Fallout 4 getting increasingly negative reviews

Yup I found it on the Codex, I enjoy watching what they post over there on the forums. I'm guessing you go to the Codex as well?

As for the mod shit going on, I heard some of them quit the modding scene because of being harassed by console kiddies demanding they switch the tag over to Ps4 and xbone so they can download it. You know because making a mod compatible for a specific console is just that simple!

Word on the street is that the Beth forums have become a real cesspool with demands for ported mods and people getting banned for using things like PCGMR
Yeah I'm just starting to lurk the Codex now. Really good stuff and hilarious shit out there. Very different from NMA in many aspect.

It's really sad how many of the console gamers kind of not see how, with their mindset about console gaming, they also missed out a lot on how to actually mod a game. I mean, if those mods they want to get working on their consoles can work like a usual DLCs..... but then that require Bethesda to work their ass into implementing all those mods so

Dunno about people getting banned just because of using words like 'PCMR', if it's real then how shameful people working on moderating there site.

I get kind of fed up of the Console crowd, we don't get everything the PC does. What we do get is an optimised package which means we wouldn't have to really update our machine for another seven years or so.

Also, I do think Todd is actually talented, if I remember rightly, he played a huge part in Morrowind.
And there has to be a few talented people there considering Bethesda does open world pretty well (at least a lot better than how Ubisoft does their open Worlds).
I think the ACTUALL work he does for the games, is realtivelly small. He probably isn't spending most of his time drawing concept art, coding and coming up with plots, as a director of the whole thing. He and Emil probably have meetings with the people that work for them, and they decide from all the options which one to follow, while making changes on the fly. This is pretty much many game developers work these days, if they are large enough. I mean, don't get me wrong! I am not saying this would be an easy job or something. To cordinate all the different teams, is a hell lot of work. Making sure that everything is timed well, keeping the people motivated and making sure that everything goes as expected. But I am just saying, I can't imagine him as a very creative person, in the sense that he comes up with a lot of new things, but rather taking something like Fallout or Elder Scrolls which are the creative children of other people, and turning it to his liking. Or what he think the millions of gamers out there want.

Bethesda won't learn. So long as they have idiots like MrMattyPlays to call it near perfect and get a few million sales out of it. The last good game Bethesda made was Oblivion. Fallout 3 and Skyrim didn't even match that. And they're a AAA game studio. I've gotten more fun out of Dragon Age Origins that I have out of all of Bethesda's games from Fallout 3 to now. And I haven't even beaten DAO yet. I've gotten more fun out of Stellaris than I have out of FO4...and that game is a strategy game and cost me 30 less...

That fucker went on full damage control and changed the title from "A near perfect game." To "A near perfect BETHESDA game." Ha, No. I'm pretty sure most people would attribute that to morrowind. But that is just me.

So, the honeymoon is over, and they´re starting to realize that F4 isn´t perfect.

It was going to happen eventually.

Funny thing is, there were already negative reviews pointing out the lack of roleplaying when it came out.

I actually went through a few of his videos this morning.
I managed to pick up on the fact that whenever he states a Negative in F4, he will quickly defend the game. Like Todd will hurt him if he doesn't defend the almighty God.

Also, no title changing will ever cover the fact that he calls it near perfect in the video.

Glad to hear that but unfortunately this turd still has got fairly high number of positive reviews on steam = 80%. With fart harbour 86% positive.

Sure people are realizing this now but Bethesda still still needs another fuck up before people turn away from them.

Hopefully TES 6 slash, loot and return will do that.

yeah, they brought some good point on stellaris and firaxis nuXCOM, while also do whiny thing like calling witcher 3 as Actionized RPG with binary choice

But the recent score is lower, 74%. It's all about tendency of steam user score getting lower and lower. Not the fact that overall it's 5:1 positive. (5:1 already sounds questionable, you know)
Also, you don't need to be a Fallout fan or even and Elder Scrolls fan to dislike this game. The story, design choices or performance might raise question to anyone, especially a Borderlands fan/massive rofls to Mass Effect fan/and massive swearing to a RUST fan.

I suppose you are right. This game has been losing customers constatly and it seems to finally take its' toll. Once the casuals - Bethesda's target audience find this game boring It is only a matter of time before it all falls apart.

In the meantime let's see how it all plays out and enjoy the ride.

To be honest I did not enjoy that franchise. Mostly due to how not scary it was (as a result of over using jump scare tactics on players). Plus all the religious gunk jammed into its seems.

EA is like a retirement home for games where miss treatment and lawsuits are bound to happen.

I really loved the sound design of the first a second one it worked really well at building up tension. Outlast is a game that relies sole on jump scares. The third wasnt scary and it was a sub par action game so it failed in both its goals. But the first 2 were great IMO. And I just looked it up visceral games made them EA published them.

The best scary games are the ones that let your own imagination terrorize you. The implication of danger is far more dangerous than danger itself when it comes to scaring someone out of their wits.

Pneumbra, and Amnesia did a great job with this. But even if you give players some control over the situation, the game developer has to find some way to make that resistance to the danger almost pointless to really instill fear in their players.

I think you just described Japanese horror. That's what I hate about modern silent hill. The horror elements feel to 'americanized' if that makes sense.

Compare this:

To this:

That first one is a way more unsettling situation... Because you don't know what the hell was in there.

The earlier Silent Hill Franchise did a great job of creating a environment of unsettleing nature, a lot of the times it was done through slight alterations to normally mundane things such as street signs or item placement. But I think a topic like this should get its own thread instead of assuming space next to the tortured soul that is FO4.

Create it. I'll show up later. Sounds like a fun topic.
