Fallout 1 mod Fallout Fixt - next release will be some time in Jan 2020

I reinstalled it all fresh and now it crashes anytime i go to worldmap. did 6.1 alpha then the 6.2 patch. not even any movement towards shadey sands

Are you starting new games, or loading saved ones?
 
FYI the Shady Sands crash is fixed in my files for next release, reinstall wasn't necessary at all. That's probably what messed it up.

Either way the crashes are strange. More details please:

1) Does it happen the second you click somewhere on the world map after leaving Vault 13 cave?

2) Have you tried different characters, like try a couple of the pre-made ones.

3) Does everything run fine without FIXT installed?

4) Since you already reinstalled already anyway, try making a backup of your Fallout folder first, then deleting the entire original Fallout folder's contents and reinstall. It sounds like your wipe/reinstall messed something up. Try with just 6.1 without the patch first.

And of course, savegame is needed as usual.
 
Hm. yes i can move a little around but it crashes a lot.

It even crashed IN the rat place of vault 13 once. only once.

It can happen as soon as i click sometimes but more often than not it happens whne i hit enter on Unknown which is shady sands.

I havent tried premade characters. i make Finnesse/good natured guy who has 2 endurance and high charisma. I like it that way. :P

Oh, it ran fine with hi-res patch and nothing much else. I never knew if teamx patches worked or not. I couldnt really see the difference with them as it has been so long since i played the game i wouldnt know the difference. I know when i tried to do third party armour mods they never worked.

I will wipe and reinstall again with just 6.1 now.
 
Well don't try to go to Shady Sands, that is bugged for some people in current versions. Everywhere else should work fine though.

Just sit tight for a bit, I will be releasing 6.3 soon.

Understandable. I guess you just gotta wait then.

In the meantime, if you use Full Custom install instead of Fixes Only, it should stop the Shady Sands crash.
 
First off, I love the mod (or rather as far as I've got into it), so thanks. :)

I do have a few technical problems I'd like to share though. A couple that are kinda minor and a couple I'd say that are pretty bad.

The 'intimate interactions' with Tandi just aren't happening (She just tells me to find a Brahma like she usually does even though I meet at least one of the requirements mentioned earlier) and the extra prostitutes are missing. I was a bit disappointing that I couldn't have my dude get some other kind of action in more ways but figured it was just a few minor bugs that would get fixed later so I pressed on. Worlds not gonna save itself, y'know.

Around when I got to Boneyard, occasionally during combat the games animations and everything would appear to freeze when it came to either my companions or the enemies turn in combat. iIt seemed to happen more with my companions but for all I know it was happening both ways. It wasn't a permanent freeze or anything, thankfully, it just froze for a few moments when either my companions or enemies had their first turns and stopped right when it came to my turn. The second turns and after the combat played out normally in that area.

Then I reached the Cathedral and that's where things started getting weird.
I run into the main area on the first floor and suddenly I'm warped back to the entry hallway. I figured it was just a one time occurrence so I tried running up there again. Once again I'm randomly warped back to the entrance area. It seems to be a very random bug and nasty too.

I'm using the version of Fallout from GoG, if that matters. I'd share a save but I tried reinstalling everything and deleted everything to see if things fixed themselves by doing so. Far as I know it doesn't look like it though.

- Tandi: That was a stupid mistake of mine in the installation files; it'll be fixed in next release (which should be out soon)

- Combat freezing, are you in Windowed mode? If so, this is also fixed in next release (it's a bug in f1_res and next release includes newest version of f1_res)

- Warping I forgot was still happening, that's an accidental side-effect of my "Player rotates to face the person when you initiate dialog with them" code. It's kinda funny actually. In certain situations, the "talk to me" code can be triggered even from far away, so the player teleports near that NPC, but usually only briefly since you're moving, so you end up bouncing back and forth. I'll have to locate the script(s) that are causing this.

And no, sadly a reinstall won't fix it since those are currently issues with the mod itself :( Alpha version and all.
 
Moof, can you get me a savegame for the Cathedral? I'm having trouble duplicating the teleporting bug.

I had the same bug when playing FIXT 6.1. It seemed completely random. When on the main floor, Vault Dweller and his companions (Tycho, Ian, Katja, Dogmeat and recruited Followers of Apocalypse) may get teleported in front of the cathedral. It happens in combat, running around, during the script with Laura, interacting with objects or even when standing still not doing anything.

version: Fallout GOG
FIXT 6.1 FULL_CUSTOM -> option FULL (Clean install -> game+mod)

here is the savegame. It's from FIXT6.1 playthrough. The bug is still happening with the game updated to FIXT6.3 (using the old 6.1 savegame)
