Though I wonder if Harold can make his way there by himself. You know, he's kinda old.. :?
maybe his tree grew legs & it carried him there.

or the tree grew foilage and a freak tornado carried him there.

I think that this article not only shows some hope Bethsoft pulling off the game.

They still are the minions of Lucifer, Jesus. Too soon to give the other cheek...

It also shows hope that the mainstream gamming community isn’t a complete loss.

Having some VERY sound advice being given to Bethsoft from such a high profile, mainstream, gaming magazine can be nothing but beneficial.

Yep, that i agree.

I want one of those Fallout 3 mugs. Where the fuck did this Deadcock find one of those anyway? He got it from someone at Bethesda, yes?

East Coast could be a good choice, for reasons already mentioned.
Personally, though, I see it as a bad omen. To me it looks more like "fuck-the-canon-we'll-just-do-our-own-shit". Which is bad.

wow, Fallout 3 News, good stuff.

but i want a Multiplayer or Coop Mode, too. :P
exspecially when the hitboxes will be for every piece of the body.

Well, it sounds not so bad as for me. New places, new stuff - more place for the imagination. Hope they will use this imagination for good.

As long as they keep:

1. Developer presents (like in FO1: Tim Cain presentes, or in FO2: Brian Fargo presents);

2. Fallout... 3.

3. An intro with good 50's or 60's blues/jazz/whatever those music styles are;

4. War... War never changes... (opening a black&white movie containing historical background);

5. S.P.E.C.I.A.L., Traits, Perks, Tag Skills, Name, Age, Sex, Inventory, Sheet, Turn Based, isometric view, etc etc.

It will be okay, IMO. And it seems atractive to finally see NY destroyed, except for the Liberty Statue, that must be standing IN BAD SHAPE, of course. Pentagon and Cape Canaveral are nice places also.

Bethesda doesn't really have to pay attention to Desslock. Though the way he defended Oblivion not being dumbed down because therz liek, so much moor STUFF 2 do! probably put him on their MySpace friends list.

It's also highly presumtious to assume that the game has promise based on second hand information on art that apparently nobody other than Desslock have seen outside of Bethesda. No mention of 50's pop art, after all.

To say this shows a lot of promise would be presumptuous.

To say it's bad news that they decide to go with the East Coast or "that it makes you suspicious" after a majority voted for the East Coast both here and at DaC and many have expressed their preference towards the 'Coast is just a bit assbackwards, though

Couldn't I just think they're wrong? :P

Really, though, I remember VD saying something about the game being set in an undisclosed city from an "undisclosed source." If the landmarks are what I assume they are that people would identify with the Eastern Seaboard, then the Escape From New York scenario sounds frighteningly possible.

Well, logically, it has the potential to be very good in showing what happened to the rest of the country.

It also has the potential to be to Fallout games as Casino Royale was to Bond flicks.

Given what Bethesda's spokesmorons have said since the polls, it raises a lot of doubt.

I'm not denying that, but nor would I say that a decision to move the story to the West Coast would signal an unexpected course of Bethesda's.

Holy crap!

Bethesda reads our forums!

The east coast won on our poll, and Fallout 3 is being set on the East Coast.

Coincidence? Not likely.

:shock:

I thought Fallout 3 was, according to the released design docs, set more central than east coast. There was mention of the Salt Lake City area. Or did all that get scrapped? I also read something about NCR expanding east into Utah.

Also, what is this "canon" everyone is refering to?

That was Van Buren and all of it was scrapped when BIS went down.

it says in this article.. that it wont be 2D isometric... well for me - that IS fallout... ive never seen Oblivion, so went on 'youtube' to look at alot of trailers and fan made movies for it.. oh dear! this ISNT the fallout style i have come to enjoy since first playing the DEMO on the free CD way back when... i fully understand that this isnt the 80's anymore, but 3rd or 1st person aint gonna cut it.. what did the mug on the tanker say?.. "if it aint broken, don't fix it"...what are they going to do to our beloved game ! ? :? .. and why change it.. theres plenty of games out and just around the corner to come out, that are still isometric !
