Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay

Aaaaand two games to be played in god mode for a slightly above average story released in the same year by Obsidian...

Looks like they're going down sooner than later.

It looks that way.

While they sometimes get the short end of the stick, they also don't help themselves with the bugs and lack of polish.

The "industry" is just interested in churning out the same drooling zombie tripe with a new number tacked on the end.

Of course they played in god mode. It's a demonstration. He didn't take any damage whatsoever. I'm waiting for a real gameplay video to see if it is difficult or not.

I swear, some of you guts are cynical for no reason at all.

are mutants place holders from F3?
I would assume so. This is probably footage from the first demo.

Anyway, it looks fine, but it's hard to get much attention with a product that looks so similar to the original. Bethesda is usually pretty slick, but they shouldn't have let IGN handle this.

NV: new money making scheme! :D same as f3

That was terrible . . . They can release a better first gameplay video then that. While New Vegas is pretty much a pro mod, that gameplay video looked like your average mod for Fallout 3. The Solar energy laser thing they showed off that was a f*cking joke, that was nothing anywhere close to what the screenshot's show off. Fallout 3 isn't that old I mean wtf lol . . .

I dunno, I didn't think id ever say this but im losing hype for the game fast.

Keep in mind, that it's a IGN preview. Most likely IGN has more material and cutted it down to a 50 seconds preview. So... we don't know, maybe the rest of the material is less shooting and more other stuff. In this case, we can just wait for more.

Yea and IGN has been going down hill with presentation's & game video's I think too. Ive been checking out gamespot more then IGN latley, there video review's on games are a lot better as well.

Well, what did you guys expected? The Fallout 3 look is gone now? It should have been clear from the beginning, that this will not happen, regardless of who is developing the game or where the setting is placed. And the screenshots proved that already long time before.

I can't really understand the whining about this now...

The only thing we can hope for is a more complex rpg mechanic and a better story with better characters and dialogues. That's all.
exactly ...remember true gamers shouldn't die over great graphics.the more & more i play alpha p (far as writing & story) i can't wait for nv!

IGN and Gamespot? It's like Scylla and Charybdis.

In real life infantry uses hand(or rather back) carried GMG's as squad support weapons, 2 man crew one carrying the gun and the other carrying the tripod and ammo boxes. and i doubt anyone outside the category of "stupid enough" would fire it holding it in his hands, as the recoil would be enormous.

Irl(aside from vehicle mounts etc.) it is shot from a 10-20kg tripod and actually loading it requires sitting down and pulling the handles with your back while countering with your legs.

There are iron sights on it.

Realism of such a weapon in a hand-held single person version is quite questionable

well, we've had the hand-held minigun from start, so I don't really care about realism in this case.

I will never understand Beth's marketing - how come their videos always SUCK so bad?

In Fallout 3 you can create amazing videos - beautiful really. But they always insist on showing their games in worst possible way.

Sure, you could create good videos, but that would require changing the animations and fiddling around with the actual game. And that wouldn't be very representative now would it.

I have seen some pretty good ones with atmosphere and all that jazz but all I can remember are those wasteland dancing ones. :V

I think we would have been better off if they just let Gamestop do it....2 tap dancing mutants with people shooting at them(ala Bad Company 2) would be more enjoyable than what I just saw.

You're complaining about realism in a game with mutants, plasma rifles and shoulder launched mini nukes.
