Re: Changelog

Is there a changelog for the entire FIXT?
Nope, not yet. I've been putting it off because building those is kind of a pain in the ass.

Ok what should I do to get this working? Just use only 6.1 I guess?
You could try that but honestly I'm not sure why Shady Sands is crashing. Like I said I'll look into it but it might just be your system being weird.

To see if FIXT is causing it, backup your Fallout folder (just copy it somewhere), uninstall FIXT, uninstall Fallout, delete the current Fallout folder if it exists (within the Steam folders, not the backup) then reinstall Fallout and try just running Fallout as a fresh install, without any plugins or mods.

I'm going to try to post a lot less for a while. I wrote out a life and time-usage priority list and modding was #7, whereas I've been spending time on it as if it were #1. I'm going to try to spend a lot less time on this -- although I think it probably won't work -- because I need to get other things done.

I have fun at it and I feel sort of an obligation to you all to fix bugs and improve it, especially broken install options and crashes, but realistically I can't be spending so much time on it like this. I want to though :( Modding is actually addicting to me, which is unfortunate.

Thanks for understanding. And please don't stop posting or questions and discussion, it will be seen and be useful even if I'm not around as often 8-)

Hey man sorry to take all your time. I'll let ya know if I get it working with 6.1 and the hi rez patch. Don't let your labor of love kill you. That's what your job and family are for. Thanks for the help.

Nah that message had nothing to do with you, don't worry about it :)

Just popping in real quick to say I am indeed still going to work FIXT and the Engine Conversion, just slower :P

I'll try to get the 6.3 patch out as soon as I can, given the circumstances, because I know f1_res 4.1.4 will fix issues, plus I need to include the installer fixes and lack of endgame slideshow fix. I mean come on, a mod where some of the choices in installer don't actually take effect, and it accidentally disables the endgame slideshow? Lame.

Installer fixes done, as is sideshow / endgame fix, newest f1res and some other stuff.

The only "big" things left to do is including Spanish and Czech translations, and doing the comprehensive changelog.

EDIT: Comprehensive changelog done. Ugh, that took me like four hours. It's funny, I always get kinda sad when I combine changelogs like that, because the list gets so much smaller, so I feel like I haven't done very much, I'm like "damn, three years and this is all I have on here?"

If you take Ian into the Maltese Falcon, he mentions live music. Maybe the bar should have a band.
Added to Suggestions in the bugs wiki.

- Comprehensive changelog is now finished; link is in my signature and available in main Fallout FIXT thread.

The changelog is pertty nice. Just think the radiation from food is a bit too high IMO, unless it can get dropped a bit after some time.

Thanks guys.

The nice thing about linking to it on Dropbox like that, is I never have to update the log here, once I update it locally on my computer then it's immediately available for all to see the updates :)

Define "dropped a bit after some time"?

But yes I agree, I'm not sure about how many rads is Too Many. What amounts do you think would work better?

Like +5 rads for instant effect and -2 rad after 24 or 48 hrs, a bit similar to drug's side effects.
In vanilla, the fruit heals you +(1 to 4) HP, and gives +1 rad after 2 hr and anther +1 after 8 hrs. I'd limit food to have total +5 rads at most, with the same duration setting (2 hrs & 8 hrs):
Code:
Fruit: +1 rad then +2 rads.
Iguana-on-a-Stick, whole: +2 rads then +3 rads.
Iguana-on-a-Stick, bits: +1 rad then +1 rad (since now it heals as the same as the fruit in vanilla)
Nuka-Cola: +1 rad instantly, then +1 rad after 1 hr.

Thanks.

Next version will also include a spoiler-free installation option within the Fixes Only download, (selections of Custom and Standard instead of only custom) as well as a smaller download size for it.

Shady sands is crashing.

GOG download, win7 64 bit.

Fixit patch looked nice but cant enter shady sands.
Could you send me a savegame please? Thank you.

Got it, thank you. I was able to duplicate it with 6.1 (yay! finally) but not 6.2 - which version are you using? [6.2 is a patch, link in my signature, try installing that if you haven't already]

And which download, was it Full Custom or Fixes Only?

EDIT: It was Aradesh's script. Glad I finally got that nailed down, it crept up in version 6.1 by accident.
EDIT2: Found the bug and squashed, it will be fixed in 6.3.

Now if I could figure out how to fix those damn worldmap crashes. I actually got one myself yesterday, first one ever. But of course it happened the once and then I couldn't duplicate it.

6.3 will include modified verbiage for the installation types in Full Custom and German Uncut downloads; it's now in a tiered "Purist" system which I think is both amusing and helpful :)
Fixes Only [Purist] - Include all fixes, but don't include any non-canon new content.
Standard [Half-Purist] - All fixes, and do include non-controversial new content.
Full [Purists Not Allowed] - All fixes, and include all of the new content.
Custom [WARNING: SPOILERS!!!] - All fixes, and the new content is customizable.; Flags: iscustom
