Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada (extended)

Why I get error "Game initialzation failed!" when I run nevadaHD.exe? nevada.exe is normally function.

Sorry,I use 3440*1440.Change it to 1280*1024 then everything works fine.
But now I can't enter my name in English...Well not a problem.

Fallout Nevada works fine up to 1920x1080. there's no point in going beyond that. if you have a bigger monitor simply set 1920x1080 in HRP and keep the 2x scaling turned off to have a normal experience (without pixelhunting). As to why it might not work for You, is that in certain .cfg file in game's folder you have a position "art_cache_size=" it's the number of megabytes of ram reserved for game's graphics. the number of the unpatched game is not too high. i advise setting it to at least 512 or 1024 provided that you have enaugh system emory *and* you have the "OverideArtCacheSize=0" set in ddraw.ini . if ddraw.ini is set to OverrideArtCacheSize=1 the game will force the value art_cache_size= to 256 megabytes wich might proove not enaugh for such high resoution as 3440x1440, hence why it is advised to set OverideArtCacheSize=0 .
 
hi, i get a black screen after the opening cinematic. can't see the main menu, but can still hear the sounds.
i have tried changing mode in the [graphics] section of ddraw.ini to 4 or 5, but the black screen still persists. any help?

If you folks talk about the post Fallout:Nevada intro than be patient while watching.. the video feed (or actually screeen slides) start few seconds after the voiceover and subtitles. Just wait like 10-20 seconds and you'll see for yourselfs.

No, not that. The black screen happen after the intro. The video actually works perfectly, but when it´s over, and I should see the main menu, the only thing I get is black screen and the music in the background.
 
In my latest save I've found some bugs.

- I can't use the punching bags in Area 51 game and character just says error.
- In lovelock after completing a quest an item called "nothing" spawns in my inventory. It looks like a piece of paper and cannot be used.
- If I go in to the saloon in Uranium City with my gun out bartender says "Error" and I can only reply with "Error"

Oh man. Provide some saves pls, especially about 2nd and 3rd.
The punching bags error must be solved by Pyran in the last version, try that one

Answer: The main path of the game and the mod should not be different. Example:
Correctly: X:\My Games\Fallout 2 & X:\My Games\Fallout 2\<Mod>
Wrong: X:\My Games\Fallout 2 & X:\Games\Fallout 2\<Mod>
If you need install into Fallout 2 folder. Please active "root directory mode" checkbox and change the install path to ..\Fallout 2 (without <name of mod>).

I have started playing this great mod recently and there's my noob question: for which level you could gain a new perk (without skilled trait)?
 
not 2nd and 5th but rather at lvl 3 and at lvl 6 then at lvl 9 etc. that is assuming you don't have the skilled triat or an perk level related mods.
 
I try to solve Luciano's third quest in New Reno where i need to provoke conflict with gangsters Thompson and Stryker. They suggest me blow up both gangster's front doors with bomb, but i couldn't manage it yet.

Which door should I blow up with what explosive? Main doors of Thompson (ground level) are unaffected to dynamite timer, the archway in the bunker is also. I have no success with Stryker's doors also.

Actually I figured it out. Both doors are at ground level, the main doors of both building. You need to use the explosives from backpack, not from your hand (hold left mouse on door -> backpack -> dynamite). No need for dynamite timer, dyn sticks and grenades are good also. You will get a red message "trapped" when doing it right. Don't use termite on doors! (Doors melts down but mission becomes impossible to complete).
