Fallout 4 Survival Update is out [BETA]

I kind of like that Bethesda's giving out stuff for free.

And it's a good thing this is in beta testing so we can iron out the things we don't like.

From the sound of things, they did little to no early bug testing of this versus plop it onto the users. (What a shock.) Moreover, it sounds like they don't even know what they're doing with this idea.

For one, they've not adjusted the 1:20/30 timescale, so all primary needs rise stupidly fast as the day goes by, and they've not fixed the scripting for water healing you to full health with maybe five or so drinks so stimpacks are borderline useless except when far away from water.

And the forums there? Just goes to show that not only are Bethesda fans willing to act like unpaid labor, some are unwilling to look at this game beyond a power fantasy.

If this engine is anything like the last few engines, changing timescale from default breaks quests, AI packages.... Oh yeah, Fallout 4 doesn't have any good quests and the AI is garbage anyway, they should totally 'fix' the timescale.

What will ultimately determine the success of this stuff for me is whether or not Bethesda's Survival mode can stand toe-to-toe with what modders have always provided for free. If not, then it's just one more reason delaying the modding tools was a shady thing.

Just one more reason why this should've been on the table, and in consideration, long before the last year of development.

Don't you mean see if they can surpass what modders have done after delaying the release of the kit and all the other bullshit they've thrown together?

:lmao: my friend just told me this:
So apparently they disabled fast travel in the game, but not via the android/iphone app.
I am so glad I don't even have Fallout 4 installed anymore :seriouslyno:.

Yeah I find it pretty pathetic that a supposedly "professional" game studio is outdone by mere modders. Modders have to use their free time and limited knowledge with the tools to create mods and the professional game studio has people working with a lot of knowledge and fellow employees they can ask for help from and they have years (supposedly 4) to create the game and this is all they managed to do? I mean. It's pathetic. That shouldn't happen. You should not be blown out of the water by mere modders constantly.

Just remember, this is the mindset these guys have for selling this crap off:

The man knows how to sell shit even though I don't mean it as if it's suppose to be a good thing.

Something I have been saying for ages as a joke just became more real... With the Survival beta and Bethesda showing that they can prevent mods from working whenever they want to, and now this:

https://community.bethesda.net/thread/3788

Is this the start of Bethesda only allowing mods on their games from bethesda.net?

Oh my God is that glorious as so many of them are in denial! I have to get some popcorn for this shit!

Look at this reply from there

Someone in denial said:
Metrics collection for beta is the only thing that really makes sense,

"Oh yes our lord and savior could do no wrong! We're not in denial you are!"

The stupid thing is that modders already know of a way to bypass the no mods on the survival beta :lmao: all one needs to do is add manually the mod into Loadorder.txt and plugin.txt and then set them to read only :lmao:. I think it works with .esp files and not with .esm... but since I didn't try it because I am not reinstalling FO4 anytime soon I have no idea.

I think Bethesda is really set on how dumb their users are to allow for such a basic and logical trick that everyone with half a brain could think of :postviper:.

So Fallout 4 could now be classed as malware. It gathers data from your computer and sends it off somewhere without your express consent? Anyone know what exactly is the context/content of this data being sent?

Damn that new forum design over there sucks ass too.

The guys on the Beth forum said it had something to do with mods, could be Bethesda prepping their monopolisation of mods, they've been wanting to do that for a while and, now that they have to get mods working on consoles they have an excuse.
