Fallout 4 Launch Trailer

Took them long enough to release some fucking details about the story. Thing is, would releasing it sooner really have spoiled anything at all?

I dont think they needed it. They manage to advertise the game with only 1(or 2?) trailers they released 6 months ago. Mindless hype around the game is really unbelievable.

Because people enjoyed 3 despite the belief here that no one did?

This

People hete just don't seem to grasp that the majority of the people loved Fallout 3.

Not just found it acceptable, no; really fucking loved it.

Oh and the differences between the gameplay and the trailer is just... I mean... Isn't this just flat out lying? I get that they want to do a sale pitch and whatever but still. What the game looks like in this trailer is 'not' what the game looks like in the leaked footage we've seen. At all. Whatsoever. So isn't this just flat out lying to the (potential) customers?

Hype based on very positive past experiences.

I watched a lot of streams... it looks Exactly like in the trailer.

That's the biggest positive thing anout Bethesda's marketing. They don't lie aboutthw graphics.

Is joke. You not get it?

Because people enjoyed 3 despite the belief here that no one did?

Why the hostility all of a sudden? I didnt write that in a negative way, it is just shocking for me to see a video game with this much popularity.

If someone told me that there will be a video game that gets announced 6 months before release and doesnt requires any gameplay videos to sell it in huge numbers, I would make fun of them.

Also from what I saw in the last couple of days, there is no belief like that here, so your question doesnt makes sense.

You may say that (looks like) it has better story than New Vegas, but don't act like everything New Vegas does with its setting and worldbuilding doesn't raise the importance of story. Fallout 4's story seems to not have any merit to the rest of the game whatsoever. I appreciate how well worldbuilding and storytelling go together in New Vegas.
I agree with you about those things, but the overall main quest was not as interesting as FO4's.Regardless,I've enjoyed all four games for what they were. Can't wait to get my paws on this one to!

I completely disagree. While it looks like Fallout 4's main story is just some fight between pro-synth and anti-synth where the outcome doesn't really matter, New Vegas felt like a REAL quandary which was felt everywhere you go. I mean you say it's interesting so you obviously like the synth story better but don't you think the way FO4's story is presented is pretty stupid? The whole thing feels forced as hell.

I think that's where the "Mindless hype around the game" part came from.

There are a couple of IP's that can do that.

George RR Martin can release a new SoiaF book tomorrow and it will sell millions on day one.

Star Wars can release one trailer and it will be the biggest movie of the year.

Fallout can release one trailer and people will shit themselves and it will sell crazy.

But almost no other properties can be marketed like that.

Because people enjoyed 3 despite the belief here that no one did?

Because people disliked 3 despite the belief that only NMA did.

Of course there are people that disliked 3 who are not active on NMA, but the overwhelming majority (even if some liked NV more) really loves 3.

That majority is split between idiots who don't have any appreciation for what we believe a Fallout game should be and actually reasonable people who like Fallout 3 for its "Hiking Simulator"-esque environmental storytelling and shooting galleries with filler and loot or those who like the type of story in FO3.

I prefer to stick with people who are the latter.

Just like the Michael Bay transformers movies make shit loads of money. Appeals to popularity aren't really reflective of the quality of something, and they are usually just cop outs.

Michael Bay movies are the counter parts of Call of Dutynot Fallout.

Transformer movies get critically slaughtered btw, while Fallout is a critic favourite.

Good luck in your ivory tower :)
