First time out of the vault

Brother None,
Not as good doesn't mean bad. There's still great games out there, including on the PC, it's just not a torrent, more of a trickle, and many of us never had the time for the torrent anyway
True. And 2008 was not a bad year, for the post 2000 PC game industry. I was fairly well satisfied with the Medieval Total War: Kingdoms expansion, The Witcher, Mass Effect, and Fallout 3. But I wouldn't call any of those "great" games. using my own personal standards based on how much I enjoyed them, the best I can is they didn't suck. But then, I'm pretty picky. I expect quite a lot more from games than the average Fallout 3 or GTA 4 fan.
Besides...indies.
I'm not from Missouri, but they still gotta show me. Low budget versions of mainstream titles don't appeal to me, and neither do games that had potential that was never fully realized. I agree it makes sense for indies to be the ones servicing the traditionally hardcore niche PC gamer market, but it doesn't seem to be happening.
