Maybe if they spent more time of development instead of making F4 memes the game would be better.
It wouldn't be but a man could dream.

Since Bethesda is a private company, you can't buy any even if you want.Where's the info on Beth/Zenimax stocks though? You saw what happened to ActiBlizzard after the Immortal incident? It's down almost 50%
Wow. I'm becoming convinced at this point that the intellectual property that is Fallout is seemingly cursed. Whoever owns the IP is doomed to piss off their fanbase bad.
Metacritic scores (PC first then Playstation then Xbox console)
Fallout ---------------------------- 89 | N/A | N/A
Fallout 2 ------------------------- 86 | N/A | N/A
Fallout Tactics ------------------ 82 | N/A | N/A
Fallout Brotherhood of Steel - N/A | 64 | 66
Fallout 3 ------------------------- 91 | 90 | 93
Fallout New Vegas ------------- 84 | 84 | 82
Fallout 4 ------------------------- 84 | 87 | 88
Fallout 76 ------------------------ 52 | 52 | 49
Even according to critics who I usually ignore it seems like there is three games worth playing then a shit one. And some Fallout fans were pissed at 2 and/or Tactics and a lot of them were pissed off at BoS. It's comparable to the fans of Fallout 3 dislike New Vegas or 4.
Not to mention that all the games I've played (not Tactics or BoS) have been fairly buggy games and it's only gotten worse the newer the title is. Also, the fact that we have Bethesda false advertising to the fans and then leaking the customers' information afterwards to cause a bigger and bigger blunder.
I'm not asking you to see it like a Bethesda fan but more from an informational standpoint. This franchise seemingly can't catch a break even from a financially sound standpoint. Both companies have had their great successes only to fall to the trends of modern times and piss off the critics and fans alike. Interplay tried to make more action based games with the franchise which didn't turn out so hot. Bethesda is trying to make a live service with the franchise and it's failing even worse.
Also, the idea that Tim had to fight to keep Fallout 1 the way it was (or keep it at all) after they acquired the D&D licenses and after the release of Diablo.
This series and it's fans (Old school and Bethesda ones alike) have had to be disappointed at some point now. I'm just waiting for someone else to obtain this IP and make two games well received by the larger side of the fanbase, a passable third one, and burn and fail on the fourth.
This isn't a factual science of Fallout as there are differences between all of them and the time periods and whatnot. Lots of factors here. It's just something I've been thinking about a lot lately.
