Fallout 8-bit - Now 'the Wastelander' - Gameplay added 0411

Couldnt resist creating alittle titlescreen:

The mapper and map render rewritten and working. Use F1 for Tiles and F2 for blocks. PageUp and PageDown to change Tiles.

As far as story goes:
Maybe the guy has been out in the wastes for his whole life. Born without a home.

Spent the afternoon fixing the editor and bmp importer. Then inspiration struck and I started to create a worldmap.

1280x800 tiles will make a 40960x25600 pixels map.

Very nicely done mate.
I have a suggestion that will probably mean some more work for you but here it goes.

Can you implement a seperate combat/tactical screen? Something like a square or hex based field (with some random features like boulders etc) that you can play TBS style?

Also in a similar vein, can you implement another seperate (pop-up) screen to be used with puzzles. Thet way one could insert things like mastermind, battleship, pipes and similar game codes to create hacking or lockpicking or whatever mini games :D

Weapon class:
- Bullets Max
- Bullets Current
- Damage Max
- Aim (the amount of chance that you hit)
- Actionpoint

Is this enough?

Added towns!!!

Its possible to enter towns. I started to work on the world and its Texas.

Towns im working on right now:
- Dallas
- San Antonio
- Austin

I double-clicked ''Project1.exe'' and got an error so I downloaded SDL.dll, now I get

''The procedure entry point SDL_getenv could not be located in the dynamic link library SDL.dll."

Any idea what to do? :/

Edit: Nevermind, I updated the SDL.dll to a more up to date version (the previous one I downloaded wasn't as current), and then got another error. I subsequently updated all the SDL files that the game came with and now it's working.

It is really funny to see this game, I would never play this game even if there is no other game to play. It will be like playing a game of our grand fathers.

Check it, WASTELAND REPLENISHED! I LOVE YOU.
teehee.
NOT.
"The ground here seems to glow."
1 move later...
"You have died."
Ah, the good old days...

I hit the wall and stopped the development when the lack of story didnt push me forward. So any writers out there who wants to make an "8-bit game" feel free to post or mail me something.

I've been working with deadlus for a couple of months on "The Wastelander". Expect a demo, possibly this summer. Here are some teaser screenshots:

I like how you draw inspiration from 1988' Wasteland. I'm seriously expecting to play this one.
