Fallout 4 getting increasingly negative reviews

Yahtzee sums it up well For the Dead Space series considering I found it more funny than anything: "So, for example, when you gasp with delight at the prospect of a new Dead Space game, some of the air you intake will not be absorbed by your alveoli and will be exhaled again when you sigh with irritation because a spindly sausage monster has jumped out of a vent for the seventeenth time that day."

That fucker went on full damage control and changed the title from "A near perfect game." To "A near perfect BETHESDA game." Ha, No. I'm pretty sure most people would attribute that to morrowind. But that is just me.
I haven't played enough of Morrowind to judge it properly.

I can see why, the combat is clunky and the dialogue boring to go through (though I had fun reading it).
When it comes to clunky and boring games, Oblivion is about as far back as I'm willing to go. There were some aspects of Oblivion I liked better than what has ended up in well everything after it. I miss being able to ask the bartender about some rumors then getting a quest out of it. Granted, Oblivion was the last game where they tried to make an RPG. Fallout 3 was an attempt to split the difference, Skyrim was a FPS with RPG elements stapled to it and Fallout 4 is just a glorified arcade game. I won't call it a sandbox shooter, that would insult Saints Row 2 which was rather entertaining. I wonder if Volition can get a crack at Fallout after Bethesda chokes on its hubris?

True, the rumour system was usually generic but it sometimes led to interesting tid bits and quests.

I'd take generic over some random person running up to me offering me help when I don't want the quest. At least I actually had to seek out most of the quests in Oblivion. Or overhear them from some people talking in the world. Some random farmer didn't just go "save my friend from x". Granted Oblivion was Bethesda's last attempt at an RPG. Now we're stuck with the rice cake equivalent of a video game. It looks like a game, but its bland when you bite into it.

I feel that part of the backlash and hatred comes from the fact that mere things like 'survivor2299' existed. This made Fo4 more to live up to.

I also think that some bad implements and INSTITUTIONS were also made. Settlement building could've been great, but the mere lack of possible settlements, and then some poor workshop placements and some others kind of made it bad.

Factions are OK, but just seem pretty weak. If FO4 was IRL [hopefully not] then I could see all those factions having power, but nope. Just some minor thing with one companion and a little quest line.

Endings? 3/4 Institute is Nuked, 1/4 Institute lives. WTF? BoS should've warned the Institute to stop what they're doing or they'll be overrun and annexed by BoS. Same for Railroad. The Minutemen could coexist I'm sure.

Brings me to another point. If you're General of the Minutemen, then why the hell are you the one running around and helping settlements, and not granted power? You should be issuing men to go to X settlement, Talk to Y and do Z. Not you. This poor choice even made a meme.

Voiced Protagonist could use more voice choices, and more than 4 dialogue options.

TL;DR Bethy had the perfect opportunity and failed miserably.

The publisher is okay with it since Toddler doesn't spend too much money on making games better. We should really pay attention to the fact that Fallout 4 is low-budget title. At least from what the game is and what contains.

My advice... nah.
I could go into all the issues with F4, but I'll be here all day and frankly, I don't have the time.

Get it for free if you are able - otherwise, save your money. It doesn't hold a candle to any of it's predecessors.

Fallout 4 is a disaster. If you haven't played Fallout: New Vegas then play that.

Fallout 4 maybe get it when it is on sale.

Okay cheers guys will save my money : ), But will probably obtain it threw other means... just to try it out so i can have the right to abuse Bethesda

I've seen people on the RPGCodex that wouldn't even bother getting the game through other means due to wasting precious hard drive space.

Atleast it has mods though.

Telling people to play NV first is definitely good advice. Playing Fallout 4 first spoils NV for its older tech making the Bethesda stare, wooden character animation, lower budget art teams stand out more and hamper immersion.

A friend of mine played F4 first and was put off by all the retro's 50 feel to it all.
In fact, he didn't really think it was that much of a good game.

I will force him to play F1,F2,NV even if it kills me.
