Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada (extended)

Ah , I am calm again :D Take your time , no rush,as long as this is still being worked on , I am very happy :)

Many many thanks for still working on this translation.

Hey I just realized that Google translator have no problems to convert Russian into Polish probably because very similar structure of languages, its much more messy when trying into English, so am wonder about that idea to make quick Polish translation this way, then I would made English, and somebody would correct grammar etc

Polish and Russians languages sounds simillar but thats about it. There's many gramatic structures in russian that are unique to their languge and it's same for polish. % of gibberish that google translate will give you would be still way to huge. No easy way to translate stuff around yet mate. We need another 20 years of technical advance for that to happen.

Not quite, structurally (grammar- and syntax-wise) these languages are almost identical, the main difference between Polish and Russian is the vocabulary (i.e. lexical and idiomatic parts). Check out the Interslavic project, it uses the common Slavic vocabulary and Northern Slavic grammar structure, which is basically the same for everyone in the Northern belt, from the Sorbs to the Pomors. Both, Poles and Russians, understand Interslavic very well.

True, but that's not because Russian and Polish differ that much, GT uses machine learning algorithms, the demand for Russian-Polish translations is too low, thus the learning base for the algorithms is too small.

My apologies to everyone, the project is currently dead... kind of.
It seems everyone is busy or not responding, me and other translators are burned out as well as our editors, so we must put the translation on hold for now, we hope we can come back to it in the future when everyone is free and passionate to work again.
Its sad we have to leave it in semi finished state, but we are all tired of hours of texts.
Here is the latest version for everyone that are still interested please have fun and dont judge us too hard.

Dionis, that's unfortunate, my friend.
Lately we were discussing with burn if it's possible to transfer translation to his Weblate site ( tra.bgforge.net ) in order to reduce costs of the project's maintaining/coordination and he said he would be glad to, but he needs the list of files that had been finalized. Could you arrange it, please?

Sure I have every file in order by city, there only few files left and there are also few game files (I have the whole file structure broken down so you only have to open one file instead of searching for hours), I only ask one thing, I ask you to remember and mention everyone that put hundreds of hours into translation before you please, and it would be better if he pm me personally, it's not about me it's about people that have placed their soul into this project so I have to know it goes to good hands.
Also who is he? Is he a translator?
Edit: oh I must have misunderstood, it's just a translation site right, so do you need only the files that are unfinished? I can send him few dialog files and work on the game files that are left.
Still it's a shame we don't have editors from US or UK that can make texts shine, our editor snikers is tired too, he almost did half of the game singlehandedly

Well, he has translated a few mods, yes. And, as far as I can tell, his English is better than mine. But that's not the point.
Weblate, as you have noticed, is just a translation platform which comes in handy in cases like this, when old translators are worn out and nobody is eager to continue working on the project. First of all, it publically preserves the work that has been done, also it makes things easier to start againg for someone from the outside. And because Weblate provides a very atomized interface (one can basically just translate a few phrases as "suggestions" and then leave) it's a much less stressful way for translators to contribute.

Well, yes, I guess. Better contact him directly on this.
He just told me, he needs the list of files that are finished (fully edited). To not touch them in future, I assume.

I'll work out which files are translated. But could you also let me know which ones are have been proofread, and which ones haven't?

I wouldn't recommend using Google translate. It usually tends to lose the meaning of a sentence, so even after they've been cleaned up they may be completely wrong.

I have translated files for New Reno that need to be cleaned up by native English speakers. I had previously sent them to other editors but they never got back to me. If anyone is interested in helping clean up translated files, PM me and I will send you some.

Even after we finish that, of course, we will only have up to New Reno translated, but I still don't recommend using Google translate versions. I've played a Google-translated version of this mod and near the end of the game some dialogues become basically incomprehensible.

Could you share already cleaned up ones, so they'd be added to FN.007 version?
