If we have luck it might be one of the next DLCs. Fallout liberation Mario world or something.thefalloutfan said:Wow, I'd play that if I got the chance. Super Mario and Half Life, <3.
TyloniusFunk said:I think you guys are onto something. There's really no limit to the old franchises Bethesda can buy and turn into Action Adventure FPSs. I'm personally hoping for old Lucas Games titles Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle. Speaking of which, you know what would make Fallout 3 better? If you could play Fallout 1 and 2 on a random vault computer.
lol, why do some equate popularity or SALES with quality? The lastest blockbuster movie rakes in a ton of cash...does that mean it's a fantastic deep intricate movie that doesn't insult the viewers intelligence? Possibly but not assured. I love this infatuation with popularity some focus on. Like it's a steadfast indicator of excellence. Britney Spears sells shitloads of records. Does that mean she's a better musician than Chopin? Laughable. LAUGHABLE! Also why in the WORLD would you expect a "truer" fallout game after enormous monetary success of one deemed 'untrue' by many? lol it doesn't make sense man. They aren't going to change the formula for 'ca$holine' when they've found the one that rakes in the most cash!! *sigh* Sorry man..TyloniusFunk said:Something many of you are aware of and worth discussing is the measureable commercial success of Fallout 3. For details see here.
In spite of the fact Fallout 3 doesn't live up to our expectations as a Fallout sequel, it seems many more people out there like it for what it is. I discuss it here.
What do you think the future of Fallout is given the superior financial success of Fallout 3 over Fallout 1/2?
Do you still hold out hope for a truer Fallout game?
[Edit] FYI: Bethesda has announced plans for a sequel.
looks like I should have read the thread through before I posted, heh. But to be fair to Celine Dion many may not like her style but she does sing. But it boils down to popularity not being a failsafe way to evaluate things objectively. Alot of things are popular but that doesn't necessarily mean they are good for you or promote some higher standards etc etc. Really I wish people would get off it. It's meaningless to me.rcorporon said:Since when does sales figures translate into quality?
Celine Dion has millions of albums sold, but her music is still shit. Same goes for Ms. Spears.
I lump FO3 with mainstream, mass produced garbage... plain and simple.
Has anyone bought the Fallout film rights, yet?Crni Vuk said:I would proably not go so far to call Bethesda the Uwe Boll ... but its really very borderline.
Crni Vuk said:as someone already mentioned. Bethesda is the Michael Bay/Paul W. Anderson of the gaming buisness ...

No offense but Steven Spielberg isn't that much to write about either anymore these days.
Well Steven has at least a respectable past of very good movies/stories he released over the time ... which can not be said about either Michael Bay, Paul W Anderson or ... Uwe Boll. Michael Bay is in my eyes a very good example of a "Bethesdian". Selling mediocre experiences as awesome projects ...The Dutch Ghost said:DexterMorgan said:Regardless, Steven Spielberg of gaming they're definitely not.

That though doesnt speak for Fallout 3 but the market in general.Corvin said:It isn't that far off. A bunch of US retailers have already ordered more.
You've also hit upon something that most Fallout 3 haters haven't... compared to the current market... Fallout 3 is far better than you all make it out to be.
