Fallout 4 Launch Trailer

Because people enjoyed 3 despite the belief here that no one did?

Because people disliked 3 despite the belief that only NMA did.

Of course there are people that disliked 3 who are not active on NMA, but the overwhelming majority (even if some liked NV more) really loves 3.

That majority is split between idiots who don't have any appreciation for what we believe a Fallout game should be and actually reasonable people who like Fallout 3 for its "Hiking Simulator"-esque environmental storytelling and shooting galleries with filler and loot or those who like the type of story in FO3.

Good luck in your ivory tower :)

It's one thing to simply appreciate something and another to really like it.

I have no idea what you mean.

Edit: Additionally if you "really freaking loved" fallout 3 and it's for reasons like having great worldbuilding or great storytelling or great writing or having a really good well thought out story you are an utterly disingenuous person. I think it's fine if you liked Fallout 3 because of (pretty shallow) reasons like having good environmental storytelling where you just run from one place to the next shooting braindead super mutants and raiders along the way.

Oh and the differences between the gameplay and the trailer is just... I mean... Isn't this just flat out lying? I get that they want to do a sale pitch and whatever but still. What the game looks like in this trailer is 'not' what the game looks like in the leaked footage we've seen. At all. Whatsoever. So isn't this just flat out lying to the (potential) customers?

I watched a lot of streams... it looks Exactly like in the trailer.

That's the biggest positive thing anout Bethesda's marketing. They don't lie aboutthw graphics.

Bethesda is not special. They are a standard videogame company.

There are a couple of IP's that can do that.

George RR Martin can release a new SoiaF book tomorrow and it will sell millions on day one.

Star Wars can release one trailer and it will be the biggest movie of the year.

Fallout can release one trailer and people will shit themselves and it will sell crazy.

But almost no other properties can be marketed like that.

Michael Bay movies are the counter part to Bethesda games.

So funny. :)

I thought you were an obvious troll at first, but Im not so sure now if you arent just naive.

But Ill humor you and say all those things you listed are conter parts to Michael Bay movies and have you ever seen a AAA game released by the biggest publishers ever get a low score even when players dont like them?

I'm sorry, I've been trying to be optimistic about this game every step of the way, down to being open to the new leveling system and I consider myself a Bethesda fan, but if this was supposed to be a trailer that highlights the story, and what it has to offer...? yikes. The voice acting at 1:43 literally sounds like a bad take, she's slurring her words and sounds way too young to be playing a character of that age.

Bethesda is not as great as say CD Projekt...

but it's definetly one of the best developers out there. When you compare them to EA, Ubi, Square Nd other money grabbers..

You disagree that Fallout is one of the most beloved and popular IP's out there?

AAA games released by big publishers with low scores? Yeah sure. Bear in mind that in video game reviews everything lower than 75 is considered low. Here a couple of examples by different publishers.

They make a habit of releasing broken games. I don't see how they could be consdiered "the best".

Bought every Bethesda game since Oblivion on release.

Never had a "broken game". Always some bugs, nothing critical.

But there's room for improvement, sure.

I prefer to stick with people who are the latter.

That means you like the second type of people, former would be first.

I think bethesda lucked out in a way. They get to work with two of the greatest universes in video games, Elder Scrolls and Fallout, they can get away with almost anything if they have those 2 IPs, unless it's horse armor.

EA, Ubisoft and Square Enix are primarily publishers tho. Bethesda Softworks ain't the worst but it's really not comparable.

You can say about Ubisoft what ever you want. But they are at least responsible for Deus Ex Human revolution, which is a decent Deus Ex game. They haev at least proven that their writing is better than what Bethesda can deliver in my opinion.

Ok Ive lost it now.

Using not-Gamebryo engine because they already own it, have countless assets and requires the least amount of work hours to shit out a game.

Modders will fix mentality in the minds of fans leading to release of uninspired and broken games.

Paid mods for Skyrim that caused a big enough backlash that Valve had to post a announcement saying it was Bethesda's idea.

Each game and dlc requiring unofficial patches even after a dozen patches(Skyrim got how many patches? 11? 13? And still required fixes by the community).

Tell me how they arent money grabbers and one of the best developers out there.

Maybe you should check the "profesional critic" reviews sectionon those. They are just full of 10 and 9's....

In any case, who even uses Metacritic for arguments of anything? That site is skewed and a lot of AAA games that have low meta scores are usually the result of Rating bombing from people like 4chan and such.... Metacritic is a completely worthless website.

Bethesda should've copied their dialogue system where you read out the whole thing.

What does Ubisoft got to do with Deus ex: Human Revolution? They didn't do jack shit with the game.
