fallout 2 directory and it should create new a new folder with correct cfg file, etc.

Then you are a member of the CoC now and Bene doesn't like you anymore anyway. This part of the mod is a little bit confusing and also bug ridden. But you can still continue playing. In the bar on top of the main location, is some dude who feels sick. You have to give him some rad away and he shows you the way to ... where you can continue.
