Fallout 3 patched on the PS3

Bethesda should definitely check their priorities. not that I've had any major bugs on the PC but it seems like others have. and bug-fixing goes before everything else, always.

Bethesda should fix existing bugs on Fallout 3 before wanting to create new DLC for the game. Get it together Bethesda. They want to create DLC and charge people for it so tehy can make more money, but by doing that they are leaving Fallout 3 as broken as already is.

It wouldn't surprise me if any bug fixes from Bethesda were part of the DLC, so that you essentially have to pay for patches. IT's scummy, but I wouldn't put it past them.

With patches, you can not make money (directly).

With DLC you can.

No one has ever done that in game history AFAIK, I doubt Bethesda wants to risk the onslaught of doing that. It barely has any advantages anyway, their DLC already selling like hotcakes.

And while the hardware/software collapses of Fallout 3 might be more sporadic and hard to fix, Bethesda should have made it priority #1 to fix the Xbox 360/PS3 crashes and the broken quest paths (which, not being dependent on any configuration, should be doable).

.
And it would be even ilegal in a few nations, at least Germany. In Germany one could get the idea to sue Bethesda (or their publisher responsible for Germany) and get right for the case they would demand money for patches.

Cant say anything about the US, but we have laws to make sure the developer is obligated to make "free" patches/fixes for the software. Well if not he either could be sued (which is not easy) or costumers can return the software.

Umm, duh, games that are perfect don't need patches!

Fallout 3 received a few 10/10 scores, therefore the game is flawless!

IGN: Do you expect title updates to fix a few outstanding bugs to come along with Operation Anchorage?

Gardiner: We are releasing an update for all versions of Fallout 3 prior to the release of this DLC. We take pride in fixing issues that are found by our fans and posted in our forums.
Heh. Seems they are working on a patch and releasing it before the DLC.

Gardiner:...We take pride in fixing issues that are found by our fans and posted in our forums.

This line made me laugh though.

More like: "We take credit for our fans fixing the issues they find for us", is what the line should be

So we have Morrowind, Oblivion, Shivering Isles and the official Bethesda's DLC for Oblivion patched by the Baldurdash team. Why I have the feeling that the fan community will end up doing the same for this mess of the game named "Fallout(???!) 3". Anyone else has the same feeling?:D

If you look at Beth's history, don't expect much in the way of patching.

Hell, for Oblivion it took a fan made patch to fix over 1300 bugs, while Beth was selling Horse Armour and the Thieves' Den.

As for me, a PS3 owner, I usually get shit on in terms of quality (I'm looking at you Valve), so I'm glad that they added something for me.

When I hear how much work it took for fans to fix up Oblivion, it makes me feel like Beth's games are more bugged than TOEE or (OMFG)VtM:B.

What I sometimes wonder is, is it worth fixing up Fallout 3?

I myself really don't like the storyline or the quests which to me make up a really important part of an RPG.
If the storyline is compelling enough its worth fixing flawed battle engines, NPCs, or character building.

The dialog could be made better, NPCs can be made to look better, the battle engine can be tweaked, but if the storyline remains crap its all a waste of effort.

Edit: may have placed this in the wrong topic.
