Fallout 3 voted "38th best game ending of all time&quot

Van Buren had a really bad ending. It ended in never being done.

The Black Ops ending wasn't half bad, actually, but first is obviously a joke.

But to the lowest common denominator it was probably the first plot twist their feeble minds have ever witnessed, thus voting it number one. It's like the people that think the Sixth Sense was good strictly for it's twist.

I find it amusing that from 50 games on the list, I have finished only 6, and of those 6, only 3 have an ending that isn't just a nicely wrapped up game over.

100/10/50 best game/graphics/story/cutscene/virtual boobs lists are usually shit and not worth gushing over. More news at eleven. ;)

As for Fallout 3's story, for some reason a lot of people find it fitting, that the hero must always die or even sacrifice himself in the end. While I find that utterly boring, I really wonder why this is so.

10$ that the soon-to-arrive Mass Effect 3 will have a "I want to be a Reaper" ending where Shepard sacrificies himself for the greater good.

Hey people, let's make a 'The Bestest Endings Thread' out of this thread! This way we can purge that list out of our minds.

So, my favorite endings(conclusions to be more precise):

-Fallout 2
-Fallout: New Vegas
-Metal Gear Solid series(all of them, especially Snake Eater)
-Nocturne(probably the most absurd ending I have ever seen)
-Portal 2
-Vampire TM: Bloodlines
-Half Life
-Assassin's Creed 2
-Conker's Bad Fur Day
-Saints Row: The Third

I bet none of them would sacrifice themselves in a 1:10 situation.

I've seen things... you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain.

Time to die.

I would say Baldurs Gate 2 with ToB. But thats becaues It was one of the first big games I ever played (I am not THAT old anyway).

We here at Vault City LOOOOVE making lists.

The problem is that everyone has their own favorite games.

Many of Fallout 3 and other games will defend their favored game by pointing out that random gaming sites or magazines gave that game "Game of the Year."

But then, we look around and see how fickle individual writers quickly become on their own, when separated from the herd.

IGN gave Fallout 3 Game of the Year, and then followed that up with the suggestion that Fallout 4 not be in a Nuclear wasteland.

PC Gamer recently listed Fallout 3 as #4 of the All time best PC Games in the March, 2012 issue, because it's one editors' favorite game. Compare this with last year when Fallout 3 didn't even make the Top 25, and they even have a short conversation about it.

Many games do deserve to be there (Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, et cetra) but some I expected to be there are missing. Some of them shouldn't be there at all. Black Ops shouldn't be in the top 50 let alone #1. Call of Duty 4 had a good ending, I wonder how many fans missed the anti war message that game had.

Small panel of gamers mostly familiar with recent stuff. Whatever. Does anyone really take the Guinness Gamer's Edition remotely seriously? It's fucking retarded. Remember this shit?
This means Lara Croft is now officially recognised as the "Most Successful Video Game Heroine," "Most Recognisable Female Character in a Video Game" and "Most Detailed Video Game Character" while Tomb Raider set new records as "Highest Grossing Computer Game Spin Off", "Most Successful Live-Action Transfer" and "Most Official Real Life Stand-Ins in a Video Game".
Yeah, that last record is a fucking keeper.

Guinness, please abandon this side-project, it fucking sucks assballs.

chrom, its IGN.

hell, they even complained about the SPECIAL system and said it should be scrapped.

nor did they even acknowledge that skyrim was done on an engine designed in 2005 while FO3 was done on an engine designed in 2001.

of course there is going to be huge differences.
