Bethesda has just released the Far Harbor trailer:

In Far Harbor, a new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost?

Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that Bethesda Game Studios has ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

Far Harbor's release date is May 19.

"Please, bring my daughter home." as the boat approach the harbor.

Point Lookout much?

Jokes aside, these better be not only the largest landmass Bethesda ever made in a DLC as they promised, and actually packed with quality content and prove that, 'The choices are all yours.'

And pls tone down the Lovecraftian, those fish-like swamp creatures are too obvious a Deep One.

Holy sheet, that looks like just like Point Lookout but worse.

A big frog, that hides underwater.

Geckos they ripped out of new Vegas.

Giant Mutated Mantises?

Nick Valentine as a synth leader?

The lore is screaming as it is being gutted just by the trailer alone.

When I watched this trailer I saw a conflict between local people, synths and children of atom, which whill probably be just like the factions in Fallout 4.

Also no wonder this is their "biggest" DLC. I can bet that 65% of the map will be pure water, without anything exciting.

On the plus side, there are actually other water enemies, outside of mirelurks.

PS: That part with "BRING MY DAUGHTER HOME" made me cringe like crazy. It is the same like the one in Fallout 3 and that tells a lot about quality.

We knew it was going to start off with finding some woman, but apparently Beth has the chutzpah to use the exact same story hook as Point Lookout - helping a mother find the daughter.

You did it with the main story, and just like you love to do, with the DLC. Get over it, Emil.

Since I haven't played Fallout 4 yet I feel I can't comment on that but it certainly looks like it's more of the same "let's solve all our problems with a bunch of shooty-bang" nonsense that the new fans of Fallout seem to enjoy so much.

The only good DLC produced by Bethesda for Fallout 3 (and possibly 4).

What's a thing between Emil and family-related stories? He lived without one of the parent or was an orphan? De fuk

I think i'll create a thread about this - Is it me or the Spanish voice acting is really, really good?

I thought the Pitt was actually another good DLC? If I'm not mistaken, the Pitt were the #1 content of Fallout 3 to be accepted in this site, with Point Lookout being close second. I personally wanted the entirety of Fallout 3 to play, feel, and look like the Pitt.

Anyway, it seems even in YouTube people are getting Point Lookout vibe. They commented about it as if it's not a bad thing. How could they be so blind to Bethesda's hollowed creativity?

I get a cold and delay a Video and all of a sudden two trailers (COD and Far Harbor) comes out that I have a lot to talk about.

But yeah, Bethesda is sadly no longer creative.

The animation of the Gecko looking thing at 0:50 is awful.

Something to take note of with this DLC is that Bethesda, a triple-a developer with a humongeous budget that has had like half a year to develop this DLC is reusing assets like mad. Take a good look at the amount of stuff they're just flat out reusing. Reusing some assets is fine but you should rework them so that they look slightly different with maybe a different colour or different texture or some alteration to an existing model but just flat out reusing old clothes from vanilla? Reusing the old dead dolphin looking thing? Even fucking shamelessly reusing the copy pasted boat as the main vehicle to get you there?

Shit man, Point Lookout had more unique art assets than this fucking thing and how much development time did that one have?

[edit]

Another funny thing about the trailer is how often Bethesda tries to show off their usual amazing scenery in the trailer. Problem with that is that their scenery looks dated. Like, one of their big selling points (their world) is now outdated. It just looks bad at times.

[edit]

Ahem, so, guys...
Remember how some people have gone like "oh don't give up hope, Far Harbour might be the saving grace of Fallout 4!"? Well, I personally don't feel it. Seems to me like Bethesda just churned out some big lump and call it an expansion. Seriously, look through the art assets of this trailer and think about the amount of shit that they just flat out reused with any alteration at all. What the hell did the people who do models and textures over at Bethesda do for these past 5 months if this is the end result?

At 0:30, was that a chaurus? Are they re-using assets from skyrim?
I think those are Bethesda's Mantises. Or big ass lobsters.
That means muh variations (slight reskin and prefixes) of enemies!

That's nice that they force Valentine on you, you know just in case you didn't try to RP within the small confines of this shit game, making your character a xenophobic member of the BOS who killed(disabled) Valentine after you were done using him for information. They can't go a week without making sure that every player knows that their choices mean fuck all.

Is that an angler fish with legs? It has the light on its forehead, huge disproportional jaws, and everything.. Goddamnit Bethesda angler fish only live in the DEEPEST PART OF THE OCEAN. THEY WOULD NOT BE MUTATED IN A FUCKING SWAMP.

Also the trailer makes Far Harbor look like more of the same. The only new things I saw were some enemies. No story elements revealed, no major players, Hell, the Synths which are supposed to be a major contender in Fart Harbor, were only in it for 2 seconds.

Not to mention, did I hear something about radioactive fog? So, what, the radiation storms from the base game with the opacity turned up to 100%? Is that really going to be the "big danger" here?

I'll bet you all 10 bucks right now they don't ever explain how the Children of Atom managed to spread to Maine when all their members back in Boston are hostile save for those 4 morons in a ground zero crater.

It looks like that blue ghoul whale was a myth after all. I mean come on, if that thing were actually in Far Harbor they'd be dropping huge hints for it because they think it's super cool or something. Unless Bethesda suddenly learned how to be subtle in its recent marketing, I'm just going to assume that whole whale thing was a hoax like someone said on here recently.

edit: alright, it's not so bad, they just ripped off the mama shrimp from metro last light.

the graphic is pretty good, maybe because i haven't play fallout 4 just only new vegas with enb mostly.

I saw a diving suit but I'm not sure that'll actually be used for deep sea diving. Which in any other game would've been a pretty cool expansion.

Why the Hell would we need a diving suit when that one Endurance perk from the base game literally turns us into Aquaman, able to breath underwater and make ourselves immune to underwater radiation? DUH! (please shoot me, the fact that that perk exists in Fallout makes me want to die)

Oh really? I didn't know that. I was thinking more that it could let you walk on the ground underwater ala the iron boots in Legend of Zelda. I don't think that's happening though. Would've been cool to fight a mutant shark or something.

If you open it up in a new tab, you can see the texture in detail. It's not too bad, but it's not really good either. Looks pretty shoddy for what is supposedly a AAA game.
