Russian firm 1c has stated in a press release that it has been handed the localization of Fallout 3 for the area of Russia, the CIS countries and the Baltic countries. The localization will be released simultaneously with the American version.

Polish firm Cenega is handling the localization for Poland (thanks trustno1). Here is the press snippet both use (translation curtesy of 13pm):
Fallout 3 is a post-nuclear role-playing game in best traditions of the series providing a huge world to explore, unique combat system, stunning visuals, great possibilities for role-playing, living and developing NPCs. Your main goal like in previous games is to stay alive in the wasteland (for that you'll need various items such as water, meds and currency - bottle caps), at the same time dealing with classic Fallout dangers: radiation, supermutants, and hostile mutated creatures.
For some reason, the Russian press release adds "Enclave" to classic Fallout dangers you'll see. Probably an error.

Nice! At least the fans in that area won't have to wait forever for a localized language version. :)

Pretty juicy deal for 1c.

I wonder how our eastern neighbours are reacting to Fallout 3 so far anyway? The franchise is insanely popular, and it's a large market for any post-apocalyptic franchise, let alone Fallout. I wonder if they're happy with what we've seen so far

Any chance to see some overview to their reaction here in NMA? :? I don't know ruski, otherwise I'd go to some russion fansite and see :?

Press release states that you'll deal with the Enclave in FO3 and there'll be bottle caps as a currency.
But I'm not sure whether it's true

If you didn't know, 1C did localization of Fallout 2 and F:T in (!) 2006. Know tey are prepare to publish localization of Fallout first. 1C had license for all Black Isle and BioWare games.

I know. But it's a Russian press release, so I just glossed over that as being probably a mistake maybe.

1C had license for all Black Isle and BioWare games.

That license would not affect this, this is a seperate license. Not sure what you mean with "know they." Is that like "hear ye"?

Reaction its not so good. Latest press-release of 1C localization - BioShock - had strange words. For example : Rapture - AquaTown (on Russian ;) ). But 1C localization of Fallout 2 and Tactics, was good (voice of actors was realy good), but without some mature words :)

Well, I was referring to their reaction to Fallout 3, not its localization. But thanks anyway :)

it's 50/50. it might be true probably.
I'll put a quick translation here for everyone.

'Fallout 3 is a post-nuclear role-playing game in best traditions of the series providing a huge world to explore, unique combat system, stunning visuals, great possibilities for role-playing, living and developing NPCs. BTW Cenega has the same description as 13pm posted... apparently Beth provides these for the publishers...

Its my bad keybord:) Or fingers. I mean "Now they".

:) Russia isn't jungle :) Reaction is standart - most of fans don't like previews information about dialogues, first-person view etc. Some people thinks that Fallout 3 - progress and its become game like a System Shock 2 and Deus Ex. You know.
Other questions?
I'll glad to answer.

The question remains; what is the overal Russian fan reaction to this game?

mixed feelings. I haven't decided yet. from what I've seen so far, there're many things that are disappointing, but I still can give it a chance. I now look at it not as a sequel but a new game in the same (?) setting.
I will be really missing the feelings that first games brought as far as FO3 will bring different. But who knows?
I can live with VATS, but it sure won't be as enjoyable as TB. I'll just wait and see and most probably will play to decide.

Ok, then I'll edit it in.

Wait!

Where does it say "the Enclave" here?
Zmierzy się też z klasycznymi niebezpieczeństwami, znanymi z serii – napromieniowaniem, supermutantami i wrogimi stworzeniami

Any chance to see some overview to their reaction here in NMA?

Of all international reactions? That's kinda tough, but we'll see what we can pick up off the wire.

13pm, you sure they say about the Enclave? Cenegas version is almost identical, but no mention of the Enclave.

It doesn't, that's the only difference. Sorry about the confusion.

Yes. I read this information too. Its Enclave.

yeah, sure.

...радиацией, супермутантами, Анклавом и враждебными мутировавшими существами.

Анклав=Enclave

Yes
радиацией, супермутантами, Анклавом и враждебными мутировавшими существами.

While "Anklav" is up to the usual Russian standards of "hilarious transcription," it is "Enclave" phonetically.

Figures, inaccuracies in a Russian press release. I can probably count the number of times I've seen an accurate Russian press release on one hand. Drunken sods.
