Fallout 4 announced with official trailer

I love how you whiny bitches are going to buy the game regardless of what you say now. :V

The vault dweller was the baby in the crib I wager, and at some point was cryogenically frozen, probably a vault experiment or something, then released.

Civil-rights: Blade Runner had these components, I think it's going to be a big influence. There's definitely prior groundwork for this regarding human/ghoul relations - why not toss in androids to the mix? There are massive civil-rights debates going on regarding *take your pick* - I could see this playing out in the game in some capacity.
Hmm, yeah. I can dig it. I do enjoy a bit of social tension. While not a fan of androids, especially when they look TOO human to the point of may as well been human, but that's part of the Institute, so may as well throw that in there.

Where is my Dogmeat, goddammit?

Died about a hundred years ago.

That looked pretty terrible... I mean compared to The Witcher 3 that just came out, it really looks like a modded Fallout 3.

Setting change and a bit more post-post apocalyptica could be interesting though.

Very disappointed if it turns out that they are going with the fully voiced PC.

I haven't played witcher 3 yet, so when i will have the hardware, i'm playing that first. If this turns out a turd, i will just do what i'm doing now - not playing games.

It just got to me after watching the trailer for a third time. It's the freaking dog that not only looks like shit, but also drags the whole trailer down (graphically speaking). The art direction, the environments, everything is very detailed and looks way better than Skyrim. It is at least on a 2014 graphics level.
But the dog. Low res, no fur, bad lighting. The dog looks BAD awful!

I'm pretty exited for this, the art style reminds me a lot of fallout 1 and 2's cinematic intros and the locations are pretty great looking. I'm completely in favor of the main character being voiced as long as there is an option to turn it off on repeat playthroughs.

The dog does look bad, as does the animation... they've never been great in the animation department.

All you people getting super hyped are gonna calm down soon, and you're gonna regret your massive overreaction and overhype.

Remember, criticizing stuff and demanding better products (Especially Next-Gen.) is a good thing, rabidly defending Bethesda (On fucking NMA of all places) at all costs, is not.

Better than Fallout 3 tbh.

I think it looks exactly as in F3

btw. I like the new vault door at 1:30, but I just noticed - after it opens, we can see the interior of the vault, not the outside tunnel. Maybe the main character is not from a vault?

Man, the overwhelming negativity here is off putting.

Ignore it, they're just trying to look cool by being negative and anti establishment.

Secretly they can't wait to play.

I can't wait to play it, just like with FO3 but after I did I was extremely disappointed. So my expectations for this game are super low, since Beth didn't make good game (not-causual poorly written shit) more than 10 years.

People complaining about the resolution of the dog, I have a question. If Fallout 4 was be created by the revived Black Isle/Interplay crew, and was made in the Minecraft engine, but with the intense and interactive narrative of the original fallouts, we will still having this debate?

I thought the trailer was pretty uninteresting. Will have to see what Bethesda comes up with but I won't get my hopes up.

I doubt they'll make us play as an established character.

But if that's the case, then yeah, I'm out.

Most vaults have a cave to hide their enterance or such.

In this case, Vault 111 does not need a cave. The elevator is its "cave".

Enclave? I didn't see any Enclave, that Vertibird could just be a vehicle one of the factions has in store. At least I hope it is, no more fucking Enclave.
I think it was shown only in the pre war POV part of the trailer, and I agree it is safe to assume that Vertibird were common before the war (at least in the military), and while the Enclave was well stocked, it doesn't mean it is the only faction that acquired air assets.

The Player in Fallout 2 stole the plans for the Vertibird after all. So it could have ended up in the hands of the Shii, the Republic and the BoS. Granted, this was on the other side of America. But oh well. If that is the worst we see in Fallout 4, it would be glorious. I am pretty sure there will be more things to nitpick. Like the quest design. Or the role playing. And the silly looking art-style which is moving further and further away from Fallout. As someone said, I do get the feeling that this is a next Bioschock game.

I love how everyone's already like "this isn't anything like Fallout!" and "this sucks!" and you haven't even seen any gameplay or anything outside the trailer. But let's be honest though, you probably wouldn't have considered any of that information anyway. Haters gonna hate. I think it looks awesome. The world seems much more varied and alive than 3.
Haha, not sure what you were expecting, Korin. It's "Fallout 3 again!" For fans of Fallout 3, that's awesome, but you're on No Mutants Allowed.

All you've got is a trailer though. Everything else is just speculation. You don't have anything to base it on being "Fallout 3 again", other than it's... first-person? You start in a vault and get a dog? Maybe wait to see what the actual gameplay and quests/dialogue are like and then we'll really know whether they took a lesson from Obsidian. I think people forget how cartoon-y F1/F2 were sometimes. Rose-coloured glasses and all that.

Dude. What happens when a company like Bethesda makes a 360° turn? They end up in the same spot. But everyone can say, look! We changed everything.

From Oblivion, to Fallout 3 and Skyrim they followed always the same formula. The game looks pretty, I am sure, but that's a given. BN isn't talking out of his ass here though. I don't hate Todd Howard, far from it. He is very succesfull in his job, he sells the game, he knows his audience very well. And even if I would not know anything about this trailer I am pretty confident that what Bethesda will do with Fallout 4 is to please Fallout 3 fans or at least the typical Bethesda fan. I doubt that it will be even anything close to New Vegas.

Skyrim with guns, would be my best guess.

Hey! Maybe they will surprise us this time. Who knows. Oh and love yah Korin *hugs*

About this cryo-freezing plot, I actually don't think it's a bad thing. It would actually kinda fit the Fallout tone.

As long it's done better than in Rage. Heh, that was bad, it was almost comical. Oh! Hey I woke up ... Wasteland here I come!
