well yes.. making their constant failure of having their worlds overflow with valueless junk items into a feature and strong point of the crafting system is an improvement over every other one of their games that has all that junk for no apparent reason.

I guess we can give them credit for that as an incremental improvement in something.

I found that Bethesda's approach of giving the useless junk that littered the landscape an actual purpose as crafting materials rather than removing the junk entirely was one with good intentions, but not a very smart choice when it comes to their infamous engine. Especially when in Fallout 4 the junk is also persistent within medium range of each settlement. They're practically asking for engine issues at that point.

I'm not sure if they're too cheap to funnel money into a new engine, not in possession of enough time/resources, or if certain individuals within Bethesda are just too damn proud of the engine to let it go. Maybe it's none of them, or maybe it's all of them.
