Fallout 4 is really disappointing.

I know your pain.
I started the first Fallout the over night and it was like going from the Phantom Menace to Empire Strikes Back.

Phantom Menace was kinda cool. It introduced Darth Maul and the light saber duels were definetly much better.

Well this might actually be what you meant.

Qui-gon-jinn=Sole Survivor
Obi-wan=Dogmeat
Jar Jar=Todd Howard

At least Fallout 4 has cool power armour and combat is improved?

When the best things to come out of your game is armour and a combat system you didn't develop, you know you've failed.

The things I liked about 3 was mostly collecting Power Armour. So to be able to essentially make my own with different parts is something I enjoy.
They did a good job with Power Armour. Good job Beth, here's a cookie.

Meh. I only used the rusty power armor at Concord once, left it there, and went on my to find an actual RPG element which would eventually lead to my death.

The second time was when I got my XO1 and sent tons of settlers to the airport to destroy the Nazis and decapitate Elder Hitler.

That sounds... wonderful.
To be fair, I just wanted to get the story to F4 done as quickly as I could.
It was a "Lets get this over with" sort of thing.

Since I'm a huge fucking hippie I rushed the main quests to. I sided with the Railroad but realized I would have to destroy my once previously loved chapter of the Brotherhood, so when I was on the roof with father I blew his brains out with The Deliverer and went to the Minutemen, defended against the synth and Corser attacks in The Castle, which on a side note was pretty fun as it didn't make my settlements feel completely useless other than making me caps, then I destroyed the Institute and left robo-kid Shaun there to die. Hooray, I guess. I then jumped off the building and died.

That's my head canon. The Sole Survivor couldn't take the shit universe she was living in and jumped off the tower as she bombed the Institute.

Nice canon.
I found I had more fun after the game than before. And I mean it took me until the 30 hour mark to have fun for the next 10 hours. Even then, I'm bored now.
My headcanon is that the Sole Survivor is dead in Vault and he is in Hell.
It just looks like Fallout 4 but is just Silent Hills: shoot 'em up

And this is the disadvantage of console gamers.
Even Fallout 4 can't be more bearable.
Maybe that's why they are bring mods to console because they knew it would be shittier than 3 and New Vegas.

The only reason ill ever touch 4 again is because of mods but Fallout 4's base game mechanics will make it hard to get modded.

Quest mods will be in an all time low, companions will also be low, most mods except guns and settlement crap will be at an all time low.

Fallout is going down the drain. Fallout 4 reminded me about the dystopian movie Idiocracy by Mike Judge. But hey, it´s how it goes when they want to reach out to everyone for company growth. Does anyone know if the new Bethesda Anthology releases of the Interplay games got more cencored? Whatever happens I hope the Wasteland series will continue as a light path in the commercial darkness of Fallout.

I think that's what Bethesda intended.

Moved to Fallout 4 subforum.
Thread #6 that I had to move from General Fallout to the proper subforum. @dror, please read the descriptions.

I feel like Fallout 4 was certainly an improvement game-play wise, but the story and characters are surprisingly shallow compared to the other games.

That being said; Fallout NV's map design sucked. Bite me.

Why would Bethesda intend for that to happen?
I think they're just too short-sighted and overconfident that they didn't think about how it would fuck over the modding scene.
I think they intentionally did it so they could sell more DLC like automatron. With less quest and follower mods, people will be more likely to buy any overpriced garbage Bethesda pushes out.

Have they at least by now thrown out the creation kit/mod tools?
No, the GECK is coming out in April.
