Ahh yes the "I don't like it so its not canon" argument.

    Mature.

I think Fallout 3 is the best written and best game mechanically in the series. It's a modern day masterpiece. It's just a shame that Bethesda then released Fallout 4 because that game was baaaaaad.

Actually most water sources in Fallout New Vegas are clean, you can drink and swim in most places radiation free. The only water sources you still get rads from are puddles (I assume they were just oversights) or drinking from toilets.
You should have read my edit, I am still reading this thread:

Actually you can get radiation in a number of places. Specifically,
-Every town's water tower is irradiated(Primm, Nipton, Novac, Nelson)
-As are the water taps at places like Wolfhorn Ranch
-As is that pond in Spring MT Rach state park
-The toilets and sinks at the mojave outpost
-The obvious places like Jack Rabbit Springs, Searchlight, the two nuke craters, the smaller craters next to Ranger station echo
Basically every water source south of Vegas proper, either actual puddles or drinkable activators, is irradiated.

The only water not irradiated is the lake/river, and in Vegas proper, since the water is brought by pipe from the lake.

Am I the only one who finds critiques of New Vegas to be rather sexy?

I can't argue with that since I can't check at the moment and I was going by memory on that one, so I give you that. But still most of the water sources (most sinks which pretty much every house in the game have, the lake and river, etc) in the game are not radiated.
I noticed you didn't acknowledged what I said about Super Mutants not healing in Fallout New Vegas (or Fallout 3), there is nothing in the game mechanics giving Super Mutants healing from radiation (no flag, no enchantment/effect, no scripted event, nothing).

    Except the sinks/toilets in
    -The Novac motel rooms
    -The Nipton houses
    -The mojave outpost
    -Primm
    -Nelson

The only places in the southern half of the map that have clean water sinks/toilets are Goodsprings(which gets its water from GSS), and Cottenwood cove(which OFC sits right on the river)

Because it blatantly untrue. I've even went in-game and tested it, and super mutants are regenerating HP while standing in high radiation areas like outside Vault 87

I see he grows a few corn stalks in that picture... At least he grows something.

    EDIT:
Do you know how programming works? If it is not in the code it doesn't happen. So show me an unmodded Fallout New Vegas video of it happening or it doesn't. You have the claims that it happens when the game tells me it doesn't, so prove me wrong.

In all seriousness, I always thought the doors were boarded up before the war.
Even if he does do a but of Farming, it won't take much effort to get out and go round the corner and make sure everything is okay.

Also, the whole Radiation regenerating Super Mutants could either be a retcon or an oversight.
Maybe Bethesda decided their game should have regenerating Super Mutants and Obsidian either overlooked it because they didn't think it was too important to change or because they simply didn't know is up for debate.

The simple answer is, when using code that's already been used in a wildly popular game, it can seem very different for other players.
Maybe Obsidian did try to remove the regenerating HP but found the game unbalanced to the point that putting it back in made the most sense in terms of gameplay.
Who knows what went on there.

Oversight doesn't have to be made canon, and neither do the game mechanics and stuff.
    It's just there.
Most gamers didn't notice it if it was there, that doesn't mean it's canon or not canon.
It just means only a handful of people did know it was there.

It doesn't happen in Fallout 3 either. Remember, I am part of the TTW team, we deal with Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 inner works (converting the stuff from 3 to New Vegas).

Except in NV you can find corn growing out in the wild(which doesn't make any sense but w/e)

Nothing suggests hes growing it, and the fact there is no order to its layout suggests its just naturally growing there, like it is in the region.

    Ah fair enough.
I was mostly just trying to point out a what if scenario more than anything.

If it really is there and Greed is telling the truth, than it seems to be a problem that can't really be fixed (it's an issue deep rooted into the Engine or there's certain code causing the issue which isn't easy to find).

I don't know much about the software and coding side of Fallout 3 and NV if I'm being honest.

Okay, one last reply. I gave an answer (but I acknowledge that there are gaps in lore so excuse me for making an educated guess) but I see only see nitpicking from you so let me reiterate my answer. One could theorize that there were smaller farms and settlements outside the Strip since the region was not as badly hit. The outlying area seemed fine, save for regions with extensive amounts of mutant animals, and there could have been small villages before the arrival of the main factions that would have existed but not lasted due to the various hostile tribals of the old Strip. Like this village:
    http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Tribal_village
Don't forget, the wall of the Strip was constructed on House's orders in recent years so it would have been easier to obtain supplies from areas outside of the Strip.

There have been places where farms could have been made but in New Vegas, the setting has reached a point where those places would have been taken over by the factions like NCR Sharecroppers.

The gamepedia article about it doesn't say we can find maize in the wilderness, all the locations are either from vendors or from farms/settlements/previous farms:

I wonder if it's trying to make up fallacies to make 4 look better.

On a more serious note, I wonder how does the crops of the Wolfhorn Ranch survive for so long? I imagine it would have been a while since Ulysses left for the Divide.

They aren't looking very good, from all the entire plantation only two plants are still alive (can be harvested by what that article I linked says).
