Fallout 4 gameplay videos leaked, Bethesda starts taking them down

The Preston Garvey quest appears to be pretty early in the game, and by the end of it you have power armor, an energy weapon, a mini gun, and a dog. I wonder if they are saving anything for later in the game.

Power armour is limited by fusion batteries and Bethesda have released screens of power armour being upgraded.

They are obviously saving the giant suit of Power Armor, the Power Zord, built by the Institute based on Chinese Technology that they stole from aliens!

I haven't watched all the videos too closely, but it feels like many of the pauses the NPCs make between their recorded lines are... unnatural. Either too long or too short. Especially the cheating NPC that states he can 'fix things' even though there is no perk for repair (7:56, Shanking people and taking names). Also that Valt Tec salesman where he has to reset to his neutral position after saying "No, you do" before he can continue with the generic line he has to say next (3:27, beginning intro).

I want to say uncanny valley, but honestly I think it's just badly done.

EDIT: also that water repair guy (1:30 @KinGswearpurple @sonofzuez more game play) who sort of nods awkwardly like he's trying to remember what to say and then snaps into his talking pose.

They really need a new engine, that part is disappointing thus far for sure.

How do Night Person and Solar Powered Perks work within this game anyway? Let's say your PER is 4 and you level up between 6pm and 6am, so your PER is effectively 6 at this point. Can you put a point in a level 6 PER perk or are you still locked to PER 1-4 for Perks? :P

Those perks that give temporary booststo Special stats just forgot what game they are in, they are basically just exp boosts and will become USELESS if you actually Max out either of the 2 stats they boost....

OMG! I can't believe it! You actually made it Bethesda! You surprised me again! I could never guess that you will actually make even worsen game than F3 ever was! That badass dog in fire! Lol
Ok, Obsidian please come and fix it AGAIN, but to be honest some things like animations and facial expresions will not be that easy to fix..

Skyrim's character animations actually look better to me. Less stops and starts, and less weirdly jointed appendages.

Gears of War had better looking faces and speaking/facial animations in the first installment a good 5 years (and a generation of consoles) ago.

True, but Gears of War was an extremely limited in scale, linear game. Not a huge open world game.

Facial animations and the character animations look solid. Not worse than Witcher 3 on the consoles tbh
Sure thing bud, those mouth holes stretching and contracting while the upper half of the face remains motionless sure do look nice, don't they?

Nothing new on reddit..
That's because Beth bribed them with free Lunchbox Codes for Fallout: Shelter

If you want a huge open world that almost looks limitless with facial animations that can show emotions without dialogue, there is a game that was released 5 months ago, have been in development for around 5 years just like Fallout 4. I think its fair to compare both games even though one is sci-fi other is fantasy.

That is a more fair comparison, yes. Not Gears of War.

Seems like you're in denial there bub. It's ok to admit that Witcher 3 obviously has better animation work.

Look at this game from 2007; even its animation is better than FO3/NV/FO4 combined.

Look - I'm one of those gamers that really don't care about graphics sometimes, as long as the gameplay/story is good. I still play games from a decade ago that graphicphiles today would say look like "ass." Witcher 1, for instance, I find to be an amazing classic RPG from 2008, which obviously doesn't have super-AAA graphics. FO4 looks average at best, but certainly a little better than FO3 and obviously still has holdover issues with the ancient Gamebryo underlayer - honest perspective.

Now even if FO4 looks average, I would probably say the rest of it would be fine if it has a story full of meaningful choice/consequences with a sensical story/setting. If it doesn't have the gameplay/story I desire out of an RPG then it is a pass for me. Several concerns that have already been gone over, however, have led me to decide that buying this at release, for full price, would be a waste of my money.
