Fallout 3: Are you getting it?

Well, I bought Fallout 3 today.

I generally don't preorder games. Mostly because I really don't like going to videogame-only stores. But I was at Best Buy today, during my lunch break, where I picked up Fable 2, and the Fallout 3 preorder was sitting on the shelf right next to it, so I figured what the hell.

The cancelation of Van Buren doesn't seem like very long ago. And, for some reason the relatively short period of time (looking back on it) between that, and Fallout getting bought by Bethesda seemed like a very long time. Likewise, after Betheda purchased the license, Fallout 3 still felt like something that was going to be a ways off in the future.

Funny how fast its snuck up on me, that its actually almost here. Despite the mixed sentiment around these parts, I am very excited to play another Fallout game next week.

i genuinely hope the feeling lasts for you, buddy.

and i wish i still felt the same way.

In all honesty, yes. I will be buying this game...

Once I get a Xbox360 that is.

Do I think It'll be good? Maybe. There will definitely be some differences from the first 2 of course (3 if you're counting Tactics). Overall though, it appears Bethesda has done a rather good job with this game.

Guess I'm just going to have to try it out.

Not in the slightest. First, it's 3D and it's somehow not cool with me, second, it won't run on my laptop (which ain't much of a surprise but still). Third, I've become even more of a fanboy and have a definitely negative attitude towards FO3.

What about their return policy?

As long as it's unopened, you should be ok.

Brilliant idea!

(I'm not sure I'll be able to keep myself from playin' it, tho.)

I'll wait out the CS, or functional 3rd party tools.

~Hopefully Nifscope will make sense of it [or can be made to ]

Buying

Will definitely get it, I've been anticipating it for a while, don't hate me cause I haven't heard of fallout until I read about it in a magazine in Summer '08 >.< I played Fallout 1 on gametap, I thought it was pretty good for a game made 10 years ago. but whenever I want to play fallout 1 this stupid gametap is not responding. -,- But I think I'd like any game in a Post-nuclear role playing environment. In a special kind of way, I realize Fallout 1 was a strategy game.

*edit: Unless... hating new people is part of your job? Then I'd gladly Let you hate me over the airwaves!

Yeah, I'll probably buy it. Not on launch day, probably that weekend or the next. Not 100% decided, but all signs point to "yes" (shakes magic 8-ball again)

As it stands now no.

If the official NMA review and discussion comes up with some positive points, or some substantial mods come out maybe I will reconsider.

I'm getting it, it may not be the FO:3 we all want, but I still think it'll at least be fun, I've got my copy pre-ordered on 360.

I'm getting it, but I'm not going to treat it like a Fallout game. More with a Deus Ex approach, because right now, that's what it looks like. A first person shooter with RPG elements.

I'm getting it when it comes out. Hopefully Bethesda learned from their mistakes in Oblivion, and it'll be a great game. Otherwise it'll probably be decent and won't be good until it gets mods.

I'm planning to wait until some other people (hence forth known as guinea pigs) try it out and give me an idea of how it is. I'll probably still end up getting it of course; it's just a matter of whether I get it soon or after it gets cheap.
