Fallout New Vegas RPG

You're right Chrome, I saw the mistakes as well and was PM'd about them. I did create a simpler version of Krldraav in OOC for Darkness Falls but personally I only made Krldraav for something I do at home and figured he doesn't fit in with RPs. So I created Lupo Aquila and he did alright. Now I'm trying to do a new guy who was an ex-chairman, very charismatic and arrogant, and loves women. I've been trying delete Krldraav off the character introduction but it won't let me. Anyway, I really appreciate the criticism and feedback Chrome, so thanks. :)

Brad is impulsive
So you've noticed. I'm suprised it took this long for someone to mention it.

Hey all! Sorry I forgot to mention it, but I went camping on wednesday and didn't come back til today. Now that I've cought up on Blood ties, all tied up, and this thread, I'm ready to start rping again. Also, that one year later thing sounds great! It kind of reminds me of the ending slideshow from 1/2/NV.

Nice camping, where did you go? I usually go to Cumbria in UK, sorry for going off-topic but just making conversation.

Right sorry I didn't mention (and sorry for double post), but i'm away on holiday for 2 weeks to Bulgaria, we're in quite a good hotel so I should be able to keep in contact, but just in-case you know why. If the action starts just have you character mention something about me firing into the enemy, but see ya.

I just went where I usually go. An ancestor of mine fought in the civil war, so he got a huge plot of land that's just a 3 hour drive from my house. He only cleared a fraction of it, but he made a path in the woods nearby. It's great for atv riding.

Wow, that sounds like fun.

On another topic.
My character is probably to young, he should probably be somewhere between 28 and 34, since the trip from the West to New Vegas would have taken years. My character who I hope to introduce in the near future is probably not flawed enough. He can be a bit greedy at times, especially when it's time to split the loot. His biggest character flaw is that he is to idealistic. He is to trusting and that has gotten him in to more troubles than he can count, he's smart enough to get paid at least half in advance, but to trusting when he turns his back on those he considers trust worthy.

[EDIT: I forgot to mention he has a bit of a mentats addiction, he makes and sells chems including but not limited to: mentats, party time mentats, jet, ultrajet, med-X, slasher, stimpacks, psycho, hydra, steady, rocket, turbo, and has even been known to make moonshine and other alcohols such as Whiskey.]

He has been changed by his travels, he is not as trusting as he once was when he was a boy just out of the Vault or even a young man leaving his home with the belief he could make a difference and help his town prosper.

My characters true dream is to establish a city with advanced technology (advanced to him since he lives in the wasteland mind you) such as clean running water, food produced in the city, power from a renewable resource (such as solar energy), an actual government structure with enforced laws, and true safety provided by a wall that surrounds the city with patrol along the top of the wall. He wants to establish some thing that will revive the power the Old World once held. The cities goal would be to research both new and old technologies to build a true future for the world, but with the power he has now it is only a pipe dream.

Though on a darker note he would probably only allow people to live in the city if they had skills in need or would be of use in other ways, so his dream may not be as saintly as it appears.

IMPORTANT: I may be unable to access the internet between August 13 through the 16th. I'll try to check during that time, so I don't miss it if you get to saving the prisoners in that time period.

I'd work on it a bit yeah. Though the idea of being addicted to Mentats, or anything is a good idea. That can be the flaw actually. Not just the addiction to the chem but an addictive personality. THAT would be a good character for an RP placed around New Vegas.

I think I followed the "give your character real flaws" rule a little too well.
Crippling social skills
(Just look at his conversation with Yas at gommorah)

Easily distracted
"omg a puppy! Imma go save it! Bai guise, have fun with those scorpions!"

General Incompetence
"I'm afraid of khans getting into this heavily guarded caravan compound! I'm gonna sleep with my gun in my hand." BKAM!

It's like I'm a jinxed companion. Like the pariah dog.

Hmm. I may need to go read the start of the RP again.
Anyway, I like Brad as a character. And in character Jacob's taking a liking to him as well.

Honestly in the entire party, Pawnsy and Brad are highest on Jacob's "friendship" meter. Mostly because he finds the two of them amusing. Possibly because they are the two he's interacted with most outside of Yasmin. And he doesn't see her as a friend but an employer.

Nice to know Pawnsy has a friend or two. I personally don't know if I gave my character enough flaws or too many.On another note I'm sure Pawnsy will love someone else who uses and makes drugs, they can share tips while they hang up the laundry, along with many of the other activities drug dealers do...

A lot of the flaws develope as the RP goes along. Take Nevest for instance. He turned out to have a superiority complex (nothing against the actual Nevest, it's a good thing). It's good when characters traits get revealed as they go along. The way they react to things shapes them and makes them realistic and unique. I've been RPing since I was 13 and in the 8 years I've found when you just let them go it makes it more natural and fun for all involved.

Indeed. It is fun to develop flaws as it goes. And for what it's worth flaws don't have to necessarily be in the personality, though it helps. Physical flaws are good too.

Let's use Jacob as an example once again. His main physical flaw is his lack of endurance. I tried to get that point across with him being winded after the sprint, which I came up with in post. At first it was just because of his leg, but then I figured I could add that into the character.

Physically, Yasmin is a pretty good specimen. Minus the addiction, she is healthy, fit, flexible and strong. But I like to play realistic fights, so she often has some bullet holes or broken or bruised or stabbed something that'll impair her. But that's more of the story's events shaping the characters.

Something that's waaay to common in role playing is super human characters that are immune to anything that attacks them. I guess some people just adore their character too much to see them get hit by a bullet or get a flesh wound.

I prefer see my character shrink down to pain. Whatever character, they're always getting hurt and sometimes nearly dead until some miracle happens. I'll kill my characters off sometimes then bring in a new one, though it sometimes causes confusion so I only kill a unique persona to that one RP. And anyone who's seeing Krldraav in Darkness Falls as a stereotypical 'cool' emo guy, well he's got one heck ova surprise in the morning, he'll be like a totally different person. Apologies for the off-topic comment there but just wanted to share it. I'm on like 5 different websites invading their forums with Rp's for them all including a MK one. I'm enjoying Blood Ties, though it's going slow; I'm anxious for the next part and waiting for Evans to be rescued. Come up with some great plan guys (and girl), you impress. :)
