Obsidian, makers of famously buggy games.
Bethesda, users of a famously buggy engine.

It's a match made in a heaven that keeps bluescreening.

Gamebryo isn't a famously buggy engine. It's Bethesda's implementation of it that it's buggy.

Gamebryo has its problems, though, aside from Beth's pathetic AI/coding. I assume that's why Larian decided to remake Divinity 2 with an "improved" engine.

I think Kotor 2 was quite well done. It was just rushed
Even rushed, it still showed RPG mechanics and gameplay better than most on the market
Yes that for sure. I think the characters had really a lot of diversity. Something I miss in bioware games a lot recently. particularly in playing Dragon age it feelt so damn similar to Kotor 1 even in gameplay ... I liked DA somewhat. But I could not really play it a second time cause of those boring "played that already" part, with the charactes and gameplay.

Same goes for Mass Effect 2.
I am glad they are making additional story modules for it as I really can't stand replaying ME2.

Games these days barely have replay value.

Despite this, i,ve been watching playthroughs and the guy encountered the same voice twice in a row, in the same building, really easy to tell because he talked to one bloke, and then a minute later the quest was talking to another bloke who sounded exactly the same. :(

Obsidian being located on the west coast really did wonders for the voice talent.

Indeed. I honestly think that this has more to do with the quality of Bethesda's VA than anything else - it's just easier to get someone in a local area to drive down for a day or two to sit in a recording booth and drink herbal teas than it is to fly someone from across the continent to do the same thing.

There's a reason that Albertans recognize a lot of Edmonton theatrical actors in Bioware games, after all (Bioware is actually kind of different in that they devote an immense amount of money and energy to VA and star power in their big franchises, but even so, most of it still comes from grabbing people who work near their offices).
